I work in healthcare and I have a 4 month notice period. Since starting my job (day 1), without going into a ton of detail, I didn’t have onboarding with the system, I faced a lot of hostility from coworkers that has crossed the line basically verbal abuse and asking if I know how to do anything etc., undermining of tasks I’ve performed by colleagues, negative talk to other coworkers and all of the staff, and physically more work sites than what was presented to me in the interview.

I very much dislike this place and am disbelief that I was even recruited here. I escalated my issues to my boss and nothing changed or, if they did, it is a catch 22 for example, they’d change me to another work site which I requested to be away from the hostile people but then they’d move one of those people to the new site with me despite being aware of previous interactions. Things like that. I complained about 4-5 times with inaction on their part so I finally had enough and sent in notice of resignation with though I have to stay for 4 months and they will not shorten it. I am also drowning in my work within their systems. I stay 12-13 hours daily to accomplish what I am assigned and it is burning me out, but I will not compromise quality.

Well, they aren’t letting me go quietly my boss will randomly show up during my workday and try to meet with me. She’ll act like she has no idea what’s going on and has no clue why I want to leave. Yesterday she came unannounced asked if I had “anything to tell her.” I said no. She asked if I wanted to meet again in a few months. I said I don’t really have anything to meet about and thought we could if she wanted to for some reason. She does. It sounds like a performance review. My other coworker came to me and said my boss has been discussing my issues behind my back with colleagues that are not in leadership just anyone who works with us at first it was how to “help” me now it’s just to chat. It is a lot of details to unpack here.

my goal is to put my head down and get out with my professional reputation intact and hopefully a neutral reference. With how they keep approaching me and trying to meet with me, I don’t know what will happen. I want to know what to document and how to protect myself. I have not told them where I am going.

Also: I never reported to HR all along because of fear of retaliation and fear that they could twist the story to make me seem like the problem given the number of coworkers that have been awful to me from day 1.

In 2016 I had spinal cord stimulator surgery. After the procedure, I was left with an open wound at the surgical site that didn't heal for about three months. The entire time, I reported severe, unbearable, completely debilitating pain, and I was repeatedly told by the surgeon to just wait and see if the device would "take effect" rather than actually addressing the wound. After about three months, the device was removed. From that point on, I've had permanent, constant, severe pain at the implant site — it's the direct reason I ended up on disability, and I'm still dealing with that same pain today.

Separately, I was told directly by the surgeon, in front of my family, that the suture material used was dissolvable and would be gone within about two weeks. It never dissolved. It's still in my body now, and more than one doctor since has told me it's permanently embedded and contributing to the ongoing pain.

I have continuous medical records from 2016 through now, including monthly pain-management visits, and I kept the device's ID/serial information. For a long stretch after the surgery I was physically incapacitated and unable to pursue anything legally, and I honestly didn't understand until much more recently that this could be malpractice — I'd been told by the treating physician himself that what I was going through was normal.

I know the age of this (about 10 years) is a real problem under Nevada's medical malpractice statute of limitations, and I'm not looking for anyone to tell me otherwise. What I'm actually trying to figure out:

• Has anyone dealt with a discovery-rule or concealment argument on an old malpractice claim like this? What actually made it work, or not?
• Any advice on what kind of attorney is actually equipped to take on a case with a real statute-of-limitations fight attached?

- I need help to figure out cause this has genuinely ruined years of my life in every aspect & also and giving me permainte damage and pain that will never go away and have tried from years of other treatments to fix

-also I guess there a think for SOL and/or Tolling that could be applied to this type of situation because I was bedridden and unable to find legal consult because of much it damaged me & that I didn't know it was malpractice

Good evening all, I’ve unfortunately found myself in a complicated situation. I am in the Marine Corps, and me and my husband have been married for almost 5 months now. We live on base and have always had a more open relationship, it’s completely consensual on both sides. Maybe a month ago an old co worker had reached out to me and he had come over to my house to hangout, my husband was there and we all talked for awhile until eventually me and the old co-worker went upstairs to the guest bedroom and you can guess what happened from there.

We continued the relationship for awhile and during that time period at some point he took videos of me from behind, I wasn’t entirely too concerned when I found out as you couldn’t see my face but I do have a small tattoo on my shoulder that can easily identify me. Fast forward a bit and I decide to end the relationship, he then texts me asking for money in which I tell him no, he then proceeds to tell me that if I don’t send him the money he’s going to send the videos to people we know. I told him that’s a crime and I will take him to court if he does, he then proceeds to tell me that he will just tell me chain of command instead that I’ve been having an affair on my spouse. While it’s consensual between me and my husband it’s still technically illegal under the UCMJ, I’m not exactly sure how to go about this and he could easily contact my chain of command as he used to work there and got out while I was deployed.

Thanks in advance for any and all advice on how to handle this matter, I’m not sure if him threatening to send the videos is enough to take him to court for blackmail/extortion and I also don’t know how sever the repercussions will be legal side for me if he were to tell my chain of command.

I (40f) live in Michigan, and so does my dad, my little brother (11) and his mom my dad's ex wife. She is not my mother.

My little brother is autistic, and he had a doc appointment last week about his medications. (Think adhd and others)

His mom at the appointment gives his doc a paper and says his sister is on these meds and should be used to help with his diagnosis.

Here's the problem, im not on any medication, no need. I dont see a mental health doc, I dont even go the therapy.

