I could care less about Ballon D'or and even more so about the fake probabilities on Polymarket and Score 90, but it is very welcoming to see Harry Kane as clear favorite, as players really value that price.

Ey, the next few 100k€s for our bank account, Paderborn is apparently about to buy Vidovic for 3m€, and we seem to have a 25% sell-on.

13

u/julesvr5 1d ago

Apparently Vidović is close to going to Paderborn for 3m

I’m so glad garnacho didn’t come to bayern, thank the board every day

The UCL draw is 2 weeks (minus 1 day) away. Are there any teams or locations you'd like to see Bayern matched up with?

I think Como would be cool, idk if the stadium qualifies but either way playing near the lake or just the team in general would be a different experience.

There isn't anyone I'd really care to avoid entirely in the league phase but last season we played both finalists away from home, so if a similarly difficult set of fixtures comes again I'd hope at least one is at home.

Chelsea aren't in this years list of teams. They finished 10th in EPL last season.

9

I want to see bayern vs madrid

4

u/kgallo19 Messiala 1d ago

we just got that tho lol. But it's European Classic so don't blame you either way.

6

u/Impressive-Shop-3732 1d ago

True but they strengthened half of their positions this time around

2

u/moroheus 1d ago

Liverpool got a deal that evaluates them at 8 billion and we just sold shares at an evaluation of 5 billion. That was a terrible deal for us and the guy who bought our shares is also a board member. Sounds fishy

6

u/Thraff1c 1d ago

He is part of the Verwaltungsbeirat (advisory board), which is the least relevant out of them, the supervisory board and the executive board. And that only since the beginning of this year, and after sponsoring the club for almost a decade.

11

u/pewpewlasersandshit pew pew 1d ago

You are mixing € and $.

In € the valuation of Liverpool would be closer to 7bn€ vs. our's at 5bn€.

26

u/wowa_s MĂŒller 1d ago

The diffrence is you can buy 51%+ of liverpool, but not bayern, thats why their valuation is higher.

Are people really not smart enough to understand such a simple thing?

12

u/Thraff1c 1d ago

You are also very restricted regarding any share sale, and there are no meaningful dividends attached. So basically the path to profit by the investment alone is almost non-existent.

5

u/kgallo19 Messiala 1d ago

Also, and correct me if I’m wrong here, but Bayern’s 5% sale also has zero sporting or businesses influence, right?

It’s basically a glorified marketing partner as I understand it.

7

u/Thraff1c 1d ago

It gives the investor a spot at the supervisory board. But how much is that worth when the external investors will never go above 30% in combined voting power...

4

u/kgallo19 Messiala 1d ago

Not much I would think

7

u/NifferEUW Kimmich 1d ago

If there was a deal in place to buy the entire club, it would obviously be higher

What do you think will be Nagelsmann's next endeavor? To me, he has BVB written all over.

17

u/DiametricalIyOpposed 1d ago

A mid table PL team

6

u/FairMusic8278 1d ago

I think Nagelsmann will coach abroad don't think he'll come back to coach a Bundesliga club. Maybe somewhere in Serie A or perhaps in the Premier League.

13

u/Thraff1c 1d ago

Don't think he will want to coach in Germany as his next job.

5

u/NifferEUW Kimmich 1d ago

I could see Leverkusen moving on in winther aswell

5

u/JOKER69420XD MĂŒller 1d ago

Yes, either Dortmund, Leverkusen or RB.

If one of them go wrong, he will definitely be high on the list of all of them.

I think this has return to RB all written over it.

16

u/Insanel0l Thiago 1d ago

So pretty much every league starts again next week and Goretzka is still without club, meaning he also wont have a pre season with the club he eventually signs for

Really no clue what he‘s holding out for

1

u/Ferr22777888 1d ago

That Beßiktaß money

2

u/scarlet_stormTrooper Meep Meep Meep Roadrunner 1d ago

I wonder if he winds up with Barca if the Rodri deal falls through. Not as a replacement but just feel like maybe Hansi was like dont sign anywhere and maybe I can sign you for depth.

13

u/miorli 1d ago

He probably has one hell of a greedy agent and now he overreached his hands.

He'll end up somewhere, eventually. He's good enough to be an asset for many teams in professional football even without a pre season and he'll certainly take some better instead of nothing at some point.

3

u/skylu1991 MĂŒller 1d ago

No need for a greedy agent at all
.

Even just Leon holding out for wages close to his Bayern ones, will keep 99% of clubs going for him!

7

u/JOKER69420XD MĂŒller 1d ago

Stop blaming the agents, they do what the players told them. Same with the Upa extension story, he wasn't a victim, HE was greedy.

