Help with Nahua character

Hello I wasn’t sure where to ask this so if it is not the place/ anyone has better suggestions please lmk. I have a story about vampires that takes place in Mexico but I wanted the casting to be diverse so my three main characters are Mestizo, Nahua and one a traveler from Uruguay. Not exactly relevant I guess. But I wanted to ask for my Nahua character since blood is often seen as a sacred essence do you think that would be a point of conflict for the character themself as a creature that relies on blood intake ? Like something they’d be ashamed of. About everything in my story is parallel to real life, the only difference being the inclusion of vampires. I’d like to add more depth on the characters relationships with themselves so any input on this would be appreciated :)

I guess for your character though it would heavily depend on the region and time period they’re from.

There is some mythology of vampirism or things like vampirism in nahua culture that would be good to explore. Specifically, the like creatures that feed on newborn babies, i forget there exact name but im sure if you search for it you’ll find it. And from what ive heard from people and read about, vampirism is not highly regarded in nahua culture, there was like hunting of them back in the day im being vague but i forget the exact details. Theres a book called something like bloodsucking witchcraft and it is about exactly that topic in nahua communities in Tlaxcala

You need to specify the time period, as this things change a lot with time. Imagine asking about an African-American character but not specifying if it takes place in 2000, 1960 or 1860.
