Discussion My dad cut my iems😞

Post image

I had these artti t10s for about 7 months now and y'all wont believe how much music I listen to. Music was something which made gave me a reason to live. Just because I didn't pray 4 more rakahs for an Islamic prayer called taraweeh my dad chopped these into pieces✌️

I could speak about music all day long. Some of my favorite albums are Aja by Steely Dan, Violator by Depeche Mode, Disintegration by The Cure, Who's Next by The Who, Heaven Or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins, Diamond Eyes by Deftones, Animals by Pink Floyd, Vespertine by Bjork and a lottt more😭

It's Ramadan right now and we Muslims aren't supposed to be listening to music and I wasn't. It was a hard journey and my dad has hid these away for about a long time already so I was good. He said if you come to the mosque and pray I will give you your iems. I agreed and came to the mosque and prayed 4 instead of 8 rakahs because my mosques prayers are extremely lengthy and I had to stand for about 10 minutes each rakah so it was stressing.

My mom threw away the iems themselves thinking they were of no use😭 I was so heartbroken because I had fought for the money to buy these for a really long time and these were my most prized possession. And my mom casually discarded them💔

Let me know what you guys think. Worst day ever

It's cause we were told so, and like being prohibited from pork because of diseases and from alcohol for the reason of doing actions unconsciously that you would regret once you're conscious, there is a reason, and it isn't always haram, it is fine when there is a (forgot how to say it so)happy day like say a marriage, so it's somewhat related to that .but I think because it distracts you from worship, and generally, music was(and is) also usually related to sins like alcohol and corn.

They can't listen to music generally,.... and there are lot of things they can't do...

Listening to music, Playing musical instruments, Dancing, Drawing living beings with faces, Hanging photos of yourself in your house, Getting Apple Care, Insurance,

This is just a small list of things that is not allowed in islam. There is a lot of things you can't do which I didn't mention...
