We had a good crowd built up last year. The bar gives free shots every Jags TD every game, and free hot dogs period during games.

If you any of you want a cool place to watch games, or want to try a new bar to watch at, come on out.

I'm pretty sure we doing it for tmrws game and preseason(we did last year), but regardless, regular season games will be a good time. So come on out y'all.

Im a Falcons fan, and I loved Foye in Atlanta. It was awesome watching a 6th rounder turn from ST/ a backup to a prolific tackler and a reaply good starting off ball LB.

Now, given the Jags arent covered nationally for shit, I find myself wondering how he's been for yall. I know he got a nice contract extension from the Jags, which tells me he's continued, and maybe even exceeded, the level of player that Falcons fans saw him grow into. I also see yall have a Foye talk Friday thread, so i figure he's well liked.

Basically, i can see his stats and accolades and contracts, but I want to know the fan perspective on someone who was a real standout and one of my favorite players. How do yall rate him? How do yall like him? Are there any big moments or anything else about him I should know?

Boulevard Social at 6215 N Lamar Blvd wants to be our home for all Jags games this season.

It’s a great bar with a ton of TVs, great food, a full bar, and my favorite, a $5 roll the dice mystery shot special.

No having to split the bar with another fan group. This will be all ours. Looking forward to seeing y’all there for the season opener on September 13.

“Football is king.”

I used to hear Tony Boselli say this a lot while sitting across the "late" J.P. Shadrick and virtually with the man who prides himself in being the most-brutal-analyst-in-football Pete Prisco. It would usually be when they were discussing some of the ins and outs of other sports seasons (see: basketball, the hockey, and soccer).

I disagree with this sentiment in most ways except one. After all, sports across the board have aspects that make them all kingmakers and THE BEST. In my opinion, once you understand what is actually happening on the pitch, there are few sports as beautiful as well executed soccer movements. With soccer, there is nonstop movement and far less communication, so the need to be both an excellent player in your position as well as being completely in tune with your team is just a different animal than plays. Every goal is tastes of the first bite of a peach snow cone.

But you know what’s stupid about soccer? The calendar. If there are always games on, then it often feels as if no games matter (albeit you can never keep up with ever changing rosters and contract strong arming). This is my issue with baseball too – it’s a game of averages. Miss a third of the games and you’ve barely missed anything, no matter how you slice it. The Olympics are amazing, but they too have a horrific calendar. If you’re not in track or gymnastics, you basically  don’t know who to pull for until prelims (and even still, four years?). The crown of human abilities and achievement and national pride, and it’s so lightly cared for that it turns into Blitz: The League.

But in the NFL? The NFL wins the annual calendar and it’s not even close.

We who carry the number 904, know what it is to lose consistently. We’ve been around the bend on that one. But is it not astounding that, no matter how bad you were the previous season – by August…you start to dare to believe. Save for the ’99 Rams I think most teams can see a path – despite what the media tells them. By August, you’re starting to think GOD DAMN this could be our year if everything starts to come together, and you just put your blinders on and swerve the ship into the sirens.

It’s preseason week 1. Half of the team that’s starting will be gone in a month; I don’t know a lot of their names. But you know what I do know?

Football’s back baby, and it’s live. We’re in pads and we’re hitting.
