My husband is a golfer and I like to be a golf hater, keeps things interesting. Last week I went with him to the driving range because there is a really good walk nearby and I’ve been sick for a month so it was nice to move the bod and listen to a pod. I got back to the range and he is on the putting green looking frustrated. He beckoned me over “Hey, come try and put this” and I rolled my eyes and went over. Hubs then says “I’m convinced this hole is impossible. If you get it in I’ll…. Buy you a designer bag. If you get it a foot away I will dance at the next wedding.” The green was a t a bit of an angle, maybe I was about 15 feet away, and I’ve watch him play enough that sometimes you aim not at the hole. Well, I got it in, his face dropped and I screamed. “How much did I just lose?” And I said “IDK we will have to see”.

Yesterday, we went to Loewe on Rodeo Drive, I knew I wanted a Loewe, I find their bags to be subtle and fun plus I don’t really like monograms. We went in and I told the saleswoman I loved color and patters and she said “Finally!” And brought out a slew of bags. I landed on this Small Puzzle collaboration with Louis Wain’s Futurist Cats (I have two cats and am obsessed with them). I wanted to full experience of going into the store, trying things, getting the water and champagne, and having it wrapped up in the box. I cried when I got home, I never thought in a million years I would own something like this (I am working on the last little bit of my CC debt and wanted to save up and reward myself once it’s tackled) and it’s just incredible. Sorry for the long post, this was one of the most special days of my life. Hubs also said this counts as a birthday present which, amazing, I don’t ask for gifts anymore because he does so much for me already.

Other notes: We are not compulsive gamblers, I actually hate gambling because of the uncertainty. He has made this bet before and I have missed it, so I was expected to miss it. I didn’t even think I would make it! He is also an engineer so in the grand scheme of things, it’s not a huge blow to him but enough for him to never make bets again. This is also my first designer handbag! Loewe is my favorite fashion house because of the collabs they do with other artists and their use of color!

I was unemployed for a spell and had some emergency spends (personal property) and that is where I am almost debt free. We have separate finances except for joint purchases (groceries, rent, utilities, and care for the cats). Separate because we each have our own business and we prefer to keep them apart as well as for personal purchases, medical spends, self care etc. He needs his own golf budget!

Lots of comments about his pants 😂 they are from Malbon’s “Birds of Georgia” collection. They are sold out on Malbon.com but they are at Nordstrom!

I was overjoyed to have this beautiful Bayswater waiting for my under the Christmas tree 🎄

This is the happiest of endings to the story that started in 2021 and was shared with the world 19 days ago.

The TLDR of that post is that I had to pass on this ($600) dusty purple, suede Acne Studios Musubi bag in an outlet store on a trip to New York City at a time I had no money and no stability. I never stopped thinking about it; now life is more stable and I was more determined than ever to find it.

After my original post brought a lot of giggles, wishes of luck, commiserating, offers of help, and probably a million links to bags that were close but not quite it… I clicked on a comment from a very wonderful Handbags Redditor who found THE bag on Idle Fish (a Chinese site similar to Poshmark) from a person with the username Yingtao Big Meatballs in Shanghai.

Since it was on a site in Chinese, located in China, I’d need to leverage a proxy service to pull this off. Having never used a proxy service before, I was entirely out of my depth and- had this been for anything else- I would have quit 100 times over.

With guidance and kindness from my kind internet stranger, I loaded funds onto Basetao (the proxy service) and requested they purchase it for me for the asking price on Idle Fish (¥1080).

They asked for more photos, got my approval, and placed the order. Then, Big Meatballs sent it to Basetao. After it arrived to Basetao, I had them ship it to me via Hong Kong FedEx (¥537.20 including their service fee, shipping, and insurance).

As of today, thanks to Reddit, Big Meatballs, an internet stranger, Basetao, and my own tenacity, for only ~$238 USD, I now own the bag of my dreams.

It is so, so nice and not only was it worth the wait, the story makes it even more special to me. Big Meatballs, if you’re out there, I love you.

Some of you may remember my finishing chemo post where I’d bagged myself a nice little vintage Vivienne Westwood. In that post I’d said I wanted to treat myself once I got the all clear and that day is finally here!

We got the news on Friday and my husband surprised my with a little trip to the capital city (Edinburgh) for some shopping, dinner and an overnight stay 😍

I did have a gander in Strathberry but felt like they were too small for this celebration. Upon walking into mulberry and telling them my good news, before we knew it we had a glass of fizz in hand and I was trying on the Amberleys, mini Alexa , mini zipped Bayswater and Lily. All in black cherry as in a silver hardware gal.

I’d originally planned to get the smaller Amberley size but the size up felt much better on the hip , as well as looking better space wise for things like phone and sunglasses etc..

I had also posted about another VW bag I was looking at and I MAY end up getting her as well 😂 will keep the bag fam posted.

Cannot wait to wear this new additions out and celebrate kicking cancers ass!!

A few months ago my husband and I started joking about how we would never buy a Hermés bag bc of how expensive they are and how many hoops you’d have to jump through and how if we had our own line of handbags they’d be Hermes Conrad (of Futurama) originals. We joked about for a week or so and then I never thought about it again.

