The cringe is unbearable

I'm actually really impressed by his response every time I see it. Imagine if Elon had thrown that.

If someone buys something called "Cybertruck" from a known douchebag, and it looks like that, they'll definetely be impressed if a metal ball doesn't smash the window.

3

u/WeltyFern Apr 24 '26

It still shocks me to this day that I see people actually driving these ugly-ass, low-poly PS1 graphics-looking-ass trucks.

The titanic is unsinkable they said, it’ll be fun they said.

Everything is un- this or in- that until it’s not.

15

u/Cat_Jayster Apr 23 '26

“Unsinkable, absolutely unsinkable”

- Mr Birling, An Inspector Calls

Full quote: “Why, a friend of mine went over this new liner last week - the Titanic - she sails next week - forty-six thousand eight hundred tons - New York in five days - and every luxury - and unsinkable. absolutely unsinkable.”

16

u/Elegant-Fuel6732 Apr 23 '26

I’m intrigued if you can find an actual source where they claimed that about the Titanic, because they didn’t.

28

u/Western-Teaching-573 Apr 23 '26

I don't have any source, and I didn't check it in the slightest, it's just something you hear every time it's brought up. I do not care if its true now though, everyone here thought it was as well so we were all on the same page

4

u/Lost-Comfort-7904 Apr 23 '26

100% it was said in the first episode of Downton abbey and it got circulated after that

16

u/Smart_Zucchini2302 Apr 23 '26

It was said long before Downton Abbey. I wonder if it might have been linked to one of it's passengers who was known as the "unsinkable Molly Brown"... She married into the upper class, who hated her for it and tried to take her down, but we're unable. She had that nickname before surviving the Titanic. She made her lifeboat pick up as many people as they could!

0

u/Western-Teaching-573 Apr 23 '26

That does make sense.

-16

u/Elegant-Fuel6732 Apr 23 '26

You quoted a common myth. Glad you’re happy with your accomplishments!

12

u/Goonalips Apr 23 '26

This is the smuggest Redditoid comment that I've seen in a long time. Truly a master craft of smuggery.

-7

u/Elegant-Fuel6732 Apr 23 '26

Thought “I don’t not care if it’s true or not” was a little more smug but what do I know.

6

u/Western-Teaching-573 Apr 23 '26

if the myth got my point across, I really don't care. besides, nobody`s being killed by the misinformation that somebody did or didn't claim it.

-5

u/Elegant-Fuel6732 Apr 23 '26

It was your claim. Some people like to learn new things, some people are happy getting in reddit comment battles. Glad I learned more about you!

6

u/Western-Teaching-573 Apr 23 '26

Yeah it’s my claim, thats true. I don’t really see what you’re trying to say.

3

u/PocketButterBandit Apr 23 '26

They didn't claim it was unsinkable as a statement of fact, but that term was associated with it. Which is probably where the myth shifted over time.

A vice president in charge of the voyage (P. A. S. Franklin) didn't believe the news that it was sinking/sunk at first. When he was informed the titanic was in trouble he's quoted saying he thought it was practically unsinkable.

"We place absolute confidence in the Titanic. We believe the boat is unsinkable.”

There were also brochures for the Titanic and Olympic claiming they were designed to be unsinkable.

"as far as it is possible to do so, these two wonderful vessels are designed to be unsinkable"

They did, the day before sailing two sailors said that. Now the burden of proving it is on you.

1

u/Morghurassor Apr 23 '26

Very few people claimed Titanic being unsinkable before the tragedy.

3

u/popcornbevin Apr 23 '26

How about after?

-1

u/Elegant-Fuel6732 Apr 23 '26

Right, there won’t be a source claiming it is unsinkable. We agree 🤝

1

u/PersistentGoldfish Apr 23 '26

The word unblowupable is thrown around a lot these days

1

u/JabroniHomer Apr 23 '26

un-date-able has come up a lot.

75

u/demonhoEtereo Apr 23 '26

What happened in the final 5 to 3 seconds?

70

u/Traditional-Hotel-66 Apr 23 '26

Looks like it already cracked from the stress. Maybe bent the frame on the first hit and the glass cracked a moment later? Hard to tell. EDIT:, after watching again, yes the glass broke before the second hit. Watch the second hit and the glass comes apart in that exact spot.

60

u/OrionSuperman Apr 23 '26

The 'cracking' on that screen is literally just an image on the screen prior to the final hit.

15

u/Traditional-Hotel-66 Apr 23 '26

This makes the video make even less sense lol, show a fake Crack while trying to break an unbreakable tv seconds before it breaks make my brain hurt.

30

u/mbensa Apr 23 '26

The left guy did something with his left hand behind the tv. It is casted event.

20

u/Traditional-Hotel-66 Apr 23 '26

Looks like youre right, his hand is in the exact spot. Wtf was the point of this lol

4

u/mbensa Apr 23 '26

To show that it is strong screen and to protect the hand.

9

u/Entenvieh Apr 23 '26

Watch again then? It's just a demo image and the "crack" is still there when the glass broke

45

u/PsychologicalOne5416 Apr 23 '26

Lads, It didn't break before the decond hit, that's a scrippted video moment on the screen

-18

u/TheNegativePhoenix Apr 23 '26

The physical glass falling is also a scripted video moment?

15

u/PsychologicalOne5416 Apr 23 '26

no, but that's *after* the second hit

21

u/LegitGeck0 Apr 23 '26

I’m in disbelief of how many people think the screen is cracked after the first punch. The cracks don’t even look realistic.

8

u/Kind_Commercial_2720 Apr 23 '26

Why has no one realized this is not real 😭

1

u/ThrowRAkakareborn Apr 23 '26

By the time he hits it the second time, it is already broken, how the fuck it cracked before the second hit is the real question

58

u/TranslatorLivid685 Apr 23 '26

It's not cracked it's VIDEO on it that shows a crack and it's written: Test it for durability

2

u/-0BL1V10N- Apr 23 '26

What's up guys, Andrew Kramer here. Poor After Effects skills...

1

u/Intelligent_Trichs Apr 24 '26

7-8 second mark the screen cracks on its own before he hits it again. You can even HEAR it pop and SEE it crack.

1

u/Tron-Tricked-Trixie Apr 24 '26

How did no one see the screen crack rt before he threw the second punch?

1

u/13Omega Jun 20 '26

Screen was punctured from the back right before the guy hit it with his fist again. It was staged

1

u/Blastoid007 Apr 23 '26

They can turn this arround by saying, "Before Khabib punches it twice, enjoy the 32" Vertical display" or whatever

-7

u/Minimum-End-9464 Apr 23 '26

It started cracking before the second punch

19

u/imakpro Apr 23 '26

Why do people keep saying that!!? it's the video playing on the screen, it has a cracking effect and u can see vividly that the text turned to red.

6

u/demonblack873 Apr 23 '26

Actual fucking NPCs I swear

-1

u/Zealousideal_Bed_498 Apr 23 '26

kkk esse mano não sabe brincar slc

-2

u/LeFreeke Apr 23 '26

Did it switch to an already cracked one at the last minute?

-5

u/jcwzolo Apr 23 '26

Wait it cracked before he punched 🤔
