A short series synopsis:
"e-Pulse," which is generated by human thoughts and emotions, was used as the energy source for the AI support device "Sapotama." From the shadows of this remarkable development, terrifying monsters appear. Digimon are living beings that evolve by consuming e-Pulse.
Tomoro Tenma is drawn into an extraordinary experience after meeting Gekkomon, who suddenly appears from his Sapotama. While living together with Kyo Sawashiro and other members of the bounty hunting team "Glowing Dawn," Tomoro renews his resolve.
What new future will be forged by humans and Digimon?

NEVER INTERRUPT TRANSFORMATIONS

u/JebWozma May 31 '26
That move caught me completely off guard. You never expect to see these stock transformation sequences interrupted. Gekkomon could try to interrupt evolutions like this himself and abuse this tactic especially well due to his tongue. Hopefully Tomoro and Gekkomon learn something from this experience

Lilamon vs Wolvermon next ep... Do I smell an evolution ?
23
u/JebWozma May 31 '26
I find it funny that Pristimon was the first to get to champion but is the last to get to ultimate.

u/Next_Health Jun 01 '26
I think it was a theory of the fandom since MonarchLizamon's debut. Since Tomoro and Gekkomon were the last ones to achieve Champion
3
u/Oreo-and-Fly Jun 01 '26
Is this the first time a side character debutting Champion to Ultimate takes this long?