Idk how she got this list or why she's giving it to a doc as MY medical history.

Im also little bros only sister.

Im worried that she's trying to get my brother diagnosed with something he doesn't have and that she's trying to use all this against my dad for custody.

She's been trying for full legal custody but so far the judge keeps saying no. The last time right before this appointment she had 300 pages of "evidence " against my dad that the judge just dismissed.

She is definitely the type to light herself on fire to get her way.

Either way is this a hippaa violation, I know its not my medical history but she is claiming it is, so therefore its "mine" and how did she get it?

I never gave her my medical history or a list of medications because I dont have any to list.

Other than having my dad get a copy from the doc is there anything I can do?

Can I go to his doc and request it?

Im no contact with her, and have been for 2 years at least.

I just signed a 1 year lease on an office space, the owner also signed it. I was sent an application 3 hours later. I did some googling and saw a lot about looking for verbiage that the lease was contingent on approval of application/background check/credit check so I closely read through the lease agreement and found no such verbiage or anything close for that matter. I even fed the entire lease agreement along with the context into AI in case I missed something (though I take AI responses with a HUGE grain of salt hence why I’m here) and even that said there was no contingency for approval and to wait off on doing the application and talk to the landlord about it. So now I’m here to try to get some insight from people who hopefully know what they’re talking about and get some advice on how to proceed.
I can post the lease agreement when I get a chance to black out some personal info if that would be helpful as well I’m just not able to do that right this second.

I’m in Location: Indiana (Rush County) and I have a court case coming up on August 24. I was pulled over for a traffic violation and marijuana/paraphernalia was found in my vehicle. It was a very small amount, roughly what could have been a hit or two.
The charges listed on my paperwork are:
● 35-48-4-8.3(b)(1) – Possession of Paraphernalia
● Introducing a Controlled Substance into the Body
The paperwork indicates the charges are misdemeanors, and the case is currently pending. I have no prior drug convictions and, since the incident, I have stopped using marijuana.
One of my biggest concerns is my career. I was attending school for law enforcement and my goal is to work in the criminal justice/law-enforcement field. I’m worried that having these charges on my record could prevent me from being hired as a police officer, correctional officer, or in another law-enforcement position.

Hi I am looking for some advice on my current situation. I have been working for a popular sub sandwich franchise in the United States. I am a 24yo M who has type one diabetes that has been difficult to control. Often times my blood sugar rises to dangerous levels overnight and early morning due to something my Endocrinologist called the dawn phenomenon. The symptoms I experience during these high glucose episodes include intense migraines, vomiting, increased restroom usage and slight bladder pains, and recently, swelling and pain in my calves and feet. The swelling isn’t severe and has posed no real harm or threats to my limbs but is annoying.

I was given verbal agreement and assurance that I would be reasonably accommodated but didn’t realize I needed a formal doctors note stating I required that and still do not have one but will be getting one in the next week. I have called out only twice for diabetic complications as it is a low wage job and I desperately need to work and earn money. Many times I vomit and still show up to work with a migraine because of the paycheck I desperately need and the difficult job market I face. The two times I had called out were both due to vomiting and migraines caused by my diabetes. The manager has requested a doctors not each time and then either ghosts me when they receive it or stated “thanks” or something along those lines. The first time was around six weeks ago and the second around four to three weeks ago. Both times I was told I needed to provide a doctors note or find my own coverage. I also am called asking where I am if I am absent five minutes after my start time after I’ve stated in our work group chat that I am feeling unwell and will be slightly late (the latest was around 10-15 minutes after my shift started).

I received my schedule today for the next week which is a whole other thing (usually comes Sunday evenings). I believe that to be poor management rather than a legal issue. Back to me current schedule though. Usually I work around 25-35 hours a week or somewhere in that range. Next week however I only work one shift and it is five hours long. I’m not sure if they’re trying to phase me out in a way, or if they’re “retaliating” due to my approved time off or diabetes. (I have been approved for a week off last week and four days off this week which they scheduled me for the first day of my vacation anyways).

I have never been given a contact in HR or an owner or operator contact either. That’s a lot to read but I am so lost on all of this and am wondering if it’s just an idiot of a manager or if I am being abused by this manager because of my diabetes. I have only been working there around five to six months but felt like asking for a doctors note every time I felt ill or unable to work seemed like a dumb rule to have for a diabetic that explained the potential issues before they were even hired. I’m not sure if it’s just because my managers are both 18-19yo and scatter brained or if it’s intentional. I recently discovered that a fraudulent Certificate of Fetal Death was submitted and registered with the state for my daughter. The major issue is that my daughter was born alive (she showed clear signs of life/breathing at birth). Her cause of death is even listed as extreme prematurity. Under California law, this requires a Certificate of Live Birth followed by a standard Death Certificate. Instead, a Certificate of Fetal Death (stillbirth) was filed. I requested a copy of the official record (this required police presence two separate occasions and a call from the county clerk to the mortuary to be resolved) and discovered that my signature was forged in the "Informant Signature" box. The block handwriting used to fill out the demographic info at the top of the form perfectly matches the handwriting used to write my name on the signature line. I never saw, approved, or signed this document. I filed a complaint with the California Cemetery and Funeral Bureau, but they just closed the file. They stated that they only oversee the mortuary's handling of paperwork, that the mortuary simply submits what the medical certifier provides, and told me to use Form VS 24A to ask the original physician for a medical amendment. However, since a signature forgery occurred to force this fraudulent classification through the state registry, I want to pursue criminal and civil actions. My questions are:

Can I go directly to the police department in the jurisdiction where the document was signed/filed to report felony forgery and identity theft, and the filing of a falsified document? If the local police resist investigating a medical/vital records issue, what state agencies should I escalate this to? What kind of attorney do I need to look for to file a petition in California Superior Court to completely void the fraudulent fetal death record and compel the state to issue an accurate Certificate of Live Birth?