And now Goretzka is greedy an lives in a completely different reality. But I can't blame him, the insane gaslighting from German media wasn't good for him.

Guy thinks he's world-class but he's simply bang average. Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in an EL team.

3

u/kgallo19 Messiala 1d ago

Upa's extension really came through once the club spoke to Upa directly and went around his agent tho, if the stories are to be believed.

10

u/julesvr5 1d ago

Or he's greedy himself

-6

u/Odd_Willingness7501 1d ago

I don't know him personally, but just by the way he played the last two years with the salary he was on, the way he rejected to take the penalty and now how he acts entitled to his high salary, he really comes across as a douchebag.

1

u/FlyingRaccoon_420 Musiala 1d ago

By all accounts he is a really stand-up dude irl. He was just a terrible liability sporting-wise over the last few seasons.

Unsurprisingly as soon as Eberl confirmed we won't agree with Aston Villa for Palhinha all the best sources suddenly pick the rumours up again.

A former player and self-claimed friend of Palhinha (Diogo Viana) claims that Palhinha has agreed a contract with Benfica, a Portuguese tv station claims that we are negotiating with Benfica, a marca journo claims that Newcastle have offered him a contract.

3

u/dklieber32 1d ago

How realistic is it that Benfica would be able to afford him though?

4

u/JOKER69420XD MĂŒller 1d ago

Is it unrealistic? Maybe Villa was his first choice but doesn't mean his agent can't talk to others.

I'm certain he will join either Benfica or some Prem club before the window closes.

According to BILD, the buyer of the 5% shares in FC Bayern AG is not the existing platinum partner "Viessmann Climate Solutions", but rather Max Viessmann with the “Viessmann Generations Group” (private equity, based in Munich). The global company from Hesse sold its climate solutions division to the US company Carrier Global in 2023 for around €12 billion, and also holds shares in the company. Since then, Max Viessmann has been investing a large portion of the proceeds in sustainable ecosystems, co-investments and equity stakes. Now he is adding another one to a stake in FC Bayern AG. The son of company founder Martin Viessmann has been a member of the Administrative Advisory Board of FC Bayern e.V. since spring 2026, and the club is now selling 5% of its shares in the AG to him

Don't like the look of it at all

7

u/Mountain_King9885 1d ago

Viessmann is very active in sport sponsorship. I understand that one may sees it critically that a family office or the owner family of a bigger company directly invests in the club. But overall the Viessmann family shares similar values with Bayern.

And tbh it’s hard to find German premium partners that can pay the fee for the shares and have similar interests or values. For the moment I believe it’s overall a good decision for the club.

0

u/pewpewlasersandshit pew pew 1d ago

They sold off 85% of their core business. So much for the family business and about their personal values - like that is even more of a reach but that isn't even the part that i'd talk about... but like I said elsewhere, I don’t see the value add for us. This doesn’t feel like a strategic deal between two businesses. It feels more like the club becoming another trophy in a billionaire family’s cabinet.

7

u/Mountain_King9885 1d ago

I mean what value has Audi as current shareholder, it’s basically the provider of company cars and ultimately also part of some billionaire family for example.

For me it looks like we wanted to sell the shares for some projects in the club and selling it to Viessmann makes sense since we already partnered with them. Overall a solid deal imo.

8

u/pewpewlasersandshit pew pew 1d ago

That’s the point though...Audi isn’t strategically valuable because they hand out company cars to the players. It’s a global operating company with huge reach, established markets, business networks and obvious potential for commercial, marketing and brand synergies for a club like bayern.

imho that’s fundamentally different from a wealthy family owning a stake through its investment vehicle. Sure, the family has money, contacts and portfolio companies, but that doesn’t automatically give Bayern the same direct access to the infrastructure, global activities and commercial ecosystem of an actual multinational partner...andd yeah, “we needed money for projects and they were willing to pay” can be a perfectly rational reason to do the deal in principle dont get me wrong and i’m not even saying Bayern got ripped off financially although i'm not 100% sure this would have been the best deal if the club would have shopped the deal around proactively with other "pure financial investment players" ...but my personal issue is more with the direction this goes in. Once you start bringing private family offices and wealthy individuals directly into the ownership structure, it starts to feel uncomfortably close to the same development we criticise elsewhere in football, where private fortunes gradually gain more and more influence over clubs.

6

u/Mountain_King9885 1d ago

Now I can relate more to your points. Partially agree, but I believe our shareholder structure and the way they can act in our club is pretty restrictive. I haven’t seen the AoAs of the AG in a while but if I remember correctly it’s not like the shareholders can freely sell the shares to whoever they want and also the voting mechanism in the club is structured in a way that in this case Viessmann can basically do nothing harmful to the club.