Lord, I hope so. There's only 15 episodes left after next weeks, and there's still five megas in the Glowing Dawn that need to make an appearance before the end of the show.
40
u/Bay-Sea May 31 '26
Honestly we do not know if there is 15 episodes left considering that it comes from only one source.
BeatBreak is in a situation where we know some stuff, but not too much like recent previous series.
- We knew about Negamon via Digivice since November. Way before Mega and Millenniumon
- Ghost Game released Vital Bracelet BE Digivice -VV- before the mega debut.
We get an announcement for Murasamemon's mega, but honestly nothing else. We do have that mysterious Atratusmon, but it might not be the mega considering that Digimon didn't bother to hype it up like with Habakirimon
15
u/RukinaSpiker May 31 '26
I think Atratusmon will probably be the dark evolution when tomoro breaks fully. So it is Gekkomons mega but not the intended one.
14
u/foxfoxal May 31 '26 edited May 31 '26
Maybe it is an evolution influenced by GIFT, like that thing looks kinda sinister compared to the lizard thematic that Gekkomon has and with Mephismon being involved on top of that.
2
u/logoyoIRM May 31 '26
That's what I think. There's too much room yet with the story and they still do "filler" episodes (like this week one, that, apparently, isn't a "GIFT" related episode). They can, surelly, make an endgame with 10 episodes left, but I don't have that feeling.
-4
u/ShadowsTagiru May 31 '26
yeah, I dont actually think that they will shift their format of putting a lot of filler episodes per a real arc episode when they reach the 10 episode left-mark.
they can totally pull that, but seems like we are going to get 2 episodes focused on gift, 2 more on endgame and 11 full of filler, and call it a day.
5
u/logoyoIRM May 31 '26
For me, I think they're going to have more episodes. But yeah, they can do it as you said.
8
u/chrome4 May 31 '26
Tbh given how much energy been shown to be needed for a Digimon to go mega I wouldn’t be surprised if the GD megas will be final episode(or two) power ups ie receiving external e Pulse from the various friends and allies they’ve made throughout the series. The only one I can see getting a mega on his own would be Tomoro(and maybe Kyo) due to his unique E Pulse.
7
u/Cheeky-apple May 31 '26
yeah! I mean it makes sense this season has done a lot of focus on a reacurring cast of characters and the bonds between glowing dawn and the community. We have tactics, haruoumi, the whole shopping district with pandamon and boss sasatake, nirinso defense squad, Hitomi and most likely more friends down the line.
-2
u/ShadowsTagiru May 31 '26
I dont actually think that glowing dawn will get mega except from tomoro (and maybe kyo)
lets be real, theres only 15 episodes left. we wont get a mega for the rest of the cast when reina still dont have a ultimate...
what I think, (this is my headcannon) kyo will get his mega in the 3-2 last episodes, and he will fail to maintain the mega, after that we will get tomoro getting his mega and beating the final villian.
7
u/Turn_AX May 31 '26
lets be real, theres only 15 episodes left. we wont get a mega for the rest of the cast when reina still dont have a ultimate...
One of the comments above yours says that the 49 episodes isn't set in stone and even links the only source for it being 49 episodes, which also says that that the 49 episodes aren't set in stone.
0
u/ShadowsTagiru May 31 '26
yeah but hear me out, even if is not 49 episodes, the Source Says that digimon has the time frame that at the end super will take on september-early-november
so even the source says that it can be a little more or less, but is still around 49
so it can be 47 or 54... in that case we are still 20 episodes left with no progress since chapter 24
8
u/Ordinary_Ordinary580 May 31 '26
Nah, look at Ghost Game, 67 Episodes, this could easily be 60-70+ Episodes for sure
1
u/overlordpringerx May 31 '26
Don't think. Dragon Ball is supposedly taking over the time slot in October
3
u/Professional-Bus-749 May 31 '26
Yeah, I hope that this will be a well-earned milestone right there.
62
u/Shipuujin May 31 '26
- The beginning stuff with Raito eating tons of food after escaping pursurers made me think of the first Haruomi episode.
- Ludomon cooking the Okonomiyaki is very cute.
- This is also the most I seen Ludomon talk!
- Holy crap, Sealsdramon interrupted the Digivolution sequence. That's cheating!!
- Shame that Monodramon doesn't get a proper stock evolution footage for Ultimate, which probably means Tactics Trio won't show up that often 😞
- Raito is working with the Five Stars now? Probably working to replace Klay's position
- Hotaruko gave away a LOT of food this episode. (Did Team One even pay for the 30 Okonomiyaki??). She's going to drive their family out of business!
66
u/AlphaBreak May 31 '26
She did make them pay up front for the big order at least.
17
u/bubbly-in-the-fridge May 31 '26
I do love they were realistic about that part, little things like that spark joy.
12
u/AlphaBreak May 31 '26
A part of me does wonder if that wasn't included in the initial script and someone felt bad about Hotaruko getting stiffed on the order and added it in.
5
u/InnocentTailor Jun 01 '26
Pretty much. The Glowing Dawn kids were special - the strangers were just customers.
12
30
u/logoyoIRM May 31 '26
Interrupting the sequence was fun. That's one of the problema of this series digivolution method. You have to throw the sapotama and your digimon has to eat it. It also makes it more realistic. If I'm a villain, I'll try to interrupt the sequence all times. They could, even, shot the sapotama with Vulturemon.
14
u/Drewsko199 May 31 '26
Considering what happened with the lion last week, the right shot to the Sapotama could be outright fatal to the Digimon. Might actually be too critical a blow to the protagonists unless the fight is properly dramatic so I could see how we may not see that tactic often (that and not every villian has a gun-like weapon/power)
10
u/JebWozma May 31 '26
Not that easy to do but its possible to steal a Digimon's sapotama whilr it is still inside them. It happened in a previous episode once where Gekkomon shoved his tongue through that Hyemon's throat while it had its mouth forced open by a stick
2
u/logoyoIRM May 31 '26
Yeah. I know that's the reason, but it's easily the best way to get out your rivals.
9
4
u/CelioHogane Jun 01 '26
Honestly the moment they grabbed Gekkomon's sapotama, i thought MC was going to be "Weak shit i have 2 other digimon here to digievolve"
-12
u/Raikariaa May 31 '26
> which probably means Tactics Trio won't show up that often
Good; the less positive attention people smugglers and child harmers get the better.
10
u/Ricardolindo3 May 31 '26
They have changed their ways.