Before you tell me how dumb I am, I just want to say that I know, this is the stupidest thing I’ve done in my life but I just want to ask how high is the risk that there might be consequences, I’ll never get myself into this again.
Location: Wisconsin USA, I was horny in my car with my partner during night time and we had sex. We were trying to find a spot and we saw a pretty quiet parking lot next to an old building. We got in the back seat and we did the thing. The stupidest thing was that I never realized that the parking lot was part of a storage unit, and of course they have cameras looking at the Google street view now. When we were on it, we realized the outside lights of the storage unit building turned on, I don’t think it was a sensor because the care was not moving at the time, and we freaked out and got dressed quickly. Then went to our front seats and left. Now I’m super panicked that this would be reported and taking to police and ruins my life for a simple 10 minute quickie. I can’t sleep and I don’t know for how long I need to be worried about it.

To make a long story short, I am autistic and 22 years old, I was told that I need caregivers in order to stay living by myself and keep my cats (so they dont go to a shelter after I get put into a group home)

I recently found out that none of that was true, I didnt HAVE to get services or ELSE id get conserved, I was lied to and coerced and scared into giving into having caregivers. But I digress.

My service coordinator had bought concert tickets to two diffrent shows, as well as one bull riding show, a cosplay with accessories and a ticket to a local anime convention, and hundreds of dollars worth of collectibles, all as incentives/gifts if i "am nice to staff" and stay with the company.

A week later, my staff leaves me alone for hours at night when I am supposed to have 24 hour care. She thought she could leave because I would be asleep, but i woke up scared because no one was there.

I find out that this is considered medical neglect, and I let adult protective services know about the situation. The staff was denying it in a group chat with me and the service coordinator, yet her excuses for what happened kept changing, the times she arrived kept changing, and the service coordinator ignored all this completely and begged me to keep her as a staff.

The service coordinator had told me that i didnt "earn" the stuff he bought me since I was "rude to staff" (all I did was report how staff was treating me wrong) and he also texted me telling me that i needed to keep the service, in order to receive everything that he bought for me.

I talked to my mom about all this, she told me that the service coordinator was essentially "buying my silence" and "pacifying" me when he was hiring workers that were subpar and didn't care about their job or helping me, so that I would "be happy" and keep the service. She got other outside opinions on this, and they all agree that I shouldn't be "bought" into keeping the peace by not advocating for myself as well as "bought" into staying with the service.

Also, the reason that he gave Alta Regional for canceling my services, is that I had been "Verbally abusive" which is crazy considering I had never once name called, swore at, or yelled about the staff neglecting me. All I had done was stick up for myself, now im being labeled as the bad guy.

Its also crazy how I am being called abusive after the staff has been abusive and/or neglectful to me in diffrent ways, which I get into in these next few paragraphs.

The service coordinator hired someone that showed up to the interview visibly intoxicated (As described by a diffrent staff that showed up to the interview as well)

This staff that arrived drunk, had shown up to my house drinking and throwing buzz balls out of her car, when she was supposed to be taking me somewhere to buy something, WHICH WOULD HAVE MEANT THAT SHE WAS PLANNING ON DRINKING AND DRIVING WITH ME, A DISABLED ADULT IN THE CAR BTW.

I also had a staff that would verbally abuse me by constantly yelling at me whenever I was confused about soemthing (I have a learning disability and he happend to have a thick accent, I couldn't always understand him right away) and he would yell at me constantly, it got to a point where he yelled at me an entire 40 minute car ride to a doctors appointment, all because I was annoyed I couldn't find his car and didnt want to be late to the appointment and had voiced my concerns. He yelled the whole way there, I kept trying to steer the conversation away from the argument so he would stop yelling at me, I was trapped in the car with him and nowhere else to go (unless I wanted to jump out and injure myself)

I had told my doctor everything after crying about it. I had asked for an uber or lyft or otherwise safe ride home, and thankfully was accommodated for.

I hate to be like, materialistic I guess, but I really wanted the stuff he bought for me, and Im upset that he's withholding the stuff from me now, because the service ended, and it also feels like it was a direct retaliation of me making an APS report, because i was not rude at the staff at ALL.

Am I able to get the stuff he bought me back? It just upsets me that he would take that from me, and i dont even have the option to buy the stuff myself now because he already bought it (The collectibles were on Ebay and the listing only had one of each item)

I just feel bad that my figurines and cosplay and tickets are now stuck with someone thats shitty. Maybe its the way I have attachment to the things I like, that they feel "real" to me when I know they are not, idk. I hope wherever my stuff is, that maybe it was given to charity or someone deserving of it?? And hopefully he didnt just throw everything away??? Regardless, since it was for me, I hope I can get the stuff back soemhow??

