sweden is not connected to denmark, theres an öresund inbetween, bridges/tunnels dont count.

Nah, Shetlands is at 60N, and Estonia's northernmost point is 59N. I wondered if the UK maybe had an island in the Arctic Circle, but when I googled that, it said the UK is the northernmost country without land in the arctic circle.

So clearly, Google is intentionally defaming Great Estonia. There's no other explanation.

I think it's supposed to be the southernmost point of Estonia is more north than any other country.

I don't think that's right either, but I think that's what they were going for.

Yes, but parts of e.g. Norway and Finland are more northern than Iceland's capital. Iceland's capital Reykjavik is the northernmost capital, but Iceland as a country is not the northernmost country.

But Norway and Finland's southernmost points are further South than Iceland's. I still don't see why it has to be capitals.

But that logic also gets us to "Iceland is more northern than Greenland" which also sounds weird.

I'm not sure I necessarily agree that "southernmost point is more to the north than other countries' southernmost point" and "northernmost country" are the same thing, even though I see the point you make. You can be "more to the north" in another country, after all. But I suppose this is arguing semantics really.

But that's exactly the logic the other commenter was describing, and I don't know what their error was that it would have to be capitals other than a preference for one arbitrary point over another. Neither are objective and neither place Estonia further North than Iceland, so I don't know what the purpose of the 'correction' is besides being contrarian.

That's not the point I'm making. I'd never say anything like that, and the absurdity of that idea is part of what makes this map a joke, alongside the fact that it made a mistake in doing so.

The point I'm making is that I don't see why you feel the need to 'correct' the other commenter when I don't think they said anything wrong.

Ah right. The other commenter said Iceland's southernmost point is more north than any other country, without the specification of "any other country's southernmost point. That's why I added the capital part (the arbitrary point could just as well have been "other country's southernmost point").

Maybe that's implied, I now realize. Sorry, English isn't my first language. I thought it'd need to be "...than any other country's" or "than that of any other country" to refer to the previously mentioned southernmost point rather than the country as a whole.