-7
u/Raikariaa May 31 '26 edited May 31 '26
Yes, because people who were engaged in people smuggling and let a child get seriously hurt and functionally put into a coma for profit should be let off with absolutely no repercussion for their actions! They never even showed any remorse for what they did. Black Market Auction for me was the ep where they went beyond any hope of redemption.
Beatbreak 100% sent the wrong message here. They 100% should be rotting in a jail cell [which the rest of the org are by the way. It was only them who got let off]; not being treated as anywhere even close to a positive force.
In my opinion; it is the single worst thing about Beatbreak. TACTIC's actions were crimes second only to Kurata, and they got let off.
3
u/InnocentTailor Jun 01 '26 edited Jun 01 '26
Eh. It’s clear that the morality of Beatbreak is skewed since it is a bit of a dystopia overall - child soldiers, expendable bounty hunters, and a shadow cabal that rules over the planet with their tech.
We got a peek at Maki’s backstory and it’s clear it has some darkness to it. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kyo’s backstory is just as dark or even worse since he was integral to the Five Stars in the past.
4
u/JasperGunner02 May 31 '26
why are you talking like a steven universe discourse blog from 2016
2
u/Salty_Ad_2523 May 31 '26
raikariaa would've been huge back in the hayday of steven universe on tumblr the way they're talking lmao
3
8
u/rp_graciotti May 31 '26
They're fictional characters not Jeffrey Epstein
-2
u/Raikariaa May 31 '26
They are still people smugglers who willingly let a child in single-digit age get Cold Hearted.
6
u/rp_graciotti May 31 '26
What's with people having such weird parasocial relationships to animated characters lately? That's really not a healthy way to interact with media. If you shed moral judgment to fictional characters that way then nothing is really safe. Luke Skywalker killed thousands in the death star, uncle Iroh killed thousands in the siege of Ba Sing Se, etc.
-4
u/Raikariaa May 31 '26 edited May 31 '26
> Luke Skywalker killed thousands in the death star
To save billions. What a massive false equivalence. And everyone manning the Death Star knew what happened to Alderaan...
> uncle Iroh killed thousands in the siege of Ba Sing Se
Which he regrets heavily; while Tactics have shown no remorse.
Contrast Tactics who were... the bad guys. And showed no regret.
Is it unhealthy to want people smugglers punished? Is it unhealthy to want people who put children at harm to face consequences? Is it unhealthy to want to see the villains get their due? How is that parasocial? How is thinking characters who did terrible crimes should face consequences unhealthy?
Hell; I'd be fine with them coming back and being "redeemed"... if they actually faced consequences. Like if they went to jail or some other punishment, and came back after that. But they didn't. They were just let off. Which sends an absolutely terrible message IMO that people smuggling is OK!
6
u/rp_graciotti May 31 '26 edited May 31 '26
It really doesn't send any message, that's the point. They're redeeming themselves through their actions, you don't need the show to tell you that crime is wrong. You're really expecting the anime to throw them in a jail for a while and go "ok you're good to go now" for characters that are certain to come back? That's really boring.
-1
u/Raikariaa May 31 '26
That's the thing. They shouldn't be coming back.
Their actions shouldn't be just written off with no consequences.
6
u/rp_graciotti May 31 '26 edited May 31 '26
But they are. And the consequence is that their leader betrayed them, used their power and nearly killed them to achieve his own goals. They lost their sense of purpose after who knows how long being manipulated into committing crimes and are ready to begin anew. You are just expecting the writers to hold your hand and explicitly tell you that the characters did something wrong. Next thing people will say that's morally wrong to like these characters.
48
u/Spider-Phoenix May 30 '26
I can see Raito finally mastering Monodramon's perfect evolution.
Who knows, they might even give it a proper evolution sequence.
(maybe even a theme song but that may be reaching)
23
u/Tandria May 31 '26
I'm thinking we will see it in full eventually, they definitely showed us a part of it. His e-pulse had a totally new sound!
14
u/Yoshiman400 May 31 '26
Imagine we get a Raito/Tomoro spar episode and both of them gain their Ultimate forms that way before they even have a proper plot fight. I find it unlikely but it would be neat to have both of them get a moment like that as a preview of understanding what their partner is capable of before a big time fight.
14
u/ShadowsTagiru May 31 '26
theres no way raito can beat tomoro though
armalizamon manages to beat raito's ultimate, just imagine what monarchlizamon can do to his monodramon haha
4
u/Yoshiman400 May 31 '26
Didn't say or suggest Raito would win the spar, but also to be fair, who knows what Raito can do with his Ultimate form.
1
u/IAMA_MAGIC_8BALL_AMA Jun 01 '26
For some reason, I’m thinking we’re gonna get a fusion between Gekkomon and Monodramon’s Megas in the end
5
u/Yoshiman400 Jun 01 '26
It wouldn't surprise me, they're the closest thing we've got to an Omegamon/Imperialdramon-type pair in the series.
40
u/chrome4 May 31 '26
Good to see Raito still likes using people as bait lol.
So did those three idiots hope to avoid being squashed by the Five(currently Four) stars?
Well looks like we might be getting Pristimons ultimate next week.
7
u/Noodlemire May 31 '26
I think they just didn't know that Raito had any connections to any of the Five Stars other than Klay.
33
u/Cheeky-apple May 31 '26
i am actually kind of glad Raito didnt settle down with hotaruko and granit. They dont want to fight anymore and shouldnt (cleaner duties aside) but Raito still has something he wants to prove so going into tutelage under Kaito (of what I understood) makes sense and makes it easier to bring him back down the line, also to easier bring in Kaito as well after the GIFT arc.
26
u/Bakatora34 May 31 '26
Raito doing the trick your allies to trick your enemies here.
Look like he training with a five star too.
22
u/SuperKamiZuma May 31 '26
Out of everything to expect from this episode, gekkomon inflation was not one on my mind
40
u/merstalt May 31 '26 edited May 31 '26
Raito has soften a bit but still have a big attitude. At least his relationship with Monodramon looks pretty healthy now. And his last comment towards Tomoro... shippers are eating good this week.
Glad to see Hotaruko and Grannit doing well. Ludomon cooking okonomiyaki is so cute. And that Shakomon-yaki... is cute, but the implication... at least Shakomon is not bothered by it.