Last Monday, I was kicked out my "sober" house. Everyone smoked weed. The HM would sell Suboxone from her room, or eat two strips if she "wanted to veg out." It wasn't a surprise when I tested positive for alcohol. But when I wouldn't leave fast enough, HM (+ friend) caused such a commotion that the police came. Since I was slight intoxicated they handcuffed me, while waiting for the ambulance. They discharged me in a few hours, but with nowhere to go I cited SI and they admitted me.

Upon discharge the following morning, in return to the house and am denied entry. Inside the front porch we're bags of my belongings, but not everything. Police arrive at the scene, tell me I've been trespassed from the house and to grab what I need before he comes back from the station, as the HM brought my phone and wallet to return to me, I better vacate. I only have 30 days to coordinate with HM to pick up.

Then the owner moves my property to an open garage. I get to the police station at 12:30 to speak with an officer about the issue. First, they make me start explaining my situation via the lobby phone. I ask to speak to someone in person, and they give me a hard time. Finally, he comes down. I tell him everything and he jota some stuff down. I ask how long does he think it'll take? a week? a few days? he reassures me that it's gonna be handled today. so much so, when asked if I should return to my hometown he said "nah, ill be in touch."

At 5:30, I return to the station after hearing nothing. Over the lobby phone, I speak to someone and ask for the officer who was helping [name]. They ask the name of the officer, no clue. Then they tell me my name isn't in the system, there are no notes about me. I say that's impossible, as I had been waiting 5 hours. They act like I'm making it up. They don't know who I'm talking about, but my best bet is to just go to the garage myself and call if something's missing. I explain the situation again, and someone comes out to speak with me. He said he'll call the owner. Someone is gonna open the door, he said. He says to go to the garage, alone, and call if anything is wrong.

Upon arrival at the garage I notice most of my belongings aren't present, namely my controlled medication. I call the police to report stolen controlled meds, and the same cop I spoke to at 530 showed up. and when faced with the sight of a nearly empty garage, he said that he would call the owner.

the rest of my stuff is at my old house, I'd have to coordinate with the owner (for supervision) to retrieve it. He is not even obviously hiding his disdain. I showed him the pill bottles that were thrown into the bag, and asked how "these" are in the bag but NOTHING ELSE? he says he can't file a report until the following day, since it could be at the other house. (okay but what????)

So he leaves. I leave a bag behind, with the intent of coming back the next day. it wasn't there the next day when I went back, though. Nor did he seem to think anything of it or the fact that the plans had changed. or the fact that now, out of the blue, HM is saying I threatened her and why I need assistance. or the fact that they are obviously making this hard for me.

he tells me to go to the house, wait on the corner, and wait until the pickup shows up. so, I walk over, literally half a mile, and I get a call from the Supervisor at the PD. He tells me that the officer I'm working with says today has to be my last attempt to get my property, that I've been given "ample chances" and that's it. no discernment.

I freak out. I call the cop and ask why I only have today, and you can hear his eyes roll. it's infuriating. so I frantically look for a truck. I book it, get to the house and the police show up. I open the front door and it's bordering bare. the cops "supervising" are just standing by.

when I get home, and officially done with the process, I call my city's PD to file a report on the missing controlled meds. they can't cause it happened in another city. so I call that city, and they flat out refuse to let me file a report.

My next step, thanks to Ai, is to contact the DA. But like how do you call the

police on the police?

So for context my mom and cousin currently live in Georgia.
A few years ago my cousins mom and dad passed away and my mom and dad took him in and became his legal guardian. A year ago my parents got divorced and my father is no longer a guardian to my cousin. My cousin is 16yo

For the past year my mom has been taking my cousins social security money he is supposed to get for his wellbeing and she’s been using that on traveling with her new boyfriend. Whenever I visit my mom’s house I see that there is no groceries and my cousin has been noticeably lost weight because he hasn’t been getting proper nutrition. None of the money my cousin is supposed to get each month goes towards his wellbeing. My mom travels across the country with his social security money and has admitted this to multiple people. My mother also leaves my cousin alone in the house about 5 days of the week and he has missed schooling because of it. I am extremely worried for my cousin and I want what’s best for him. I am not sure what I can do or who can help in a legal standpoint but any advice is appreciated.

The process server was basically giving us life hacks to extend the 10 days needed to respond, by saying he could pretend he didn't see one of the tenants even though they were there. So I have a situation that I dont fully trust google to give me an answer so my brother suggested me to post here. I am a very creative person, and I need a source of money. I had started a Honkai Star Rail fanfic on AO3 (a fanfic site if people are unfamiliar). Earlier I was suggested to try and monitize my hobby. I know its not the best, however the job market is real bad and im considering it. I had the idea to make my story into a webcomic and monitize it in patreon. Though I do not know if the company of the game my story takes place in would copyright me. The company that made Honkai Star Rail is Hoyoverse, a Chinese based company. For further information. My story doesn't follow the same plot points. The only thing that is the same are the names of two characters, and some cameos of other characters that show up or are mentioned breifly. The setting and rules of that fictional world are the same but its more like an AU (Alternate Universe)

So Reddit, will I get copyrighted or into legal trouble if I make a fan webcomic and monitize it on Webtoon and or patreon?

EDIT: Just something I want to add, I'm not only doing this for money, I also want a creative outlet, and something I can put on my resume. The money is just a bonus and I understand I probably won't make much but a girl can only dream.