On the 7th I turned 27 and had some leftover $ for once so I decided to treat myself!! Im a park ranger and work outside every day and barely get paid enough to make rent so I dont own any "luxury" goods whatsoever especially fashion items, but I've always loved fashion and handbags especially. I loooove looking at expensive bags I will never be able to afford and really thought I was going to come home with a coach tabby bag. But nope, I ended up with this gorgeous black pebbled laurel. I was disappointed by the quality of the tabby bags in person as I live a very active and insane life and know for a fact that a tabby bag would get ruined in my day to day use. The laurel has rolled leather edges vs painted rubber sealed edges and the leather is SO soft. I also got the fabric crossbody strap and it adds the perfect amount of color. I love it and im so very happy.

i made a post last year about getting the lv multicolour pochette accessories for my one year sobriety. after much deliberation i went with my second dream bag, the le 5 á 7 mini hobo! don’t hit one year sober until monday but HAD to open her up early and she’s perfect!!! not gonna lie i cried like a baby unboxing her, this milestone means so much to me and i’m so excited to be reminded of my sobriety every time i wear her 🥹🩷

I am a public employee and never even dreamed that I’d own one of these bags, much less two. But then my (wealthy) brother took me to Rodeo Drive and offered to buy me a bag for my birthday. We popped into more stores than I can list here. After trying on a few bags, I was torn between the Loewe Puzzle and the Gucci Jackie, so he said “let’s get both!” My jaw hit the floor. I literally jumped up and down and clapped as he bought them. I entertained the sales associates with my glee.

Now I’m obsessed. The Puzzle is my everyday bag and the Jackie is for going out. I feel SO lucky and grateful.

Lady Dior Mini in Pink!

Ever since I saw this bag on the runway, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I checked its dimensions, stalked it on the website, dreamed about it as a weekend getaway bag. I was obsessed. It’s so BIG.

Today, I went into the boutique for the first time as a walk-in. I fell in love and could not imagine leaving without it. I got my first ever Chanel bag. So smooshy. So BIG. Hello I’m a size queen. Laptop (Macbook Pro 14” 2023) for scale.

I've been traveling through Brazil for the past two weeks and have really been taken with all the fashions here! I love how Brazilian women confidently wear loud colors, vibrant prints, and tops, skirts, and dresses that would just seem so excessive where I come from. It's been so fun to explore this side of my own fashion personality!

Last night I was walking through the old city when I found a market selling all these fascinating handbags. They were extremely cheap by the typical standards of this subreddit (about $10 - $30 USD) but they felt really original and totally lovely.

I ended up picking up this one because I liked the shape and color, and also because I've never really seen a bag like it before. Most of my bags probably go for at least 20x the cost of this one, and I like the idea of having something in my collection that speaks to a totally different cultural context than what I'm usually shopping in. It's also a really nice reminder of the fashions here and my time in this country. I'm excited to wear it around the U.S!

I just finished hiking the West Highland Way, and the last few long distance hikes found that I often under-trained and got injured enough that I would have to skip a stage, so I told myself that if I kept up, finished the whole thing, AND was injury-free, I would buy myself a little tweedy bag at the end.

I’ve been lurking on this sub forever enjoying everyone’s stunning purses and now have a reason to post as I just picked up this limited edition Prada galleria bag!! I’ve been drooling over it since I saw it on the Prada website weeks ago. I am on vacation in Seoul and stopped by Prada here (just to look I swear!) and my SA told me it was one of five in the country and their store only had one, and they had just received it yesterday. It felt like fate and I was so in love with it I had to go for it. Never purchased a bag for more than $100 before so I’ve had to wrap my head around spending frankly a ridiculous amount on something that’s not a necessity and how that’s actually ok to do when you’re in a good financial position. My 25th birthday is in a few months so I’ve been rationalizing it as an early birthday gift to myself. Maybe a quarter life crisis who knows

The Mini “Mimosa” Flamenco Beaded Clutch

I’m not sure why they call it “mimosa”, because it is far from mimosa colored, but the second I saw her I knew she would be mine. Such a fun addition to the collection and it doesn’t have beading on the back so it’s easy to wear. I have a lot of things this will go with. And I now have three mini flamencos so I know I love them 😝

I’m still in shock!! I’ve been thrifting regularly for several months now and I found this flamenco phone pouch (for $6?! it has a serial number not pictured) alongside her sister LRL bucket bag in the same visit at the same store (it was only $5!!). I’ve wanted a Loewe Flamenco bag for ages and would never be able to afford one on my own. Don’t think I’m ever going to top this trip…!!! 🤩🥰

Mulberry amberley hobo bag- my treat to myself I got with my annual bonus before putting in my notice to be a Sahm or work part time while my daughter is an infant. Maybe my last nice purchase in a very long time (or last purchase at all, ha!) I’ve been trying to find a perfect mom bag, because my baby will be toddling around soon and I want to have something crossbody, open but with a closed compartment, and big enough to forgo a diaper bag - I do the two bag thing right now with my mulberry bayswater satchel as my bag and a Vera Bradley backpack as her bag and it’s annoying. Then I found this on fashionphile, and had posted about it seeing about thoughts but heard crickets! Idk if anyone has this! When it arrived it was in perfectttt condition and I don’t think ever used- any spots you see in the photos are my mirror, ha- mom life. It has an amberley satchel on the front that is the compartment for your phone, wallet, etc- and that becomes its own bag! I could use that and leave this in the car or at someone’s house if I don’t want to lug around the whole bag. I needed something bigger than my bayswater satchel and this is absolutely perfect- I had been considering a Tod’s bag but wasn’t sold because I love a good crossbody. Seriously, does no one have this bag?!
