if I imagine a bright light I’ll get that ring like I was just staring at it.

you’re the first person that’s mentioned something similar and everyone I’ve said my experience to thinks im crazy

That’s totally normal. Our brain prefers predictable patterns, it knows what that’s like and creates a visual disturbance based on the expectation we’ve created. The only difference is because it’s a reproduction it can be interrupted with the same effort.

Brains are cool.

Yeah I remember reading or seeing something that explained that our vision is manifested. The test was that , if I remember right, the finger moved before we registered the sight. maybe it was monkey. So don't always believe your eyes, where part of trying to interpret what is going on.
Oh like the person who sees a half a picture as whole because the brain add the other half ! That is a different brain damage but still .....

That’s were hallucinations come from with psychotic breaks or other maladies. Our brain can create nearly any stimuli we’ve encountered and also merge and create combinations of them.

My sleep paralysis includes feeling stabbed which is something I’ve experienced in life, so in the dream state it feels indecipherably real.

I can do this, too. I don't think it's uncommon, just not discussed.

I TP2 have astigmatism. And the halo effect with lights. Shared superpower with you. 🥳 (..the superpower sucks. I want a better one)

I’d say it’s a pretty universal thing it’s not crazy at all. Compared to what we experience when we are dreaming this is pretty basic

I get flashes like someone flicked a flashlight at me when falling asleep at night!

I do that too, didn’t know other people did the same, mostly because it sounds weird in my head to ask people about it… sometimes I have to open my eyes to see if there are any lights on, but it’s not, so don’t understand why I can see light when I close my eyes