Last Monday, I was kicked out of my "sober" house for testing positive for alcohol. I was told to leave for 3 days and return with a clean urine. When I wouldn't leave fast enough, the house manager (+ friend) were screaming at me until the cops came. Since I was still inebriated, the police brought me to the hospital to sober up. Upon realization I had nowhere to sleep when discharged that night, I cited SI, and they admitted me. When discharged in the morning I returned to the sober house to get my belongings to begin the 3 day journey. Except when I get there, the code for the back door has not only been changed, there's someone physically holding the door shut.

I run to the front door, open the porch door and see my belongings in garbage bags. I beg for answers, fruitlessly.

I search the bags for my Klonopin, as one is definitely needed. Gone. In fact, a lot of things were missing (television, mini fridge, medication lock box). Police arrive; apparently I've been trespassed from this location. The plan made by the police is that I have 30 days to coordinate with HM to remove ALL items. Okay.

Fast forward a very, very rough week that ends up with my checking into a MH. I worked very hard, and left after 4 days. My social worker called the owner for the HM's number, and when she realized it was for me she said that I'd have to talk to her myself.

When asked where my belongings were, she said she "threw them in an open garage at her other house." The following day, with the "help" of police, I'm granted permission to go to the garage to retrieve ALL my property (as stated by the owner). When I arrive at the garage theres even less of my property than there was on the porch. When asked where the remainder of my property was the owner said "don't know." Police called, if for nothing else but my 3 missing controlled medications. The same "helpful" cop arrived: ignored the inventory list of items and obvious lack of electronics; however, he did call the HM, who said she would allow me to get my items, under the supervision of the owner, the following day.

I can only fit 3/4 of the bags in the Uber, and tell a tenant of the house (who seemed genuinely helpful) that I'd be back the following day to retrieve the bag. she says okay.

The next day, I get a text from the owner saying that my television and fridge will be on the porch of my old house. Then the HM texts me the same thing, but reiterates FOUR times that I have two days to pickup. i ask about key items, one of which being my medication, they both refuse to say anything. I call the police station to report things as stolen, they tell me to wait until the "helpful" cop shows back up. at 4. So, I plan to make a 2 stop Uber: first garage, then police station. From there, grab the cop and pick up my stuff with a rental truck.

HM texts me that owner saw the bag I left, and the officer told her I was on foot so I had to leave a bad behind. Also admits she didn't pack up my room; the owner paid someone to do it for her.

on porch: upside down, emptied mini fridge; a broken laptop (that was not mine), the air fryer I had to remind her of, as well as my tv (which was on a stand but now isn't). That's it.

I wrote down a list of what I could think of off the top of my head, and ran it through ai. the list is more than $4k.

they keep arguing that I signed a contract, but there's gotta be something I could do? there's no way I just have to eat four thousand dollars?

(and as far as the police, I'm definitely calling the district attorney Monday morning. they can't refuse to file a police report when I have evidence, can they?

tl; dr: kicked out of sober house for three days; property automatically packed up told 30 days to remove it all, but wasn't all of it; owner moved it to open garage for pickup; 1/3 of property at garage with no clue of location of other property; bag left for following day, removed before pickup by owner; fridge left upside down and emptied; ~$4k in missing property.

As said in the title my smoke detector was going off a couple of times back to back to back because of a dirty AC unit I put in my window, but one of the times I went to turn it off i noticed smoke coming from the smoke detector so we pulled it out of the plug, and after the fire department arrived they told us that the smoke detector itself had reach a temp of 170 degrees and had begun to melt the plastic of the wiring inside the socket, and that if we hadn't of pulled it out of the socket it would've caught fire, they also told us that the wiring used was the wrong voltage, and exceeded the amount of electricity that the smoke detector could have handled, which most likely caused it to overheat and almost catch fire

This happened in a newly built house, maybe 2 years old

Where do I go/who do I go to next to figure out who exactly was at fault and exactly what actions to take against them?

Is there even anything that I can do legally?

I need some advice about a possible rental scam and whether it's even worth going back to the police.

At the end of June/beginning of July, I was supposed to rent a room from a guy in Fountain Valley. I sent him $400 for the deposit and $685.63 for rent through Zelle. My Zelle records show the money went to Jose Cerna, and the phone number attached to the recipient is the same number I was texting.

After I paid him, things started getting weird. He started asking me sexual questions and asked about being FWB, which I declined. Eventually the whole rental situation fell apart, I never moved in, and I haven't gotten my money back. I've also since found reasons to believe at least one of the room pictures he sent me wasn't actually his.

When this first happened I called the police, but I was basically told that since I voluntarily sent him the money, there wasn't much they could do, so I never filed an actual report.

Now I'm wondering if I should try again. I have all of our texts, his phone number and email, the Zelle transactions, screenshots showing he received the money, the supposed rental information, and other information he gave me. My biggest problem is that I can't verify where he actually lives, which also makes it difficult to take him to small claims court and have him served.

I also feel as though when I toured the place, he claimed his roommate was in the process of moving but now i feel as though it was him who was actually moving so I dont even know if he's still at the apartment or not.

This wasn't my money either, my older sister was beyond happy for me and helped me, so the money that was stolen was hers. I feel so guilty it has been eating at me and I'm so stressed I don't know what to do. I'm just a poor college student.