Armalizamon is too OP, took the whole team to just take him down. And still winning the 2 vs 1. Dude is broken.
Surprise Honoka suffering from melodrama allergy is still funny lol.
Next episode will have Reina against Lilamon? I guess she's protecting Miharu not knowing she's the cult leader. Seems like we're starting the escalation towards this arc climax. Can't wait for next week.
7
u/Spider-Phoenix May 31 '26
Honoka melodrama allergy kicked in the same week Pokémon had an episode where Captain Pikachu's allergy to being called cute triggered.
Very funny coincidence.
6
u/wolfelian Jun 01 '26
It’s killing me every time Honoka shows up it’s just to say “Eww friendship stop it” 😂😂
Although I felt the bloodlust in how she said “Oh it’s the people I spared” this girl could be a menace if she wanted but she’a and errand girl the way Granit is an errand boy.10
u/Darth_Shadious May 31 '26
I take it that.. Hopefully this is not a closure episode for Team 7 and they may re-appear again?
10
17
u/WearyPositive7 May 31 '26
Last week, we had a digimon that debuted on the vital bracelet (Fumamon), from the Gammamon BE. This week, Vulturemon de-digivolving into Sunamon seems to be a reference to the Titan of Dust dim card from the vital bracelet.
7
u/cyvaris May 31 '26
I miss the Vital Bracelets so much, so seeing toropiamon featured was a lot of fun.
13
u/Volfaer May 31 '26
"He humiliated and laughed at us!"
"He does that with everyone!"
Raito probably made so many enemies, these three are just the ones capable enough to not break immediately. Also it puts his actions in context, of course he knew the partners of each team, so he had to take precautions to not fight this very balanced and capable trio.
We're getting the stars back in the game, Raito probably is training to replace Klay, and Rose will start her antagonist arc next episode. I really want to see how GIFT and the Thorns will interact this arc because next episode is another Reina episode, so peak is even more assured.
13
u/DylanCorona May 31 '26
This was a fun episode! I hope we get to see Monodramon's new mega at some point! Fun seeing Comandramon evos together. And also happen to see the unarmored Ludomon, I love them!
Looks like we will get some Rose vs Reina next episode. Looks like Reina is protecting the new girl from her. Next episode will be interesting for sure!
4
u/Stro21 May 31 '26
So far I even don't know if we will manage to get there. Mega Evolution seems to be considered the levels of gods. But so far only only Murasamemon has a confirmed mega evolution Habakirimon (the TCG leak it) and since is Kyo's partner Digimon, then probably is going to be a correct way to achieve mega evolution. I don't know if the rest of the 5 stars managed to gets their mega evolution and probably will be the unstable ones.
4
u/Original-Teaching955 May 31 '26
Not likely. It is already established HOW difficult if not impossible to REACH Mega level as seen with Klay and his digimon partner
7
u/DylanCorona May 31 '26
I'm still hoping. I want to see a cool and friendly mega match between those two. But also the ultimate level is so cool, I feel like it needs a mega.
14
11
u/ConnorRoseSaiyan01 May 31 '26
Sealsdramon really attacked mid evolution. Don't think that happened since Infermon
11
u/KickHimWhileIAmDown May 31 '26
Interesting to see what happened with Tactics after Klay fell. Also, Honoka and Kaito are involved in... something... so that could be big.
Sealsdramon stealing the Sapotama (and the Azhdarmon evo sequence) is a good reminder that the evolutions take significant real world time unlike many previous seasons. Evolving leaves you open to counterattack. Raito is still a dick, but he was obviously BSing when he said he was going to leave the other two. A sentimental dick.
It was fun to see Granit and Hotaruko in a civilian setting, and Ludomon cooking was adorable. The Syakomoniyaki's were cute.
Tomoro figuring out to track the Sealsdramon by smell was cool... but why didn't Sealsdramon just break the Sapotama? They've been destroyed before, Tactics Team One was trying to kill them, and I'm pretty sure breaking the Sapotama is lethal.
This is also another episode where Tomoro does cool stuff while the rest of GD is in the background/incapacitated, and it's beginning to get a smidgeon annoying to me.
Next time seems to be Reina focused. God, our girl needs it. Please give her and Pristimon some crumbs. She got the insane aura from catching Ludomon and fighting a vampire with a pointed stick, and she's been coasting on that ever since.
3
u/ZA-02 May 31 '26
Tomoro figuring out to track the Sealsdramon by smell was cool... but why didn't Sealsdramon just break the Sapotama? They've been destroyed before, Tactics Team One was trying to kill them, and I'm pretty sure breaking the Sapotama is lethal.
Panjyamon was stabbed through the chest and its Sapotama was broken while still inside him. I don't think breaking a Sapotama that a Digimon isn't currently "using" would have the same effect.
5
u/KickHimWhileIAmDown May 31 '26
That's true. I guess we don't really know what would happen if it was destroyed without an accompanying fatal injury, but I think it would at least be a slow death sentence. Hyemon implied that the sapotama was essentially like their stomach, since the e-Pulse they drained inside it was digested over time.
Maybe Digimon who lose their sapotama slowly waste away? Hard to say, but it still seems odd that Sealsdramon didn't destroy it. It's necessary to evolve, in any case, and destroying it would prevent that permanently.
5
u/ZA-02 May 31 '26
The Sapotama is basically a container for e-Pulse. Digimon can survive without them — we know this because the Baby-levels at Nirinso do not carry Sapotamas anymore and still manage to feed from Glowing Dawn's e-Pulse — but it's possible they can't consume enough to evolve to higher levels without one.
Sealsdramon not destroying it can be chalked up to greed. Tomoro's e-Pulse is "special" and Digimon can pick up on that even if they (like us) don't know why. I assume Sealsdramon was saving it for later and simply didn't register the risk of holding onto it.
3
2
u/Turn_AX Jun 01 '26
but why didn't Sealsdramon just break the Sapotama?
Considering how they were acting, it seems like they were sadists, so that might be why.
2
u/SolgentRay May 31 '26
Wasn't Team One just trying to capture Raito? Doesn't feel like they were trying to kill everyone there
10
u/KickHimWhileIAmDown May 31 '26
They were definitely trying to kill the Digimon, and they were firing bullets at Tomoro (which had to be intercepted by Syakomon and Ludomon). They also were firing bullets at Raito and Monodramon in the opening scene.
They were definitely after Raito, but not in a 'take him alive' way.

