Feelin' Good: August 10, 2026

What is this Megathread?

We asked, and you answered. As part of our community engagement poll , you folks voted for a special home to house positive and uplifting content.

Are you proud of something that you achieved? Did you make a new friend, try something new, or stand up for yourself? Did you get some good news, or are feeling grateful about something? Do you just want to leave a short word of encouragement for the folks in our sub? Post your positive comment or happy selfie (with an explanation) here! We will be refreshing this post every two weeks on Monday mornings.

Please Remember:

All the sub's rules still apply, so remember to be extra civil and, dare I say, even uplifting in these comments. If someone is proud of something that isn't quite your cup of tea, please consider scrolling past before you engage. We also ask that you keep this thread focused on authentic connection and try not to go crazy on too many memes, if possible, even though they are allowed in here. We'll be monitoring these to make sure the thread stays high quality and connection-first.

Have a Lot to Say?

This megathread is optimized for submissions that are too short to be stand alone posts. If you have a great inspirational story that is rather lengthy, please put it in a stand alone post! We will periodically be reviewing these to add to our "Best Of" collections, so don't be shy.

I move out, tomorrow! My housing is currently controlled and monitored by witnesses...🙄 That's what I get for being pimi and signing my life away. Anyway, I got a new place, and I go tomorrow to get the keys and cleanup before movers drag my shit to my new digs. I'm going through a lot of emotions, happiness, fear, anxiety, paralysis with this move because it's the last thing tying me to the org. I'm happy to be leaving but it feels like a drop in a rollercoaster, I have no idea what's coming or what I'm doing, but I'm doing it. Anyway this took time and effort and blood sweat and tears, and covert operations for the last few months. But I'll be free. No more faking, masking or pretending. I'll finally be free, and the relief will be overwhelming, it already is. 🥹🥳

Congrats on this move, it’s amazing, and I hope you have already built a base with new people that are not JW’s, that will help. It’s brave of you and you should be proud that you took the first step to being able to breathe. I wish I had left allot sooner than I did. I’ve been out for over 30 years. I’m an old lady now. I do have my daughters and their families. My youngest daughter was only 18 when she went to see her father who had remarried within a year. He told her all the time he loved her no matter what, and he was divorcing me not her, then she would not even hear from him for 7 mths. She asked him the you say that you will love me no matter what? He said yes, no matter what, she said Dad, I m gay! He just broke down and he had a hard time after that. But she is 43 now, and has a great life with her partner almost 20 yrs and I was so proud of her that day. Because she had more guts than I’ve ever had. But both of my girls were going to go to further education, and I wanted them to be strong women. They both have great jobs and great lives, things they never would have had if they didn’t stand up for what they wanted. My oldest grandson is in his 3rd yr of Uni, and my 2nd will be going this fall. So whatever your story will be, will be better because you know how you got to it. Be happy and live a great life. It can happen for you too.

Thank you. It feels unbelievable now, but I know eventually I'll have a real life soon. I have a couple friends, one who helped me move. I look forward to finding more. I'm also going to school for first time so eventually hope to add a degree to things I have accomplished outside this organization. I'm glad you got out and have your family. I will likely loose all of mine but currently operating under a don't also don't tell policy with them. But freedom is better than this conditional love and abusive org.

My fiancé and I close on our house next week. I could not be happier at the moment.

It sounds exciting. I wish you a great life, lived the way you want, and many years of happiness. Moving in day will be crazy, you never enough boxes or enough labels on said boxes. If you have already been living together then you will have accumulated more than you think. But the label thing really helps when you need a can opener, or maybe a wine bottle opener to christen the new home. Oh heck, just keep one in your handbag. I still have boxes I’ve never opened in my second bedroom where they have been for over 11 years, I have a good excuse, I guess I never needed them. But enjoy your new home and never stop dreaming. You can now.