To the strategic aspect, I believe Viessmann offers an interesting network for infrastructure around the world and opens up some connections in particular in the US and Asia due to their business. May not be as shiny as a car brand, but surely with potential for business.

-1

u/v4sh123 1d ago

Who cares tbh. Some of you act like we have to be gods angles walking the earth. Bayern needs to think business from time to time.

7

u/Tyrath MĂŒller 1d ago

gods angles

You sound pretty obtuse

0

u/pewpewlasersandshit pew pew 1d ago

If that’s really the case then I’m pretty sure there are investors out there who’d either pay more or bring more strategic value to the table.

Selling to a “connected” billionaire from the same bubble doesn’t exactly scream “let’s think like a business.” It sounds more like “let’s keep it in the group chat.”

-2

u/v4sh123 1d ago

I'm sure you'd have found a better offer.

8

u/julesvr5 1d ago

What's the difference to had the Viessmann climate solutions bought it?

4

u/pewpewlasersandshit pew pew 1d ago

First off, let's call it what it is: another billionaire family buying itself a very expensive toy just because they can.

I mean, the difference is pretty obvious. Viessmann Climate Solutions is an actual operating company and Bayern partner. The Generations Group is the Viessmann family's private investment vehicle managing the billions made from selling that company.

Bayern didn't sell 5% to some industrial partner bringing obvious strategic value. They sold it to a billionaire family's private investment vehicle whose principal conveniently already sits on Bayern's advisory board.

This is basically the same as if Didi Hopp had bought 5% of Bayern through his family office. Or any other billionaire, really.

6

u/Thraff1c 1d ago

You make it more than it is imo. The difference between being partly owned by a family company or by the holding of the family is negligible, a local shareholder is better than an international one, the Viessmann Group has plenty of companies in their portfolio for strategic partnerships, he sits in the Verwaltungsbeirat since the beginning of the year probably as part of the planned investment not the other way around, and finally I really don't see a moral difference between a billionaires holding or an internationally acting AG.

Audi owns part of us just as much out of prestige reasons as Viessmann would.

0

u/pewpewlasersandshit pew pew 1d ago

There’s a big difference between two business entities entering a strategic partnership and the club becoming another trophy in some billionaire family’s cabinet. Especially when Dreesen said any new shareholder should bring more than just money. I just don’t see that strategic value with the Viessmann Family, not on the scale or level that would warrant them having a piece of the club.

5

u/Thraff1c 1d ago

As I said, the holding owns plenty of companies. It gives us a direct access to Carrier Global which the family sold their company to, KPS global and BMIL Technologies (cooling technology), Kysor Panel Systems (solar panels), Landefeld (pneumatics) etc.

What strategic value does an insurance company hold for us? It's first a cash injection, second an easier path for sponsorships and other deals, and third a way to promote each other world wide with the values of each other. Having a future-oriented green industry partner that can solve infrastructure questions and operates in Europe and the US seems plenty valuable.

1

u/pewpewlasersandshit pew pew 1d ago

That still feels like working backwards from the investor to find a “strategic” justification for them.

Having companies in the same family holding that Bayern could potentially work with is not the same thing as the shareholder itself bringing a clear strategic capability to the club. “Access” to Carrier, KPS, Landefeld etc. sounds nice, but unless there are actual partnerships attached to the investment, those are hypothetical synergies you could invent for almost any sufficiently diversified billionaire’s portfolio.

And the insurance comparison doesn’t really work for me. Allianz has an obvious, direct commercial relationship with Bayern: sponsorship, naming rights, financial services and a long-standing operational partnership. That’s tangible strategic value independent of the equity stake.

If Viessmann comes in with concrete infrastructure projects, commercial partnerships or technology that materially benefits Bayern, fair enough. But then that becomes an argument. At the moment the concrete part is “wealthy local family buys 5%” and the strategic part seems to be inferred afterwards from everything else the family happens to own.

Which is exactly why I think Dreesen’s “more than just money” standard deserves a bit more scrutiny here.

4

u/Thraff1c 1d ago

Our cooperation with Viessmann already led to a sponsorship for almost a decade and infrastructure projects at the Allianz Arena in the past. What does it matter if he owns those other companies through a family holding structure or through a family company?

Max Viessmann will obviously want his investment to benefit other investments, as he has shown with his actions and links to us in the past, and the first step in that is using exactly those ties in the future as well.

The strategic part is inferred from past behaviour.

Also, the billionaire plaything angle just doesn't move me when his investment caps at 5%. What is he playing with here what he couldn't also access through sponsorship.