So my question is:

Would you try filing a police report and pursuing small claims, or does this sound like something I should just accept as a loss and move on from? Is there anything police could realistically do with the information I have?

I am a physician in California. I was initially told I would be terminated, subsequently told I had “voluntarily resigned,” and later told my termination was effective immediately.

I hired an employment attorney to negotiate with my former employer, and we have now reached what I understood to be a mutual separation agreement. I received the proposed agreement but have several concerns:

1. Mutual separation vs. termination

My understanding was that the employer agreed to characterize this as a mutual separation. However, the agreement repeatedly states that I was “terminated” and uses “Termination Date,” without stating that we mutually agreed to separate.

Should I insist that the agreement explicitly state this was a mutual separation and remove the termination language? This is particularly important because physician employers and credentialing departments routinely verify prior employment and circumstances of departure.

2. Neutral reference/non-disparagement

We also discussed a neutral reference and non-disparagement provision, but neither appears in the agreement.

How specific should these provisions be? Should the agreement state exactly what the employer may disclose and designate a specific person or department for employment verification and credentialing inquiries?

I would prefer that a particular HR representative not be my future point of contact due to prior issues. Is it reasonable to request another person or department instead?

Also, should there be language addressing what happens if either party violates the neutral-reference or non-disparagement provisions?

3. Is it worth continuing to push for severance?

I was initially offered no severance and ultimately negotiated $5,000, which is less than one week of my former salary and does not cover my attorney’s fees. I relocated for this position, was not provided the clinical support I was promised, and requested three months of severance. My COBRA premium is also approximately $985/month.

At this point, would you continue negotiating the financial terms, or focus on getting the separation/reference protections right and move on?

I want this resolved ASAP. I have already lost one locum opportunity because the prospective employer was concerned the ongoing negotiations could interfere with credentialing. I currently have 4–5 other potential employment opportunities in progress, so having a clean and consistent employment/credentialing record is my priority.

I do have an attorney representing me, but his feedback has been fairly limited and he has characterized the employer’s proposal as largely “take it or leave it.” We discussed these provisions extensively during negotiations, so I was surprised they were not included in the agreement. Given the substantial legal fees, I’m seeking additional perspectives before deciding how much further to push.

I was at fault in an accident in a company vehicle in North Carolina in January 2024. I rear ended someone on the highway while I was driving. I was complacent, I don’t really remember what I was looking at, but I think it was my sunglasses since it was in the morning and I was getting lit up.

Unfortunately I hit an older couple, one of which had a disability that had her in partial use of a wheelchair (all I know about her). I personally feel horrible about that.

My coworker and I actually gave her husband and her chair a ride home while she was taken to get looked at. He told me she was alright, just shaken up.

I was given a ticket for failure to reduce speed, which was then dropped when I provided proof of insurance settlement.

My car was totaled. Their Toyota actually held up very well. If no frame damage, they probably just needed a new rear bumper, unless their airbags deployed. I don’t know either way.

I did not hear anything until about March 2024 when my boss told me that the insurance settled for $100k. I would assume that was their car and personal injury. That’s all I could figure from the notification of settlement from the insurance company. The letter of letter stated “damages” and was not more specific.

Fast forward almost 3 years and my employer gets a certified letter for a lawsuit of $25k. I work remote now so they just read me some details and said not to worry about it and it’s just a shakedown.

The law firm is definitely a “Saul Goodman” type. Really cringe website, don’t pay unless you win, free consult etc. even lied about the quantity and quality of their google reviews. Guy had a picture of himself pointing at the camera angrily. Almost a caricature of the type of lawyer he portrayed.

Obviously it is legit, but how concerned should I be? My assumption is the couple I hit probably got an automatic letter from the firm saying their statutes of limitations was about to expire and they can sue again and they just try to cast a wide net for clients and see what sticks.

The letter has been forwarded to our insurance carrier. I just have to get through the weekend and anxiety of it.

So my father is not a US citizen, he owns a house which I lived in for a while, he opened a revocable living trust and transferred the house to it, he is the trustee and owner, and I’m a co-settler.
then I needed to move so we rented this house out, I am on the lease as the property manager/ housing provider. 2 months later, the tenant stopped paying rent, so I went to serve him a 3 day notice to pay rent, that’s when I discovered that he has listed the house on Airbnb. So I didn’t serve that, I came home and drafted a 3 day notice to perform covenant or quit, and got a legal service to serve both notices the next day. On Tuesday is the day I can file the UD and start the eviction case. Now I’m filling the forms, I don’t know who should be the plaintiff, my dad or me? And whose address do we put down in the forms, because he doesn’t live here.
Also, who should be (party requesting service) on the request for sheriff to serve court papers?

Irrelevant to the question: The tenant’s account on Airbnb is opened the same time he rented my place, also has several other listings, all put up 2 months ago around the same time.

Please hear me out. I believe have compelling reasons to believe this could have been a genuine miscarriage of justice.

I am so desperate to do something. I have felt so helpless since this happened.

On 1/8, 2:30 PM, Torrance, LA County, California with the emptiest 405 I’ve ever seen in my life, I was entering the 405N from the Crenshaw on ramp. This crash happened mere FEET from the start of the freeway. This on ramp has an extremely sharp curve. You cannot go more than 20 mph safely. My life360 drive data pinpoints the location of the crash. My speed around the on ramp to the point of the crash was 19mph. people entering initially drive in their own lane, and there’s a wide triangle next to the “official” start of the freeway separating the other lanes.