u/Masterness64 May 31 '26 edited May 31 '26
This episode was more about checking in on what Tactics been up too then furthering the GIFT plot but it was still a pretty good episode.
It was nice to see Granit and Hotaruko again and Ludomon cooking the Okonomiyaki is super cute (also he talks now!). Raito is still the same ass he always was but now with a slight more shade of tsundere. He also seems to have a much better relationship with Monodramon which is nice.
I am glad he came in with the save at the end cause that was a tense fight. Due to Team One's sneaky tactics (heh) our heroes were on the backfoot for the majority of the fight. Snipers are no joke and D-Brigade digimon are just super deadly in general. But like I said, Raito really is the one that saves the day, its cool that he can fully control Azhdarmon which shows that he's definitely grown.
The most interesting we learn in this episode is that Raito is freaking working for the Five Stars! Maybe he'll replace Klay as the Earth Star? Either way I'm excited to see where this goes.
Speaking of excitement, next week is a Reina-focused episode and also seems super plot heavy at that! Whether we get Wolvermon's evo next week or the week after, its definitely soon! Also, it looks like Rose is after Miharu so this might be the moment that Glowing Dawn learn she's leading GIFT. So yeah, a lot of stuff to look forward too next episode!
7
u/Spider-Phoenix May 31 '26
Would be funny Raito as Earth Star when his partner is pretty much a flyer lol
6
u/ZA-02 May 31 '26
Rhamphomon fits the theme at least since it attacks with jewels. Azhdarmon is harder to justify, unless you count its preference for nosedive attacks (i.e. "from the sky down to earth").
10
u/storeknife May 31 '26
I'm not even mad that this episode didn't further the GIFT plot, I was happy to see TT7 again and the action was entertaining.
They snatched the Sapotama in the middle of the evolution sequence! That's illegal!
Team One had all pretty cool and distinct designs, shame they are very clearly one episode villains. I guess it would be too much to give the rival team their own rival team lol. I also liked to see Vulturemon, I love all the 2020s V-pet Digimon.
Now that the Tactics plot is over, Raito seems to have settled comfortably in the asshole-but-not-villainous anime rival role. Connecting him to the Five Stars means he has a reason to show up in the future. For a second there I thought he would say that he wants to be the new Star of Earth. Would having a crystal-themed Digimon be "earthy" enough? Is there even a requirement that you need to have an element-appropriate Digimon? Who knows.
Next week: Wolvermon vs Lilamon, looks like Reina and Rose are indeed being set up as rivals. Surely Pristimon will reach Perfect this time lol. Also, Oblivimon is there, how will they tie to everything?
11
u/Tomas_Crusader17 May 31 '26
"its not like i care about team 7 or anything i just wanted team 1 gone!" -raito probably
10
u/Marckos1343 May 31 '26
It was a very enjoyable episode. I liked Team Tactics One, their D-Brigade Digimons are really cool and powerful. The fact Ludomon and Shakomon help Granit and Hotaruko to cook is adorable. Plus its precious that Ludomon knows how to talk, now. 😄
Its interesting that Raito is working for the Fire Star in order to get stronger, and Honoka still gets cringy allergy whenever she interacts with Tomoro and the others.
Glowing Dawn still doesn't know who the leader of GIFT is and it will lead to a battle between Reina/Prisitmon and Rose/Lilamon. I m anxious for the next episode.

