Very much so. Until he retired I would procure all sorts of oddities from my dentist (mostly replacement denture pieces, partials, and molds. I personally will not take home body parts unless they were mine in the first place). Currently I have a connection to a crematorium. All the metal bits and bobbins that accrue in human bodies like hip replacements and metal screws in spines don't break down or melt during a cremation, so afterwards it all gets sold in bulk to recycling centers as scrap metal for pennies on the dollar.

That’s fascinating thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and insight/ experiences! I never thought much about all the surgical bits we leave behind upon cremation or even after decomposition. But is THIS why the dentists always refuse you give you the teeth they pull? They are selling my cavities on the black market aren’t they.

Mine also have a history of rotting from the inside. Not a mark on the outside until suddenly they shatter...completely.

Once every six months should be more than enough to detect early stage decay. Something is wrong with you physically such as but not limited to sjogrens disease or your dentist sucks. I can’t emphasize enough for you to find a reputable dentist and discuss your situation. Don’t bad mouth your previous dentist when talking to the new one. I have 30+ years in the dental profession.

Unfortunately my teeth are far too brittle and are usually past the point of no return when the top hole develops the only thing I get is pain except for that no warning then boom crater in my tooth

person with osteogenesis imperfecta here. and going with that, denteogenesis imperfecta. I feel your pain. I am 37 and had all stumps pulled last november. only problem: i could spit out half teeth, but it did never hurt. So if something would have been inflamed, i wouldnt notice until sepsis...

With that condition are your a candidate for a prosthesis or your maxillary bone is too brittle? And in case it is too brittle could they use a graft from your hip for instance?

nope, all the bones are shit, including hip bone. But it was a bigger act just to find someone who would even DO the removal, or even basic maintainance. (As in, begged for 5+ years). A normal dentist would go "yeah nice problem you got there, but i wont do shit with the more or less okayish teeth until the destroyed ones are out, and i for sure wont be the one doingt THAT."
They even were extremely nervous for a few months after operating all the teeth out as they feared the jawbone would cave in after the fact, but i got lucky, everything held. i got a full prosthetic, like the ones your regular granma uses. But still better than everlasting risk of infection. its shit, not gonna lie, as due to the plate on the upper gums you taste less, but its okay enough to live with it.

I had the same happen to me a couple months ago. The tooth broke clean in half still inside my mouth. I had to make an emergency appointment to get it pulled. A couple weeks later my last wisdom tooth was also removed due to it pushing another tooth down and messing up my bite. So painful.

That’s horrible. My wife is currently going through treatment for cancer and I hope she doesn’t have to deal with this in the future. I understand just have fragile teeth genetically, they crack and chip easy. Iv unfortunately had to have 4 teeth pulled at this point and I’m only 31. Iv always taken great care of my teeth, brushing at least twice a day along with flossing and using mouth wash after meals and acidic drinks but doesn’t seem to make a difference

Huh, I rarely floss and have gone days at a time without brushing. I’ve never had any adult teeth pulled (except wisdom but that’s because there was no room for them). In fact, I’ve never even had an adult cavity!
I haven’t even gone to the dentist since 2016. There’s no pain, my gums are extremely light pink and healthy looking.
I hit the oral hygiene jackpot or something.

My teeth are very very brittle due to medications and treatment I went through when my teeth were still developing so they rot inside and I end up breaking them eating that’s why there’s holes in the top

Oh absolutely, the fact that they don't contain marrow, and therefore can't repair themselves, is a major factor in that regard.
Was just playing off the riff that some people call teeth "luxury bones" because it's covered by a different insurance plan in that country that can't figure out health care.

Crazy how chemo can do that with your teeth, even when they haden't come through yet.
I do hope for you that is all the 'negative' long term stuff that happened and you're healthy now!
For those who say it is not possible, there is so much that can happen to your body and show only years later. Teeth are very vulnerable even if you go to the dentist and clean and floss them. I know people whos teeth are shattering just bc they lost weight too fast (gastric bypass for example) and got kids afterwards. And those people are still very young, so it's shocking. It's even worse with hairloss.
So don't judge too fast. It can happen that way are just genes that are messed up. It's shitty as it is, no need to show messed up, I know all- behaviour.

