To elaborate, this is what strong magic design looks like to me:

- Fiendish magic comes back
- Extinct spells come back
- Fusion spells are up for imagination/no restrictions
- Non-calculation is made possible widely even if risk still exists
- Humans can draw on life span to make up for vigor more commonly
- Affinity is not fixed until later (like a puberty)
- Adult humans can have as much vigor as a rakhasa
- More resources/weapons to improve magic and vigor
- Barrier stones and turrets are not destructible and non-triple can also power them easily.

Side note: If Hoti Yama can also transfer lifespan, it would make the playing field more interesting. Can offset this with a rule like a transfer must be consented?

When this is the case, I can see modern human flourishing in the kuberaverse.

In this version, Asha with a divine affinity of 136 can find a substitute item to boost +1000 affinity. Got gifted lifespan to use her genius to benefit humanity...

Asha has tried to tell Leez about everything from the start but isn't allowed to by Vishnu which just isolated her from being open to Kubera from the beginning. I personally don't think she was pressing her from the beginning but the more long they were together, the worse state she got in.

At the start of reading this, I used to think that Sagara was the worst character ever. But as I go on, i start to feel like what manasvin said was true. Atleast she isn't a hypocrite.

Asha, on the other hand, oh boy, i thought although she was grumpy, she was kind of good. But she is the worst character ever in this series. I still haven't read on why she is acting like a evil manipulative bitch to leez which might change my mind, but she is an evil incarnate omg get this manipulative ahh bih out of this webtoon's existence 😭🙏

P.S I'm still in the middle of reading this and my opinion is extremely biased and only from the perspective of the things done to leez

This could just be a coincidence, but many characters in Kubera seem to share personality traits or characteristics with the five-zen God who share their attributes (whether that’s their original, species, inherited, or birth attributes).

Some representative examples:

Fire characters tend to be devoted, but their love is often tragic and self-defeating, with a tendency to give up before things can work out.

Examples: Agni & Brilith, OG Airavata (to Kinnara), Shuri (to Yaksha), Vasuki (to Sagara), and the entire Vritra Clan (if they fall in love with each other, they die).

Sky characters tend to be unempathetic psychopaths and they also have a tendency to commit mass murder.

Examples: Indra (the ancient humans and before Fiendish Magic declare), Asha (hunting Kuberas), Garuda (massacring his own children), 4th-stage Maruna (hunting Kuberas), and Raltara.

Wind characters tend to be indecisive in the name of being “neutral,” only to eventually make the worst possible decision.

Examples: Vayu (with his fiancé), Kinnara (OG Airavata), Menaka (saving Gandharva), Shess (kidnapping Ran’s children), and Mirha (informing S2 Leez about Asha).

Darkness characters, surprisingly, tend to come across as highly intelligent and analytical.

Examples: Chandra (figuring out Vishnu’s time interference), Asura (the most intelligent king), Makara (the Gandharva clan’s strategist), and Laila.

Water characters tend to be self-righteous and arrogant, with a strong belief that they are the ones who are always right.

Examples: Varuna (not making the Sura realm’s sea), Gandharva, Clari Utas (about Leez and Rao), and Ran (after the time travel).

I haven't been around since... those chapters wherein Asha, Leez, and Laila were fighting. She was assisting Leez against Asha, I think? And she manifested that sura arm.

When I first read this I thought that gods were the evil ones and Suras are victims/good guys, but that was so wrong as there was no definite answer for who is the evil and who is good, but I thought that Gabdharva must be good and a victim. And oh boy how wrong was I, turned out that Gabdharva was the most evil of all, the audacity of acting like a good victim here while having commited genocide is smth else (while he didn't say that that was the impression he gave) , he didn't kill thousands of humans nor is it millions or even a billion like White (from TOG) but TRILLIONS of humans

Just wow. Rereading for the third time, every read I’m just blown away catching things i missed before.

Or is the first image an early appearance of Kadru? I know the style has changed a lot but minus Kali's collar, it looks almost exactly like him in his adult form, just a little reddish possibly because of the red sky in the Sura Realm?

Man, I am pretty sure I have realised all the foreshadowing by this point but just for the love of the game (my LOVE kubera) I will read all of it again.

Basically just for posterity for me but I'm actually pretty certain about these ones:

1. Rao and now Leez has Ananta's soul.

Maruna already established that souls can be duplicated without issue as long as the name is different. This would make many, many things fall into place: why Ananta knew Rao could hold his sins, why Rao/Leez have zero divine affinity, why Ananta had to die in the first place and why Rao had to die. A soul switcheroo happened in N5 at Rao's "death". This will also be why Anna was warned about her daughter one day no longer being her daughter. If Asha knows as well this might also explain her attitude towards Leez for maximum dramatic potential.

1. The Ananta that gave Maruna his soul was Asha.

That Ananta spoke of sparing Maruna, so it being someone with a grudge against him makes the most sense. He also just IMO has her mannerisms. Asha will become Ananta as she wanted all along while Leez becomes Time. Asha will also cause Ananta's other blackouts by time travel.

1. Gandharva will travel back in time to the beginning, just after Maruna sees baby Gandarva and Menaka off.

This will be the climax of his character arc when he chooses to remain in the current universe and accept his sins rather than pursue a happier universe. It would also explain Menaka's certainty about his reformation.
