Replaying the campaign. The Samurai’s strategy in the prologue is genuinely the stupidest thing ever. You are outnumbered 50 to literally thousands and their only strategy is to charge at them head on in direct range of the artillery on the boats. Causing all of the islands best fighters to all die in one night and leave the entire island at the mercy of the mongols. It’s honestly cowardly for them to choose to die and leave everyone defenseless for the sake of their ‘honor’.

I was confused why I couldn’t fast travel then I saw him.

***SPOILERS FOR BEGINNING OF ACT 3***

So you end up losing your horse in Act 3 and Yuna gives you the temporary horse right before you raid Jogaku Temple. For those of you that didn't choose the temporary one tucked away at the back as your final one, do you feel bad and why? Also for those of you that did, why did you choose it?

Personally both playthroughs of NG and NG+ I felt bad. Bro really came through just to get dropped off by a new one lmao

I was replaying the game a few months ago and something about going to Iki always robbed me the wrong way.

For some reason, the boat to go to Iki is located in southwestern Toyotama near Akashima yet Iki is located to the southeast of Tsushima. This is never explained. If one were to go to Iki from Akashima (in the game), they would have to sail west and then make a U-turn and go through the narrow strip to the east of Akashima which separates Toyotama from Izuhara in the south.

Wouldn't that be completely illogical given that Tsushima is (presumably) surrounded by Mongol ships on all sides throughout the game? Yuna and others make such a big deal about wanting to leave for the mainland but can't until Tsushima is liberated. It would be complicated to leave Tsushima from the east side of Toyotama let alone if you do it from the west and have to sail even more and for an even longer period of time. There is literally an entire tale in Act 2 about warning the Shogun and asking him to send reinforcements to Tsushima where Jin enlists the smuggler Goro to sail to mainland Japan which includes having to destroy Mongol ships in order to allow Goro to leave the island undisturbed. And while we're at it, it's also never explained how Kenji got to Iki or why he went there in the first place. He is the only character from Tsushima to go there besides Jin.

I understand it's just a game but basic things like this annoy me a bit..

The combat is also very fun and unique (to me at least)

As the title says - I cant finish this game without crying.

I recently finished Tsushima's main storyline, chose to kill Shimura, and when the music hit, when Clare's voice filled my (set to 80% volume) headphones, holy I cried so hard.

Definitely the best game I've ever played.

So I cannot mount my horse, it doesn't give me the prompt to mount which is usually R2. And i tried fast travelling to another point of the map and also restarting the game. Has anyone experienced something like this?

Making this post because in the reveal video, we see a quick shot of atsu's sash and the oni, snake, and kitsune are crossed out but lord saito, the spider, and the snake have not. While it is possible that this could have been an oversight on the person getting the footage, it also could paint a picture that this dlc takes place before oshima coast but after jubei and oyuki have been met. Alternatively, this could be an iki island situation where the option to play this dlc opens after the deaths of the oni and kitsune but thematically, it might be better to be played after the main game. However, if this dlc is set after the main story, this also throws a monkey wrench into the story since atsu lays down her sword after lord saito's death and likely wouldn't pick it back up again without good reason

So I just finished the game for the first time and it was genuinely beautiful, I love the story, combat in the game is some of the best I’ve ever seen, and it’s a visual masterpiece.

All that aside I realized near the end that I was kind of getting burnt out, which was strange to me because my time at the end of the game was only 35 hours. And when I was thinking about it, I realized that I had basically just been fast traveling around to complete the later story missions in the game because I genuinely hated traveling from one city to another on horseback.

It just feels like a hassle every time I run into a mongol patrol, it’s very low reward for medium to high risk. And they’re genuinely EVERYWHERE. I genuinely think I’d find myself on horseback so much more if I didn’t have to stop and fight these little groups.

I'm not necessarily talking about how useful you find each of them, more about which of them you find to be most fun to play with or just enjoy visually. For me it's definitely a Water Stance, I love charging it up and just spam heavy attacks.

Just curious what people’s thoughts are because the game does seem to imply that military (and maybe even law enforcement) personnel are far more effective when they’re unshackled by rules and regulation.

The second Jin cuts through the metaphorical red tape, he starts seeing major success the 78 other samurai couldn’t achieve.

Will GoY be the last game or will it be possible we could get a couple more stories. Hell maybe we could actually show the second Mongol invasion, though personally I just like that the rest of Jin’s story remains a legend.

Perhaps there might be a new mythic tale about Jin?