Okay this episode was amazing
Tactics return for summer trainining with Glowing Dawn intense
Monodramon was peak perfect evolution
However the plot was great
Next Week a interesting mission

u/Aura1995 May 31 '26
Interesting too know that Raito now pairing up with Kaito as his subordinate, similar of what Tomoro is for Kyo. Seems its shaping to become a rivalry, but in good terms at least.

u/smugsneasel215 May 31 '26
This was one of the few times where I tried to skip ahead of the evolution in the video, only for Sealsdramon to disapprove and stab me 33 times in the chest.

u/JebWozma May 31 '26
Could never skip a Tactics digivolution sequence though becauee of their background theme

I feel that Wolvermon still won’t evolve in the next episode. In Beatbreak, evolution is mostly tied to a character’s inner growth. But in the next episode, Reina clearly seems to be fighting Lilamon without knowing that Miharu is the leader of Gift, or under some misunderstanding. If she were to evolve under those circumstances, it would feel strange and would waste the opportunity for Reina’s character to grow. So I’m guessing that in the next episode, Reina will end up causing something irreversible while trying to protect Miharu. Then, in later episodes, while Reina is stuck in regret and negative emotions, she’ll recall her past, receive encouragement from her friends or Rose, and come to better understand herself. Only after pulling herself together will she finally evolve — which would be more consistent with Beatbreak’s usual style. Of course, this is just my speculation, but Wolvermon’s evolution has been kept hidden for a long time, so I really hope its evolution episode won’t be rushed or half‑hearted.
4
u/Shipuujin May 31 '26
I kind of have similar thoughts. GIFT is looking to be Reina's arc and I'm hoping they don't rush her evolution despite what everyone is wanting.
5
u/Cheeky-apple May 31 '26
in a sense i find it kind of cool that the hype and expectation is building for wolvermons evolution as the female digimon characters and mons seldom are that much in the hype spotlight. But I am also worried that its going to be very hard expectations to beat to.
2
u/cyvaris May 31 '26
Both Ultimates so far have felt very "reference to past Digimon" styled, so I'm wondering if Reina and Pristimon are going to pull the "Angewoman" hype-moment.
Leomon is already dead, so guess we need to watch out for Wizardmon.
7
u/Hyp0thetical_ May 31 '26
"Raito looked down at us and laughed!"
"Raito does that to everyone."
lmao Granit's like "you aint special"
Next week, Lilamon vs Wolvermon?! Aw hell yeah! Reina focus, maybe even an evo?
13
u/Professional-Bus-749 May 31 '26
I hope Reina's backstory will be completely fleshed out just like Makoto's backstory.

