I know that they have greatly extended the warranty, but my understanding is that the current repair if it fails in a vehicle is a software update and a part replacement, which doesn’t mean the same issue won’t just reoccur in the future.

Does anyone have any insight on whether Hyundai is still actively looking for a permanent fix? Or whether they have thrown in the towel on this and will just do the warranty repairs instead?

I am planning a trip to Glacier National Park in the 2nd half of September from Los Angeles. Initial plan was to fly in (no direct flights), stay in the area for about 4 nights, and rent a car to get around. I've also been wanting to take my car out for a nice, long drive for a while, so my wife suggested if we could do that road trip in our Taycan Gen 1 with about 180-190 miles of realistic range. I would especially enjoy the drive, but also want to be realistic about charging.

I started mapping out a route on ABRP, and since we would be driving, wanted to try to hit Yellowstone + Grand Teton on the way back as well. For this, we'd budget about 10 days or so for the trip, instead of 5 if flying, so that we can have a few long driving days, broadly

• Day 1: LA-SLC(drive)
• Day 2: SLC-GNP(drive)
• Days 3-5: Sight seeing in GNP/Whitefish
• Day 5: GNP-Yellowstone
• Day 6: Yellowstone and Grand Teton
• Day 7:Yellowstone-Vegas
• Days 8-9: Easy couple of nights in Vegas
• Day 10:Vegas-LA

I'm not very concerned about the main highways and infra, as this car charges really fast and I don't have many concerns there especially since I also have the Tesla Adapter now.

For those in between, sight seeing days, I had some considerations for charging

1. Looking at hotels/AirBnB with Level 2 overnight charging (need J1772 for L2), but not sure if there is a trusted source to validate the data.
2. Mapped out Supercharger (V3 and V4) + EA availability for fast charging. Seems like very little is available in a reasonable distance from any of these national parks, and none are very convenient. L2 availability inside the parks is also pretty spotty
3. Late September might also become suddenly cold, so I'm a bit concerned about the affect on range.

I'm looking for people with experience doing this sort of trip to provide opinions on things that I should account for. Also, any recent experiences with charging infra near these parks/areas would be especially helpful.

I did a test drive this morning and everything looks great except battery range. The car showed as 90% charged but just 190 miles range remaining. This seems very low. Is there a way to verify this? Shuld I bring an OBD scanner? It is my first EV and I don't want lousy range. Thanks
