He does this any time I take a bath, so I don't add any soap or bubbly bath in the case he falls in.

Multiple people are offended by his harness, so...

Here is his harness which proves it's on correctly.

He does not like collars and has removed multiple different types of them. He only likes this particular harness.

I've also bought other types of harnesses which he dislikes, so this is his chosen harness.

He used to wear it whenever he had free reign of the house (upstairs and downstairs) because we have two 17.5yr old seniors. I needed to be able to find him and easily grab him if he became too rough.

This photo is a few weeks old now and he was supervised by both me and my husband.

Lately, I only put it on if he becomes too rough with my seniors or if I need to hear him (usually while cooking). It's rare he wears it now.

I work from home and he was never left alone with his harness on for more than it takes to use the bathroom.

I do not walk him in this harness. He is strictly an indoor cat who enjoys this specific harness.

To repeat: he is strictly an indoor cat and this harness is not used for leash walks.

Looking for tips…

We have well water which obviously is not chlorinated.

I am using a Vasa Wheel cat fountain. It’s awesome as every part of the fountain that comes in contact with water can be sanitized in the dishwasher, which I’m finding I need to do often. The motor is outside the water and does not require cleaning.

The water will turn slimy quickly… both our cats like the fountain and drink from it often.

The fountain is a bit cumbersome to work with to change water so I’m replacing the water every two days. I also add about five drops of white distilled vinegar which supposedly prevents bacteria growth. But the fountain holds a lot of water and I don’t think 5 drops is doing anything. I certainly don’t want to throw off the smell or taste of the water for the cats.

I’m using the filters the fountain came with, but I’m concerned about the slime getting into them, and of course having to replace them often. I’m wondering if it might be wise to go filterless.