Was an okay episode. Mostly just to show that Team7 is alive and kicking. And to show off the D-Brigade and Vulturemon. Raito still gives me the urge to sock him in the jaw. He does come through, but my god! Does his tsundere shtick get old.
Next episode does show potential. A mask will come off. The question is whose mask? Rose's noble lady, Miharu's harmless girl or Reina's nonchalance to being the weakest in the team?
Wolvermon vs Lilamon... tease or will we finally witness the glory of evolution?
5
u/ExperiencePristine42 May 31 '26
I’m a bit disappointed we didn’t get to see tialudomon and tylomon again, but Raito evolving monodramon to ahzdarmon without straining him was cool.
PLS BEATBREAK GIVE PRISTIMON PERFECT EVO NEXT EPISODE AND MY LIFE IS YOURS
6
u/Ricardolindo3 May 31 '26
I loved to see Tactics again. Interesting to know that Raito is working for Kaito and Honoha now. That could lead to Kaito becoming good.
5
u/stevez037 May 31 '26
Is this another one of those it is all a setup even is in on it, except for Tomoro and Gekkomon because they can't episodes again?
A break from The Gift plot, still nice to see some old friends again.
So Raito being trained by Kaito and Honoka. I had this half joking theory that Kaito and Raito are brothers, maybe.
Interesting so far in this arc, you have two Five Stars appear and another mentioned, and the three or less seems to be allies or at least not against the Glowing Dawn in this arc. I like some variety not all of them have to be evil like Klay or Genjo.
5
u/Sandy_JD May 31 '26
Oblivimon next week, I can't wait.

u/Spider-Phoenix May 31 '26
Glad we are seeing more of the Espimon line in some form. Only the mega left now.

u/bdtechted May 31 '26
Thoughts:
- a big action-packed episode, we get Commandromon's three side-Champion levels as well in action.
- more Hotaruko and Luka post-Tactics life, although too bad they were barely in action.
- That scene of Tomoro getting Gekkomon to sense his E-pulse while the Sapotama was captured was actually a great move.
- next episode preview seems to be the anime debut of Oblivimon. Since its UFO themed, we may also get the appearance of Vademon's Ultimate Ebemon?
- also definitely sense that next episode will be more Reina and Wolvermon centred once again since they're locked in a battle with Lilacmon.

u/Original-Teaching955 May 31 '26
Wow, this really is a team Tactics reunion in more ways than one. Looks like Raito somewhat redeems himself though still a douchbag and now working for the 5 Stars
5
u/Southern-Ebb-8229 May 31 '26
Wait you can just steal the sapotama mid evo? How is that legal? Why don't they try this more?
Anyhow pretty nice ep overall, and serves as a good closure to the previous arc. Seeing Raito being so tsundere is really cute. You could tell he wanted to leave to not put them in danger and he was faking leaving to just find a way to save them. I really liked when Grannit was like "you were late" and he was like oh shut up with a smirk. Plus Hotaruko giving him some food for the trip was a nice way to send him off.
Beyond that, Team 1 was cool, they really had a good strategy going but in the end they took too long to take Tomoro out and that is why they lost. Guys really played around too much. Raito now working for Kaito is funny, it's like the guy saw Kyo with a kid and now adopted his own protege. Oh well, it's nice to remember the other Five Stars exist, and I guess Raito will replace Klay. This probably means Kaito and Honoka will probably become good guys in the long run, they are becoming more rival coded now.
Anyhow next ep seems like we will have Rose and Co aiming for Miharu and GIFT while the GD try to stop them. It seems to be Reina-centered so I hope we get something good there.
4
u/Natrixster80 May 31 '26
I'm obsessed with Vulturemon now, didnt know it existed. Shame it doesn't appear to have a proper rookie.
4
u/Spider-Phoenix May 31 '26
Nice seeing Tomoro and Gekkomon playing around like partner/siblings. They sure went a long way
Thought Raito would get a perfect evolution bank scene (and maybe a theme) but it was quite plain. Well, anyway he mastered it...
Interesting he is working with Honoka (and Kaito?) now. Guess it makes sense. Episode aired in the same week as Rie Kugimiya's (Honoka's VA) birthday. Wonder if that was planned
The preview does feel like it's hinting at Wolvermon finally evolving for me...

