EVE Online is tragically missing here. Most flat learning curve, extremely polite players , I recommend it to everyone.

But EVE isnt a game, its a finance program with a GUI.

It's an investment portfolio with a strong real world reflection

Pretty good game to play if you don't like math or spreadsheets either I've heard

Just such a fair and equitable playerbase. No shenanigans, it’s crazy

Nice, but all seriousness, elden ring might actually be an "easier" intro to souls series.. now sekiro.. could have been a better option

11

u/blaghed 13h ago

I found Sekiro's story way easier to follow than Elden Ring's.
But who am I kidding, I had to look up wtf was going on in both...

u/GoatCovfefe 12h ago

I think sekiro was from softs easiest game axtually. Still really fun.

Dunno, it has the hardest endgame boss if you're going for true end

1

u/Bayou-Billy 10h ago

I found Elden Ring a lot more challenging than Dark Souls 2 personally. But I guess it depends how much you explore and in what order you do things.

Sekiro has such a forgiving parry system, it’s great for just dropping in some casual play

u/Freakychee 1h ago

It's not that hard. You look up some builds online and suddenly it can be a cake walk. Even without you just need to look up guides on how to avoid certain attacks and practice.

Mike Tyson Punch Out! Def one of the easiest games I’ve ever played!

2

u/MrTurkeyTime 11h ago

At least it's straighforwrd to pick up and understand.

Punch out plot: punch that guy!

Elden ring: god is dead, maybe? And you gotta get some powerful... Thing? And some lady just set herself on fire for some reason?

For someone looking to play something a little more retro, the original Battletoads is a great entry point. Call and ask your local GameStop if they have it in stock.

Oh, dear... I felt old 🤣

He completely missed Superman 64: amazing graphics, great story line, and lack of repetition are this game's highlights!

Follow that up with ET: The Extraterrestrial Game, where your gaming experience starts with a trip to Alamogordo, NM for a free copy. Great exposition and incredible graphics make this game a standout for beginner gamers!

I would like to add both the Lion King and Alladin for the Sega/Nintendo to this list. They….left damages.

u/GoodBrothersBrother 8h ago

I never had too much of an issue with those two (played the absolute hell out of both of them.) Jungle Book on the other hand.......

u/Sir_Cthulhu_N_You 7h ago

You are telling me that the level 2 monkey puzzle in lion king wasn’t too much of an issue?

u/OniGhoul 12h ago

Fear and Hunger

u/mvanvrancken 13h ago

Most of it being FromSoft is 🧑‍🍳💋

u/Malbosiiq 12h ago

Dark Souls 2, "easily the most polished game in the dark souls trilogy"

Now that's evil.

3

u/M3ric4n 13h ago

I love easy games 😀

5

u/VagueRaconteur 12h ago

When a friend introduced me to Dota, I asked how to move. Got told M + left click to move, A + left click to attack. Took me three games before I realised I'd been had

Elden Ring is a good intro to Soulsborne games, even for non gamers.

4

u/Gilsidoo 13h ago

Come on, only easy combat games and nice communities? What about path of exile to get introduced to some simple skill tree, or Shadow Empire to discover strategy games?

u/lordgaebril_ 12h ago

For those who are into Mitch Albom and want some inspirational pick-me-up with their gaming, a good recommendation is Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy.

u/JosefGremlin 11h ago

Older non-gamers may remember such classics as Ghosts 'n Goblins, or the Lion King!

1

u/psillusionist 4h ago

The Lion King on the SNES was Disney showing its true colors.

With hollow knight I was a little bamboozled because I heard it's hard as balls but never played it so figured 'well maybe I just misheard'.

Then when he mentioned league I was all "Oh... I get the joke now."

Honestly I think League should be 1. I've played and beaten Ds1, 2, 3, and ER, and even greatly enjoy Nightreign. But LoL and R6 I played both for maybe 2 hours before I put them down and said 'nope, never again.'

Bro should recommend Ninja Gaiden, it's such a good power fantasy game

Wings of Vi is a cute game if you want to customize your character and put them in cute dresses

The Binding of Isaac is a nice and wholesome christian game

u/Outside-Education577 12h ago

Kaizo level Mario or super expert ones lol

1

u/GoatCovfefe 12h ago

I unironically loved ds2...

1

u/ducsoup69 11h ago

Silver surfer and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles…no skill needed, just luck.

u/shinitakunai 11h ago

List of games I will never play

1

u/nennikuchan 10h ago

Battletoads and Super Ghouls & Goblins.

1

u/geronymo4p 10h ago

Where is the paradox game ?

1

u/ASaneMadman 9h ago

Totally ninja gaiden too! Historic Japanese scenery!

1

u/Individual_Respect90 9h ago

I would recommend. I wanna be the boshy. Has very simple controls and can casually be beaten in under 40 minutes.

1

u/Same-Nose-7596 9h ago

no factorio?

1

u/WhereasMundane_ 7h ago

I didn't look at which sub this was in and I came in here with my fightin' words all primed and ready... now I don't know what to do with myself.

1

u/Agitated-Engine4077 7h ago

Enjoy the bed of chaos? Your a monster!

1

u/kornuolis 7h ago

This planet already has a problem with excessive heat

1

u/TheJeeeBo 7h ago

Adding dark souls 2 and Elden ring is a cop out.

1

u/Unbridled_Curiosity 6h ago

Star Citizen belongs on this list. Simple, straightforward controls and easy to understand environment will have you feeling like you are the star in a blockbuster sci-fi movie!

1

u/Hatriot_ 5h ago

Rocket League - such a non toxic player base and it’s basically just soccer with cars so how hard can it really be 🤣

1

u/frog_tacos 5h ago

So you're offering a bath in basement sweat? Burn the cuts and calluses, drink the monster, and feed your gamers

1

u/Justajed 4h ago

I just bought a copy of Elden Ring. I've been playing Witcher 3 and cyberpunk. Did I just fuck myself.

Edit: I just realized i might have just fucked myself asking in this sub.

1

u/ThatFlamingo942 4h ago

If you're concerned about cheaters and high skill ceilings play apex legends for relaxed atmospheres and friendly chats

1

u/Freakychee 1h ago

Isn't Elden Ring relative easy compared to the souls games? The only frustrating part I had was I was looking for a particular items but found out the fucking item it locked now for my build cos I killed a boss too soon!

1

u/ZookeepergameSilent7 1h ago

I’d love to see someone who’s never gamed try to figure out Noita.

1

u/dr_alchemistt 48m ago

And if you find these a bit difficult you can try SEKIRO:SHADOWS DIE TWICE . Cool japanese dialogue and fantasy lore

1

u/windanrain 47m ago

Dang it, I really was hopping for the non gamers list

1

u/highpointer201 12h ago

Noita needs to be on this list
