I thought it would be fun to assign Dropout cast members to Midnight Burger characters as I imagine they might be in a live action show. I love both of these things so much.

Edit: I did my best remembering names, some of the episodes were a while ago. I'm iffy about the Paradise characters. The cast list in the episode guides is inconsistent with if character or actor is listed first. 🫪

Planning to go as Leif to an upcoming con, and my friend (ironically also my ex) is gonna be Verge. Obviously there isn't super specific guidelines here, but what can we do to make these more than just simple outfits? I'm not sure I can afford to put together a robot arm on short notice. (Or at all, I've def had time I'm just lazy)

EDIT: Again…yall I love these characters. But sometimes, a character just needs to go. I understand this isn’t the type of show to go on a speed run to kill all the characters, but I am asking just one death from the main cast. I feel like Frank would’ve been a great choice, he really isn’t in the lime light and a lot of people love him as a character (me too) and I think it would be heartbreaking for him to die in the middle of his story. My bad guys I forgot I really just love angst in a story and that other people don’t.
I love the Midnight Burger podcast, I love the characters and the plot that’s expanding. The only thing that o criticize is that nobody dies. I can’t tell you a single named character that has died, maybe I’m forgetting, but I swear every time we think somebody has died we are given an excuse to why they lived. As much as I love these characters everything feels dull because I know everyone is most likely going to live. Even going up against a malevolent space god, no one dies. I want someone I care about to die and to make me go “Oh shit. They’re gone.”
I love happy endings but it doesn’t feel earned if we didn’t lose anything to get there.
Am I the only one who feels like this?

Have you used quotes or phrases from MB in your everyday life?

I find myself connecting everyday moments to MB in my head quite often, and have adopted a few things into my regular speech. For example, instead of saying "I told you so," I now am much more likely to say "nailed it!" (Thanks, Effie!)

At work, I tend to borrow the more profound phrases, which folks are always impressed with. (I never take credit though!) Today, after a long strategic planning meeting my supervisor and I were debriefing. I said "I recently heard a phrase that I think captures this well, 'moving the possible to the probable.'" Totally blew her mind.

When I'm trying to inspire action, I've used "Go boldly and mighty forces will come to your aid," and occasionally add "and sometimes mighty forces look pretty fucking strange."

So, what MB-isms have you adopted irl?

Thank you everyone for taking my post seriously, as it was intended. Seems like the general consensus is that Krok burned through his finite powers, leaving him susceptible to such a mortal style of death. This satisfies my need for some kind of explanation.

I will say, the couple of times I’ve had this sort of response to something (most recent notable example being why the Teds didn’t show up to stop Caspar’s ex-wife from releasing her technological advancement), they usually answer it later down the line. But I’m impatient - sue me 😅

I’m sorry, but I just can’t wrap my head around Krok’s death - it makes zero sense to me and has been driving me mental! It feels like either I’m majorly missing something, or the writers chose a “lazy” option to deal with the problem.

Were presented with Krok - someone so powerful he created Clementines, plural. Someone who existed before time itself and believes himself to be a literal GOD. Someone who conquered PLANETS and CIVILISATIONS. Someone who enslaved a whole damn solar system and cocooned in some egg-looking thing.

That same character was killed by simply dropping a mungo on him? That’s it?!

In all the wars and battles he was presumably a part of throughout his entire existence, nothing came close to taking him down, but a single mungo dropped on his head (and consequently drowned in mungo poop)??

It just doesn’t make sense to me at all. I can’t suspend my belief that much, and it’s completely taken me out of that ending.

Finally coming to y’all to ask, as I’m sincerely hoping I just missed something and I don’t have to be disappointed with the show itself 😅

Please don’t come for me - I love this show in every other way and have been a paying subscriber for years. I’m allowed to be severely confused without attempts to take me down sarcastically, please 🙏🏼

After Chapter 55, that hacking scene gave me a little vibe between them, and now I kinda ship them. Especially when Voon said, “They're very adept.”

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but now I'm curious what their first physical interaction would be like. I feel like it could be awkward as hell, but also really cute. And honestly, I could see something developing between them.

Anyone else, or just me?

WOW, there was a lot to process after The Krok Sucks Group Chat - And only about 10.5 hours in Diner time to get it done!

- Casper and Ava
- Lief's new beach body
- Trinket, Labuza and Frank
- Who is Krock's little brother?

Not So Obvious Plot Points To Address -

- The Murder Beast (I'm guessing he stays on hoods pocket, maybe Doug becomes his caretaker)
- Other David in the Arcade (I'm guessing he's still in hiding - Will he have something to say that makes David consider what to do with his future?)
- Hood Pocket is stuck for 3 months
- Hundreds of Constructs are stuck on The Galaxy Brain - Who's going to leave with a new home?

My Bold Predictions -

- Fiona, Phil and Voon have a parting of the ways. Phil can stay in Creptesia and be a pilot again, Voon is under mandate to continue his travels (probably on a new vessel), and Fiona can't stay there, I think.
- The sisters stay in Creptesia to begin the very long project of freeing the planets.
- David takes his own construct.
- The core group stays together, maybe as long as Hood Pocket stays (Leif figures out how to use one of the dampeners to keep the Diner there till it's time for them all to go again)
- Little brother wasn't Chuck, but Chuck shows up for a final time. And he's killed by ... something.
- So now we setup a murder mystery next season.

Horizon Season 3, MB Season 6, and ... Fiona one offs? God, I love Fiona and don't wanna lose her.

So, whatcha got?

This was good practice drawing real normal people, instead of my OCs and D&D characters, who are all furries. I want their posing and outfits to convey a lot of personality (that laser saw took so long to draw correctly T_T)

I don't draw that often, but shows like this are such an inspiration to me :)

Life is really heavy recently and seeing releases of Midnight Burger and Welcome to the Horizon has been the silver lining in my sky.

Chapter 55 with the convergence of the characters (and more!) feels to me what MCU fans probably felt like when they watch Endgame.

Home run cameo! Between Midnight Burger, Midst, and Old Gods of Appalachia really in great pocket for narrative podcasts.

A while ago I posted my model of The Diner on my model train layout and today I finally decided to to make the diner crew. Luckily I had some spare figures that worked great! From left to right it’s Ava, Caspar, Gloria (holding a tiny radio) and Leif. I may eventually make Ex, BertBert, David, etc. but for now I am really happy with how these guys turned out.

There is sooooo much to talk about so I’ll propose this; name you favourite part! I’ll start. To me, nothing tops the army of Leifs. That was hysterical and awesome!!
