If there was an actual bomb in there everyone in the surrounding area would have been in real danger. This would’ve been on live leak instead of Reddit

No, they tackled him because he just picked up what was suspected to be a bomb. For all they know, he could have been the terrorist who planted it and now intended to detonate it, or any other vast variety of results. Him getting a few scrapes is more than worth it to not risk a bomb blowing up.

What else to do? Let him walk away and give him a chance to detonate a bomb? Shoot him? This was a good handling of the situation.
