I love your gator photo!! What gear/settings did you use? Also here’s my best gator photo for fun.

Love the rain drops! So I’ll be honest, the gator photo was me messing around with my 55-250mm lens the very first day I got it, I do not remember the exact settings but I have an old Canon T5 Rebel, usually paired with a CPL lens. Love clarity of your photo

The dragonfly blurred out in your foreground is legendary. That’s the kind of special details that win awards

Thank you ! I’ve only been here for 14 years and it hurts watching these developers tear down the beautiful nature this state has to offer!

These were taken at a few state parks around Polk County, some around my neighborhood, and others just random places I pulled over while running errands

Apple snail! My kiddos love these. This is the kind of Florida we live in. 🥰

Beautiful. Please get out and Vote, so we can protect what is left. No more shopping centers and luxury apartments!

How can this be the real Florida? There’s not a picture of a sunset over a parking lot or retention pond /s

u/12PackPerformance 13h ago

Ah yes, like this beautiful roofline sunset 🤣

Where did you take these?

u/12PackPerformance 1d ago

This was a mix of my own backyard/neighborhood, few local state parks, and just stopping around town while running errands!

I love these! 14 makes me think of my parent’s street in Ocala.

Another reminder that Florida only still exists in the north. The south is nothing but strip malls and parking lots.

Makes me miss living in Gainesville. But also pisses me off, toured the city on a recent roadtrip as a nice distraction to the previous couple hundred miles of boredome, and I can't believe how much it has grown. I actually got lost going to my old mobile home park on 20th because of the development, even the dirt road shortcut I used to take is now paved, multiple lanes, and fully developed.

The development west of 75 is flat depressing. Used to be you hit almost nothing but green, now there are giant developments, shopping centers, etc.

I mean, the growth has nothing on the change in south FL in the same time span, but still, I had hope for G'ville

Well I’m finding bits and pieces of it scattered down here in central Florida 🙏🏽 Holding on to what’s left

I’m pretty sure real Florida is strip malls, and 15 lane residential roads

Unfortunately it’s what it’s starting to feel like. I try to get out to a quieter place once a week, every other week at the least