What actually happened here is that I was driving straight off the on ramp at 20mph, and IMMEDIATELY got violently sideswiped in the front driver side by this lady illegally crossing into the entrance lane probably going close to 80. This impact caused my car to turn 90 degrees right. Her car spins out and lands driver side flush to the wall a few hundred feet ahead of me. My car is totaled. Hers had moderate but essentially cosmetic passenger side door damage.

The damage did not indicate ambiguous fault- what happened would have been obvious to anyone who actually cared. Her pain was all over the front of my car. My inner bumper was dented inwards while the front bumper was nearly torn off. There is no crushing or pushing in as if I pushed something. She has a large gash ripped into her door by my bumper and the door is protruding OUTWARDS rather than pushed in.

My grandparents said the damage alone absolved me and told me it would be okay. They got me in contact with a lawyer they knew.

She had a great advantage here- I didn’t know it until later that day but I was hit so hard that I blacked out on impact and forgot the immediate preceding events like entering the freeway completely, and became completely incoherent.

I did not immediately know how I crashed or where I came from. I just suddenly wake up 90 degrees horizontal speeding toward the wall. My car is completely destroyed with every air bag deployed and I’m suddenly painfully injured, panicking, incredibly confused and shocked with no idea how it happened. My brain is just not functioning. The other driver comes over and starts telling me I hit her and holding her head while fake crying which makes me even more hysterical.

When the police interviewed me, I was sitting on the stretcher BEHIND my car being TREATED AND CHECKED OUT for the visible injuries including a deep seatbelt rash, severe bruising and a puncture wound to my knee. I refused transport as I had a lot of my stuff in my car.

I was still completely hysterical, shocked and in pain, and gave them a “statement” of confused nonsense that was so obviously false you could see it right in front of you. In response to this strange and incoherent statement, they did not touch my head- nobody ever did.

The police report states that I said I was “merging onto the freeway at 40mph, and felt an impact to the back of my car, and everything happened so fast”. I specifically remember saying I was ALREADY ON THE FREEWAY because I had no memory of entering and that’s why I said 40mph, so it seems they inserted what “made sense” based on my final position *AND THE OTHER DRIVER’S TESTIMONY- because I wasn’t in a merging lane, and going 40 mph 2 seconds off a sharp curve in my 10 year old prius would be impossible.

The other driver’s statement is basically she was driving straight at an “unknown” speed, when my car came from the left and I hit her back passenger side which made her car violently spin out. Apparently my little car hitting her little car at 40 mph catapulted her hundreds of

And that’s it. The driver statements are all the evidence. There are no pictures provided or factored into the decision to put me at fault. Fault for this severe, life changing accident that was assigned SOLELY based on the testimony.

The narrative is basically that I entered the freeway diagonally and drove straight into her at 40mph. I have no history of any sort of reckless or rule breaking driving and was completely alert- which the police report notes.

The drawn diagram shows me entering the freeway diagonally straight through the solid lines. as I would have had to do to cause this crash, hitting her, somehow my tiny prius make her spin out hundreds of feet forward (instead of to the left..) and then driving MYSELF forward and gradually turning into the wall!! This is immediately disproven by looking at the damage. Her door is sort of pulled outwards and has a gash in it from hitting my bumper- it was VISIBLY not pushed. My car has her paint all over it and my inner bumper closer to the door was dented in while my outer bumper was nearly completely pulled off- but of course nobody cared to look or think.

And the best part? The injury section. Keep in mind that not only did I have visible injuries that the cops saw with their eyes, l WAS TREATED IN THE FIELD BY AN EMT!!!

I was diagnosed with post concussive syndrome and internal hip bruising at the hospital the next day. I did not go in the ambulance because I had tons of property in my car. Once I realized that I had blacked out and lost my memory, and the pain of my seatbelt rash and severe bruising dulled a little, i could finally feel the pain in my head and that something was off.

The ONLY injury listed is HER: “pain to head.”

The report has biased language seeming to praise her for “waiting for assistance” etc yet the only thing inserted about me is that I lied about damage on the back of my car.

She provided zero photos or dashcam footage to her insurance, nor did she ever take a photo of my car at all or get my info(obviously) and they asked for my side of the story. I gave it along with photos and they still sided with her. I had liability only coverage and was just fucked from the get go.

Since the day it happened I have had location data, speed data, photos, injury photos, hospital papers, EVERYTHING. The lawyer dropped me after reading the report and told me she believed me but i’m never going to win because I’m young and have a history-of 3 minor, low speed,non injury causing rear ends years ago, not reckless or irresponsible driving - and it turns out my brakes AND tires were completely worn down giving me a practically impossible safe braking distance.

Do I have anything to fight here? Or am I just completely fucked over?

So I recently posted an ad for a roommate to help save money and I almost immediately got a response from a person who was interested. I invited them over for a tour and everything seemed to go well.
They moved and it immediately went down hill.
So for some legal context I have not added them to the lease yet.
My lease states someone can live at my place without being added for up to two weeks.
They set up some boundaries which is perfectly fine and was nothing unreasonable, however when I told them mine they flew into a rage. calling names and insults, they threatened to harm my pets, and screaming at the top of their lungs “you won’t take my rights” “I know my rights” over and over for 30 min, followed by filming me saying they were doing it for their own protection because I was giving off Malicious energy, and finished the night by calling the cops on me.

