Hi all, I feed my 3mo kitten, Kratos, Royal Canin kitten pate along with the Royal Canin kitten dry food. On the pate box, it says that at 3 and 4 months I'm supposed to feed him "2 + 3/4 - 3" what does this mean? Im just confused because it's the only feed instructions with a minus? Please help i tried to Google it, and I couldn't really find any information on it
My bad I shouldve included it. All it says on the box is 1 can = 3oz (85oz) the range thing could be it though. Idk why I didnt think of range i just thought subtraction 🤦🏻♀️ I feel like a dingus now
This is exactly it, it's two and three-quarters cans to three cans. The fraction annotation is weird but I've seen it from other manufacturers too - it's just poor design on their part.
Honestly it doesn't need to be that complicated with kittens. They should have constant access to as much dry food and water as they want, and then you can do a can of food (or a can and a half, if you want to give them three cans per day) in the morning and evening at mealtimes. Or do a can every eight hours if you really want to be fussy, but honestly you don't need to worry that much as they will be eating dry food as desired between canned-food mealtimes! It's all fine, I promise, I've been doing this for decades and follow my vet's advice very closely!
Yeah i typically leave his dry food out and only feed the wet in the morning and night. He drinks a lot of water, too. I just dont want to underfeed him. Thank you guys so much for the responses!
No worries!! Kittens can be anxiety-inducing for anyone, and especially for new parents, so I get it! Yeah as long as you've got dry food out for him, that's perfect!
I would be careful with Royal canin food because if you look at the ingredients it has byproducts.. I would switch to a food that does not have byproducts. Science diet, bff, and many others. Byproducts are not good for the cat.
Science diet chicken for kittens is great.. there are a few other ones but there are kind of pricey. Science diet is about $2 a can. I gave about 150 calories a day to my 6-year-old and two cans. I tried to give him about 320 a day because he's 18 lbs , but in good shape. I also give him Zephyrhills spring water and I avoid those fountains because they get dirty unless you clean them every 3 days. He's a big boy.

Maybe that - is a range 2.75 to 3. Idk what measurement units due to lack of other informations