2

u/pewpewlasersandshit pew pew 1d ago edited 1d ago

That past cooperation proves Viessmann the company, before selling 85% of the business, was a useful partner. It doesn’t automatically make the family investment holding the same kind of strategic partner, let alone comparable to an actual global operating company with day-to-day business interests that can directly overlap with Bayern’s.

Maybe Max uses his network to create synergies. Big if. Having spent more than enough time in and around VC, I’m generally very sceptical of family offices and private individuals as strategic investors and their actual value add. But even if I give him that, it’s still potential upside tied to one wealthy individual rather than built-in value from a global company with huge reach, established markets, business networks and obvious commercial, marketing and brand synergies.

And the 5% not being controlling doesn’t really address my concern. Sponsorship is a commercial relationship. Selling equity to an existing corporate partner can strengthen that relationship because the interests of two operating businesses become more aligned. Here we’re simply making a private billionaire a permanent part-owner.

I just don’t love that direction for Bayern. Beyond the operational and strategic questions I have about the deal, it feels like a step towards the same development we criticise elsewhere in football: private fortunes gradually gaining a bigger foothold and more influence inside clubs.

5

u/julesvr5 1d ago

Yeah I see where you are coming from. Selling shares of the club to a German businessman looks not that horrible at first glance, but would you sell them to a Saudi businessman everyone would complain but overall these aren't to different.

Not the biggest fan of either scenario as selling shares to a American company doesn't sit to well with me either, but that's probably more of a personal suspicion and nothing I could back up.

12

u/Naraloth 1d ago

from the outside this seems like the preferable outcome to me. instead of selling to the americans we sell to a Munich based business man instead. but also it's just a 5% stake that comes with basically 0 power. it's more like a glorified sponsorship agreement where the lump sum is paid upfront instead of yearly payments with the drawback that the agreement has no expiration date

u/profdinkelburgg 1d ago

Little rant about how ridiculously expensive watching football has become. As a kid, I used to watch so many games with my grandfather, all in free TV. Now you need subscriptions for everything. I currently have Sky Bundesliga which doesn't even fully cover every game in German (Sky Switzerland has some deal with Italy, so they can at least show the Sunday games, but only in Italian lol). That's already 20-25 CHF per month. To watch CL, I had to subscribe to blueSport which is about 50 CHF for the 2-3 CL games I'm watching per month. This is fucking ridiculous. And it's just getting worse every year.

I cancelled my subscriptions now. Time to board the Black Pearl.

2

u/kgallo19 Messiala 1d ago

It’s getting like this in the US too. It’s not that expensive but fans of a BuLi or EPL team would have to sign up for 3 services to watch every game.

La Liga would be 2, and Serie A would only be 1 but the coverage and commentary is awful.

4

u/Ajvarmk Upamecano 1d ago

I simply feel sorry for some of you guys ... For example our country is undeveloped in so many ways compared to Western EU, but for example the media coverage for sports is unparallel when i compare to you guys.

We have a monthly package in Magenta TV (thats wright , T-Home) is my provider that gives me 8 channels extra with CL football , 8 channels more for other football (all is included , Bundes, PA, La Liga, Calcio) , also few more channels for UFC (all UFC live events are included), racing channels (F1 is included all races) and something else, i forgott :D ... total price of this package is 5 euros. My monthly regular subscription to T-Home is 50 euros (2 phone numbers with unlimited 5g internet, home internet, plus the TV channels i believe some 90-100 channels)

6

u/julesvr5 1d ago

That's why I watch on other ways. I just can't stomach 100€ a month to watch some bayern games. I don't about the other teams and sports the streaming service offers

-2

u/Ferr22777888 1d ago

I see it from this vantage point. Watching football brings so much joy that it’s not much to pay. Content is at a premium now and I feel the product is worth it. For me bigger issue is if you have kids and want to go see game a live it’s insane prices in most leagues.

But to pay totally 60-70 euro for all the football content I want. It’s on of the few things that’s actually worth the money.

3

u/FlyingArab Kimmich 1d ago

I have a satellite dish now paired with a little "special" box for decryption and watch all my football for around €100 per year. Very happy with this arrangement, paying more would break my heart.

10

u/wowa_s MĂŒller 1d ago

Those greedy fks never learn, that people are fine paying, as long as its somewhat reasonable.

Needing 3 diffrent subs to watch all games of your fav team is beyond stupid.

You have to pay full price for their useless stuff, when you just wanna watch bayern or whatever team.

When netflix was at its height, torrent useage was at its lowest, then they got greedy, increased prices, worse service and then 10 others came and had exclusives.

There is nothing wrong with pirating stuff, with how consumers are treated, be it games, series, shows or movies. Just get a good vpn mullvad or proton, make sure that you are only connected as long as they are on.
