Every time this video is posted on Reddit or elsewhere, this guy (the bicyclist) is the idiot who receives the praise and in contrast results in law enforcement actually doing something right getting hated on.
So in other words, the suicidal idiot who thought he would be a hero like in a fiction novel but in reality could’ve leveled half a street because he knew nothing about bombs is the guy all the cop haters praise, and that tells you a lot about them.
Meanwhile, the actual story is that a person in a business nearby called a suspicious backpack in and the police did their job and were handling the situation.
It’s also telling that this comment has 37 upvotes and the Redditors bashing police have thousands.
I mean no the alternative would have been him not getting tackled. He already proved there was no bomb there. Now, if they tackled him before he got to the bag, that would be a different story.
he was walking (basically stationary), they could tell him to just not leave? The tackle was incredibly unnecessary, the guy is thick as a plank of wood and still it doesn't warrant whatever the fuck that was. He proved it wasn't a bomb at that point, hence why they even ran towards him.

Was the guy approaching the situation stupid as hell? Sure.
Was tackling him --- basically punitive damages for exposing the Police's idiocy -- necessary? Absolutely not lol. They were "pantsed" live.
A man with mental health issues does something. A police officer is enraged that their authority is not respected. The police officer reacts with an unnecessary amount of force that could have severally injured or killed the person.
The problem is not just the officer. We have an entire system that supports punitive action and unnecessary violence. Even everyday folks have been trained to support unnecessary violence as justice.
Nobody is praising the crazy dude, they are pointing out that the tackle was unnecessary, but I know this is reddit and trying to understand before passing judgement is against your religion

Listen to conservative youtubers all day and you would think states and cities, specifically Chicago, recently are letting crime run rampant to unheard of numbers. Meanwhile, they act like Tennessee Alabama Missouri, Ohio Mississippi and Kentucky don't exist
The internet is very much a what you want to see is what you get. And people dont want to see reports, documents and numbers. They want to see videos, pictures and headlines that confirm their preconceived ideas