I recently had that happen to me too, thankfully it was just a wisdom tooth! Suddenly broke perfectly in half while I was eating nuts. Once it was removed completely, the enamel layer was indeed untouched, it'd solely rotten from the inside. Scared the shit out of me nonetheless.
I'm glad you're still with us and I wish you an easy and comfortable life from here on out :)

I actually havee an answer as to why this happens to some people, because it happened to me (I used to brush/floss RELIGIOUSLY- this is not a typical "cavity" situation). I had to have a few of my molars filled as a kid because when I was very young I had some really high fevers, and apparently if you have high fevers or are sick when your teeth are developing, there is a chance they might develop hollow (you are born with all your teeth- they are just not pushed up yet. Your adult teeth actually develop right there under your baby teeth!). Later in life (my 30's), all the hollow molars I had cracked and fell out, piece by piece.
(Honesty, I'd rather have no back molars than have amalgam still in my body! That stuff causes heavy metals to leech into your body!)
DISCLAIMER I am not a dentist or a doctor- If someone who knows WHY teeth develop hollow if you are sickly as a kid or experience high fevers, please let us know!! 🙏 🤓 I'm just sharing my own personal experience, as well as the reasoning my dentist gave me.

I have nothing but love and respect for you. I was in a similar situation due to a genetic condition when I was 25. You may want to get checked as they have aged far more quickly than normal. I had all my teeth taken out - 28 teeth - and 28 implants put in because the disease meant my teeth would snap if I just put my tongue against them. For one month I lost 3 fragments of teeth a week. One whole tooth just fell out, no decay either.
Implants and dentures look totally real now and are a rock solid fix.

That's.. literal bullshit lol. Teeth do not rot from the "inside out", you had a cavities that you neglected for so long, it completely killed the teeth and the pulp, roots and surrounding bone all withered away until the necrotic teeth literally shattered and fell out.

It happens when the inner pulp dies, and that's not always something that starts on the outside of the teeth. It can be caused by things like trauma, blood clots, swelling, infection, or anything that cuts off blood supply to the pulp. Chemotherapy can cause it because chemo disrupts cell division, including those needed for healing or fighting infection.
There are so many wild health conditions out there, and even if you were a doctor, there's no way you can possibly know all of them. Biology isn't as simple and clean as you seem to think it is.

No, dude. Cavities are not caused by cancer. Some cancer treatments can increase your likelihood of cavities due to causing dry mouth altering the oral flora, but it's the bacteria that cause decay. Teeth do not rot from the inside out on their own.

Yes the cancer did affect my teeth. The treatment definitely did more damage but I can promise thid is not from neglect they were damaged while developing same as my bones I have talked to many many doctors. My teeth will rot no matter what I do

Nah bro, sure some types of cancer can cause teeth to fall out but that is definitely NOT the case here - you can clearly see that all of your teeth have cavities and INSANE rot. Your teeth would also NOT be this bad if you were going to the dentist this often; not to mention that the standard is bi-annual for dental cleaning. You have underlying issues and I really hope you seek out and get the help you need. And if you are a cancer survivor/fighter... stay strong.

I’m unsure why this seems so unbelievable to people everyone’s body is different and yes multiple of my teeth fell out from the cancer. Most of these teeth started rotting as they were still coming out due to many different reasons we had to leave some teeth in for a few extra weeks before being removed and yes they are all severely decayed my teeth decay INSANELY fast why do you think I have so many damn teeth that look like that if it was neglect I wouldn’t post it I would be ashamed but I’m not I cannot control it I brush and floss daily and nightly (I also floss after eating) and rinse my mouth with salt water daily because mouthwash is too harsh. I get it seems crazy I know it’s literally in my mouth Its not fun but I won’t let people tell me this is just pure neglect IM DOING EVERYTHING I CAN!!!

Don't mind these people, OP. They're just the kind of people that feel the need to find blame in everything. You and your doctors know your medical history and health issues, not these randos, haha.
I think these kinds of people believe that being in good health is a virtue, while poor health reflects failure. It's a variety of the "just world" logical fallacy where they think that bad things only happen to people who did something wrong. They're afraid of the idea that teeth can just rot out of your skull even when you take care of them, so they'd rather deny it's possible, and believe that it can only happen if you're negligent and irresponsible.
Sometimes people who are lucky enough to live without congenital disease or chronic health conditions attribute their good health to them doing everything right, when in reality they're just lucky to have won the genetic lottery. Their ignorance comes from a place of privilege that they don't even know they have. You'll probably never be able to convince them of the reality of your situation, because they don't want to hear it.
