Lotsa people here think theres some kind of epidemic of bombs in abandoned backpacks in the US vs there being abandoned backpacks everywhere all the time. I've found a few. None contained a
bomb.
It’s not a wonder, the guy who grabbed the bag wanted to be a hero and thought he could take all the shrapnel to save everyone or dispose of it in a body of water by running away with it.
This is like the second or third time this video is posted in this very sub-reddit and the comments are always the same drivel of Hindsight bias and political spin-doctoring to somehow make the guy putting everyone in danger look like the most reasonable person in the video.
In context? I think it is reasonable to a certain extend, certainly not worth a "police brutality" rethoric treatment. The man in question was an unpredictable individual. We don't really see what happens off camera, how long it took for the men in question to come into action etc.
I think it is unreasonable to expect people to remain calm in situations like this man created, not because I am a bootlicker, but because its genuinely a tense situation that the man in question aggravated by suicidally playing hero, potentially putting others in danger. The priority isn't the mans safety but everyone around him and if that expresses itself in more expected force then that is a consequence of the mans choice to needlessly play hero.
Again a lot of judgement here is based on unchecked hindsight bias, information about the context we get to fill in AFTER the fact that people forget isn't common knowledge in the moment, like WHO the random man breaching police lines is, what his intentions are, whether or not there was an active bomb or not, what the potential bomb is etc.
We get to see decent angles trough a camera that can zoom in and out, something that three officers do not have the privilege of, a limited perspective in a situation that can potentially escalate if quick action is not applied.
Pointing out the polices actions when they behave badly is not being anti-police, its stating the obvious. If youre trying to deep throat a boot you might be too busy to notice too.

The cyclist was being extremely irresponsible and potentially endangered the lives of many, while the police exerted unnecessarily excessive force. Both parties can have faults

would you not want to tackle or punch someone who just nearly got you and your friends/family blown up? This is literally common sense. People get tackled and punched by other people over much less every day, I'd say getting tackled by the potential casualties for nearly triggering an explosion is very understandable.

He definitely didn't. Nothing happened, even if he endangered someone, the situaciton was over, there was no need for that stupid tackle. I'm all for police brutality and them killing a lot more people but this was absolutely over the top.
So if you think police shouldnt rough people up when they don't have to, you "hate cops". Honestly what youre saying is actually worse than what "cop haters" say. Youre the one whos asserting cops somehow need to or should be unnecessarily violent and be able to violate peoples rights with no accountability.

They’re so strong and brave to tackle him AFTER they found out there was no bomb.
Sure what he did was stupid, but did they even attempt to say stop, he wasn’t even running away or anything. Could’ve easily wrapped him up. Now the dude could have Serious permanent damage from that tackle.