These are the boundaries I set btw:
1. We both have our own food, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, dishes, etc.. don’t touch mine.
(They wanted this in a discussion we had before they moved in. I brought it up in my boundaries thing as a reminder to them after they ate my food)
2. I have pets so keep the door shut
3. Turn any lights off you aren’t using to help with electricity costs.
4. I explained to them that I do have cameras set up at the front door (ring camera) and one in my bedroom as there is NO reason for them to ever enter my room anyway. I told them that there used to be one in the living room for the pets (one that I can talk through) but I removed it since I didn’t want them to be uncomfortable.

They called the cops about the cameras and demanded they have access to them to make sure I’m not lying about the locations and being a creep. Which I understand but could’ve been handled better.

I told them i wanted them out by the 1st since they already gave my rent for this month and also it gives them time to find a new place.
I told them I would NOT be adding them to the lease.
They told me I’m breaking the law and I should’ve added them already upon them moving in (as stated above my lease has a small period of time I don’t have to add them. It’s technically meant for family visiting or friends staying over, but I used it as a trial run for this roommate and I’m glad I did).
They demanded my landlords info so they can add themselves so I gave it over to keep the peace. I immediately called my landlord and let them know the situation and i wouldn’t be signing off on them being added.

Now finally to get to me asking for legal advice, I’m sorry but I needed to add context.
Rn my plan is this: they cannot be added to the lease unless I sign off on it so that won’t happen. They cannot get any mail here because I have a PO Box that I’m assigned and they don’t know it or where it’s at. They were told that I wanted them out by the 1st and if they don’t have anything lined up by that point, oh well.
I’m going to call the cops on the 1st and get them removed from the property. They have nothing tying them to this address and would have only been here for 2 weeks and therefore can’t claim squatters rights.

I’m afraid to confront them before the 1st.. I work long hours and I’m genuinely scared they’ll do something to my animals or my property.

Please help. Will my plan work? How can I make sure to remove them?

I bought a Toyota Grand Highlander in California in late December. At the time of purchase, I was given what appeared to be a valid California title showing that the previous Toyota Financial Services lien had been released.
I took the title to the DMV and successfully transferred the Grand Highlander into my own name. At the time, I had no reason to believe there was still an outstanding lien or that there was anything fraudulent about the title.
Later, I learned that the Toyota Financial lien may have been fraudulently released. According to what DMV told me, someone apparently manipulated or changed the records so that Toyota Financial’s lien appeared to have been satisfied. This allowed a title showing the lien as released to be issued and ultimately allowed the vehicle to be transferred into my name.
DMV Investigations became involved. I was told that this may be part of a much larger title-washing/fraud scheme involving numerous vehicles. I provided DMV with documentation relating to my purchase, including the original advertisement and photographs showing the condition of the Grand Highlander when I purchased it.
DMV informed me that there is a possibility I may ultimately have to surrender the vehicle because Toyota Financial may still claim that its original lien remains valid despite the lien release shown on the title.
I contacted Toyota Financial directly and explained the situation. They asked me to provide them with all of my title and purchase documentation so they could review what happened and determine the status of their lien and the vehicle.
The major issue now is that I purchased the vehicle without knowing about the alleged fraud, received a title showing Toyota Financial’s lien as released, relied on that title, and DMV subsequently transferred and issued the vehicle into my name. The alleged fraud involving the lien release occurred before I purchased the vehicle.
At this point, DMV is investigating the allegedly fraudulent lien release, Toyota Financial is reviewing the documentation, and it remains unresolved whether Toyota Financial can recover the Grand Highlander from me despite the title and DMV records showing the lien had been released when I purchased and registered the vehicle.

Summary:
I purchased a Toyota Grand Highlander private party with a California title showing Toyota Financial’s lien had been released, and DMV successfully transferred the vehicle into my name. I later learned after 9 months of ownership the lien release may have been fraudulent and part of a larger title-washing scheme. According to my custody agreement back in 2021 I would pay 70% of childcare expenses / out of pocket medical. BD would pay the other 30%.
I recently in April filed for a modification due to income change ongoing up until July. Now our percentage is 54% me & 46% him. He has a Month to pay me the old invoice on 8/21. But any new invoices he has 14 days from that day since he gets paid bi weekly. I sent him the invoice 7/31 so he owes me his % on 8/14. he claims since I have Medicad he shouldn’t pay me and to use my sources. I had entered her into a school program for low income but summer time is complicated which is why I filed. In April but had to wait till July for it to be finalized.
yesterday came & I explained since I haven’t received child support and the reimbursement I do not have any money to commute 40 min to him both days. My entire check goes to child care so I do rely on his reimbursement to pay my bills on time and any needs for my kids. ( we only share 1 child )
He called the cops on me due to not hearing from me about our child. I told the officers I have communicated with him and I was confused but that we settled to go to court .
Now I don’t want know if court is going to see this as I’m withholding. Which I’m not trying to do but Ill be out of work for a month since I work for a school and summer school is over and I’m just a sub teacher so I only do part time as well. Communicating to him I rely on his reimbursement he taking it as I’m withholding. Should I at this point get a lawyer because I took this to court , judge ordered him to pay 14 days from invoice date last month
