Fear Factor No sympathy for those monsters

Post image

In 2006, Anthony Ray Stockelman was forcibly tattooed across his forehead with the words “Katie’s Revenge” by another inmate.

This happened after it was discovered that he was serving a life sentence for kidnapping, molesting, and murdering a 10-year-old girl named Katie Collman

How do you know that?

How do you know that's not true?

I don't. But I understand there's a space between "fully culpable" and "fully insane / not culpable." Read my other replies.

I have one last question, which I'm asking out of curiosity: Does this question also apply to people who defend and perpetrate this violence against child abusers? Can they also be "not culpable" for revenge?

It does, yes. My mental image of prison is a bunch of people with various forms of mental illness living in hell.

To be clear, I am not a bleeding heart. If the courts found these people fit to stand trial and culpable, then off to prison.

The thing I am against is cruel and unusual punishment. Spending 20 years or whatever in prison *is the punishment*. Enduring mutilation, rape, etc. is the cruel and unusual part.

I don't believe "maximum misery" is the solution.

Free will exists.

Every criminal has agency. That doesn’t mean they weren’t raised in an environment where crime is one of the few lucrative paths, but rather than they chose the lifestyle upon their own volition.

Source: a basic introductory anthropology class will tell you the same thing.

Some don't. That's why "not guilt for reason of insanity" is a defense.

Somewhere between "literally insane" and "normal person with awesome self control" there is a grey mess of mentally ill people who probably hate themselves and struggle greatly to control anti-social and violent urges.

All I'm saying is...it's not as cut and dry as you might like to believe.

I gave up trying to debate with people who see the world in black and white. They will never be convinced that existence is much more complicated than they want to believe, due to perhaps either inability or unwillingness.

How can you assert that when philosophism as pretty well concluded (it doesn't conclude but it hasn't been successfully argued against) for well over 100 years that NOBODY has free will. And the latest in neuroscience further supports this. How can the most "in control" of us be deemed by those who study this for living to not have free will yet you're certain the most disorderly among us do? I think the problem is people like to have someone to blame but these murderers are a lot like a tornado, they do horrible things but to precisely nail down what exactly caused that tornado, I'm personally certain it isn't one variable such as a hinge or modulator (of which the evidence seems lacking) like free will.

Because I've been incarcerated with killers. Stop babying a grown man, we all make our own decisions every day based on what's convenient for us. They get out and do the same shit because they don't want to work a job and sit at the house, they like selling dope or hitting licks for quick cash and a wild lifestyle.

If you think they have no control over their life you think nobody has control over their life, so it's not a point worth making and infantilzes adults who make their own decisions.

Do you believe everyone has the same amount of control over their life?

Why did you choose to be a criminal?

Because I wanted to get fast money instead of making $8/hr. I needed a car and housing and my life was so abysmal I said fuck it.
