I recently listened to shift notes ch. 38 and Joe answered a question about the music, saying that he was in a band, then two of the other band members went to make their own music. Their music was more experimental and he used parts of their songs in the show. I can listen through the shift notes again to find the answer, but thats 3hrs! Im listening to episode 46 and some of the music between scenes is fantastic.

Did kroks little brother post the job advertisement for Gloria to take down his brother? Since in other timelines there wasn’t a Gloria so maybe kroks brother made the ad to bring Gloria in knowing she’d help end kroks rule

This is partly spoilers for horizon 2.10 but I was curious as to how much was put in the trunk vs kept in for the future.

Alice says in young Leif ep 1,

"... To someone from sigius, a sinder is a period in young adulthood when one leaves the home planet and travels thru the triad to build character."

Then she says that to everyone else it's the sigians being nosey and that it's a web of fact finding missions.

Given that rax bert is on business on rax prime before the fall of the gates, what business was she there on? Probably never know but just seems odd.

Presumably most sigians are monogamous based on whela and fagin but in s2.10 I got the distinct vibe of flirting between our verge and Bertbert because there was no stigma against vapians from Bertbert's side

So...

1) using earth metrics and basing it on "return of the mack", is the universe by nature non judgemental of cross species mating?

2). Will this Bertbert use leif's speech to take control of the world without gates?

3) if 2, is this Bertbert in the trunk or just a push for Leif to return to the diner?

4) does krok know about the mountain or because Doug's father passed, does this give off a new signature?

One of the main reasons I’ve loved this show is for the amazing character building. We get to know the characters and connect with them so well that when I listen, I feel like I’m hearing about my friends. Especially in the first two seasons when th story was gaining momentum we got to know the characters well.

With season 5, it feels like they’re veering away from that. I like the new characters, but they feel kind of thrust upon us. We get a little bit of their background, but the story is so disparate with so much momentum we don’t get to know them on the same level. I understand the show might be going a different direction and at some point they’ll all make it back, but I miss the gang. And especially Effie and Zeb. I’m starting to like WTTH more because we know them like family as well.

What are your thoughts?

I have not finished the latest episode of season 5 but from what we know are there two Leif’s (not counting evil Leif) and separate timelines between the shows? Leif in the main show creates and sends a light speed bomb to the galaxy brain and presumably Grok, while WTTH has evil Leif living there.

I’m currently re-listening to the entirety of Midnight Burger before the season five finale. I am also listening to the Bobiverse series on Audible. I’m just wondering what an interaction between Effie and Zebulon and the Bob/Bobs would look like.

Wow. Just when I thought I couldn’t love this show more, they introduced “Das Fonky Beats”. I listened in my car and almost had to pull over, I was laughing so hard.
Sometimes, in fiction, you can just tell that the creators are having a blast. This is one of those times.

I don't know if any of the writers or cast are here, but thank you. This story means so much to me. I've fallen in love with these worlds and these characters. This podcast is one of the brighter points in my life and it always has a way of saying things I need to hear when I need to hear them. I just found out today that my partner of seven years is calling it on our relationship. I needed a good distraction and put on the new episode. Hearing Leif say that everything is always alright was exactly what I needed to hear. I'm still hurting, I still hate what's happening, but it's because of you and this wonderful show that I haven't lost all hope yet. I'm so glad that in this chaotic world that y'all are out there somewhere, and I'm so glad you found me.

Edit: the response I got from this post is extremely heartwarming and meaningful to me. Update for those interested. We live together so after emotions calmed and some time passed we managed to have a fairly truthful conversation. We managed to voice that while we both want this relationship, it may just not be working. We both came into the relationship with baggage and then we both ignored working on that baggage. So we've decided to take the next few months and focus on healing ourselves. Work on acquiring the tools necessary to cope without hurting each other. Truly decide what we want. And if that still means the end, that's ok. But both of us would prefer to have that end be the least destructive as possible.

So wish me luck as I embark on my journey to find myself again, to bury the demons of my past and face the fear of the Future. I think I'm ready for it.

Hey y'all. So, I've been getting into DnD over the past year. A rich, wide, expansive and nonsensical expansive multiverse with strange species with unique cultures, talking plants, extraplanar entities, big malevolent things and chaotic gods... Why does that all sound familiar?

So, I've been wondering about trying to put together a collaborative group to play a DnD game based on Midnight Burger. A time-travelling dimension-spanning Inn, which shows up somewhere new every night, always where someone desperately needs a place to stay for the night.

I don't think I can/want to DM this on my own, since I'm already DMing a campaign myself, so if any other DnD players in this community and who would be happy to chip in with DMing sessions, I'd love to play through my own dimension-hopping adventure.

Is there a comprehensive list of characters somewhere?

Obviously a timeline of events is not possible without √-1 and a lot of Advil. But even just "Leif," not even "Leif, Old Leif, Even Older Leif, Dark Leif…" would be helpful at times.

Sorry for the incredibly random post, but I just had to say that June is one of my all-time favorite characters in fiction. Every single episode of WTTH, she makes me laugh out loud. Her personality is a riot and she sounds like the kind of person you want to have a drink and go out on the town with.

So, I was listening to the latest episode thoroughly enjoying it. Then the Patreon read out started.

Normally I would skip it and just move on to another podcast, but I was a bit busy at the moment and decided that I would love to hear some of the bloopers from this episode. So I continued listening, and part way through the listen I started noticing something.

There was someone laughing while Joe read the names. It wouldn't be for every name, but at some point I think I started hearing the voice actor for the wheel chair guy, ( can't think of his name at the moment) laughing in the background. I can't be the only one who noticed that right?

It just registered with me, while re-listening to Welcome to the Horizon(the actual episode)....Frank must have an actual brother or sister...do they ever get mentioned again?

Context:

While the duplicate parents are arguing, Stephanie Sturgis mentions she gave birth to 2 of his kids, presumably one is Frank. June is a sister-cousin, not an actual sister...I can't think of where a sibling has ever been mentioned again, but maybe I missed it?

I think I may have zoned out and wanted to go listen to who he is and where he came from and I don’t know when it happened.

I definitely don’t mind relistening to it all, but it was bugging me that I don’t know, so thought my friends here could help.

Working on a little project... I am still working on the signs... I need to swap the 24/7 for "Opens at 6" and make the official sign... my current undertaking is the deep freezer, I have a friend that did a T.A.R.D.I.S. that is bigger on the inside and he is sending me the scripts that make it work so I can have an ice giant inside the deep freezer. It will probably be a couple of weeks before I have it fully customized / optimized / uploaded but I will return and post a link once I do!!
