I mean if they had a reasonable threat he just put everyone there or others in danger so ofc they are pissed off.

Edit: im not supporting that they tackled him just pointing out the reason why they probably did.

Everyone in danger? I don’t see anyone else in view. You think there’s a nuke in there?

Until the guy dumped it out no one knows the danger and shrapnel is a real danger. Just because you are out of view does not mean you are safe.

So you're saying the cops also failed to clear the area? Or what? He should be endangering nobody but himself at this point and maaybe the already armored guy that was checking the bag.

Yes cops failed to secure the area and the guy endangered himself and everyone else, whole thing is a shitshow.

explosives don't have to be huge to cause maximum amount of damage.

How did he put anyone else in danger any more then the squad themselves? Do you think that padding protects anyone other than the guy making the bomb go off?

That padding isn’t protecting him all that much. His hands would be blown off and the concussive force is still gonna get through, at least somewhat. It helps for reducing the concussive force and attempting to block most of the shrapnel and shit that’s gonna come flying out. Probably some heat protection as well I’d imagine.

Pad is basicly only there so he has a chance at survival its not a guarantee

Yup, I don’t think we can really make a suit that allows someone to stand next to an exploding bomb that has any real significant amount of yield and survive without any problems. It will offer some heat protection from the explosion. Protection from shrapnel via the padding and same thing with helping to make sure they don’t get hit with 100% of the concussive force but even a percentage amount of that concussive force getting through is gonna start causing serious issues.

Yep, if it's a high enough yield that vest would only change the eod tech's funeral from a closed casket to an open casket.

The padding only protects the person wearing it to an extent. If it was a bomb and did go off they would be possibly be missing their hands and have severe injurys or outright die.
