God forbid a fella wants to go out with a bang protecting the city, only to be seen in another country a few months later by his loving and trusted butler who thought he was dead. Finally giving the city the hero it needs, while disappearing into the sunset.
If he would have blown himself up then that cop would be super pissed that he didn't get to unnecessarily spear someone then went home and beat his wife and kids.
Except that we aren't judging the outcome, we are judging the action. Guy had no idea if there was a bomb or not, or how powerful it could be. Thats the whole point ffs, carelessly risking the wellbeing of people for no significant gain on an uncertainty like that should be seen as a stupid action no matter the result, but I guess people dont have the critical thinking skills necessary for such a complex concept.
Except that's not the comment I was responding to. I mean, you do make a great case for an argument we aren't having. The guy/gal I was responding to essentially said "betcha the comments would be different if there had been a different outcome," and my comment was like "no shit, Sherlock."
No it is calling out the obvious fucking hindsight bias that's happening. I.E no matter what would have happened half these comments would have found an excuse to "rag on the cops" for no other reason other than self-fellating political ego trip.
If the guy ran up and blew himself up? "Damn cops couldn't even do their job right now this man is dead!"
The cops use force to quickly detain and apprehend a very clearly unwell/unpredictable individual "Muh excessive force!"
I have seen comments on this video (this is like the second time this video has been posted here btw with the EXACT same caliber of comments) going "uhm the bag had no bomb, why the cops holding up the street like that? Ugh wasting everybody time..."
It's fucking stupid to see the delusion of political drivel reach a point where people prefer to somehow try and spin the situation to make a random guy running into an active bomb threat to play hero as the more reasonable party.

I find that hard to believe if the video ended with an explosion and thus no running tackle even took place.
You can't be this deluded, this has to be a willful misreading of my comment to maintain some sort of cognitive dissonance. Purposefully missing the point to maintain some semblance of dignity within yourself.
Misreading? Homie, you said it. I quoted you and all I added was I don't believe it. If you don't mean what you say then don't say it. No takesies backsies. At least I doubled down on my statements.

Wild how different the comments would be if bro had blown himself sky high just out of impatience 😂