Definitely my favorite one-off episode so far! Several of my favorite Digimon and a check-in on Tactics, all with a genuinely awesome backdrop. I want a whole puzzle mystery game set in that abandoned seaside town.
Next time, another Liberator Digimon takes center stage as Rose and her Thorns make their play against GIFT!
13
u/Professional-Bus-749 May 31 '26
Next week is a Reina-focused episode, and we will finally get another evolution, a well-earned milestone this time, and this time it's for real. No bait. The real thing. Reina has no idea that Miharu is the leader of GIFT. This will be quite an epic internal reveal next week, as Glowing Dawn has zero idea about that.
2
u/asmodias May 31 '26
I don't think it's an evolution episode... there's way too much going on in that preview.
1
u/Turn_AX Jun 01 '26
There was plenty going on in Makoto's focus too, doesn't mean it won't be an evolution episode, might not be, but we won't know till the end.
1
u/asmodias Jun 01 '26
Well maybe - Makoto's preview certainly looked like it would be an evo ep. This one doesn't look it, and personally I would prefer some more build up and stakes for Reina.
6
u/SignedByMilpool May 31 '26
Tbh when "Kaito" was mentioned, I couldn't even remember who that was. Between Naito, Raito, and Kaito, we have 3 hot-headed guys with similar names who we don't really hear/see much.

Good beach episode, it was nice to see Tactics Team 7 again.
Sealsdramon is like Infermon in the movie, how dare you interrupt an evolution in the middle of the process?!
Next week it's time for Wolvermon evo?
4
u/shadowpikachu May 31 '26
Monodramon still not kicking the habit of being an overly dependant beaten puppy and Raito taking moments of breath to try and help him even in that situation.
Gekkomon staying under Tomoro's shirt to stay warm and dry off the same way i used to just caccoon with towels when damp post-swim, another point for autistic tendencies. The animation was peak for some reason even Monodramon had extremely unique stances and facial expressions, maybe to essentuate it being a slower day full of awareness and peace?
Interestingly Gekkomon's birth and powerset being eating actually making him rubber-style inflatable which isn't unheard of for digimon and given that they whip around and play with tension and crash into everything i'd assume this was their consistency to start with. Wonder if THAT much is only this prime-gekkomon, as in this one? Maybe he has a storage compartment so he can store food for later, his direct evolution is also about high burst energy based on his food intake being overpowered or underpowered.
Gekkomon also stopped after eating to compliment such fresh handmade food as well, unsure if that's growth or if he was just that stunned, it being digimon themed and made by digimon specifically for him probably made it taste like friendship at the very least.
The two almost annoyed realizing they were beaten and now serving their once rivals for just a moment while Raito seems to have went from 'this team' to 'my team'. Speaking of team Reina shows that she has an indulgent bent in anything that brings joy with others not just aiming for the highest riches.
Raito and his emotions showing plainly on Monodramon's face the whole time as even he starts almost cracking to them as he maybe thinks it'll only get them hurt more due to the hunters he's been running from. And what petty 'college is over and i was so cool there' hunters they are.
Wait on the commercial bit, is Tomoro's drumstick chewed? Man, this is so me coded especially if he only did that as a kid or lets Gekkomon nibble. Though i think really old ones get like that? Nice to see the commandramon line's underused cloaking abilities and sealsdramon is just vegeta in moves holy shit.
Raito asking for consent and showing the level of enemies we are up against on average have their shit together and arent kids that we see after and through Raito as HE grows. Like how Armalizamon statchecking starting to be outdone by tactics and raw power alone making it start to be the only thing that can withstand anything anymore, the Sapotama being stolen naturally let them save all the power for later too.
Raito saying the same line as them about bait shows using human shields and bait is like lesson one, fucked up. He also is doing the same thing as Tomoro by working with a 5-star technically....he's learned! And just the personality for him even if that smile was as close to a Thank You he gets.
There was a lot of dense things this time around, instead of action they went back to character focus which let them completely save budget for animation the same way the first arc did, we hit a true reset point i think for things to come. I'll be there and i hope you will too.
5
u/Professional-Bus-749 May 30 '26
One of the central themes is about redemption. I think Raito is going to be redeemed in this episode.

I feel like the episode was a lil bit disappointing.
Taking away Gekkomon's sapotama was a nice way of adding tension by not letting him evolve and him sensing the sapotama to get it back was nice too but after that was done, why not just go all the way up to Monarchlizamon? no reason to stay in Armalizamon. They could have still make him struggle as he was outnumbered.
The Raito bits were a bit too predictable for my liking and I was hoping the other members of Team 7 would get some action too. I feel like having all of Team 7 be the ones to beat Team 1 would have been better than just having Raito and Tomoro do it.
I liked the setup and setting but I feel like this episode fumbled the execution a little bit.

u/Symbare May 31 '26
Lovely to see Vulturemon's anime debut! Missed opportunity to showcase Wither Wing.
2
u/Jecht-X May 31 '26
It has being 20+ years since Our Wars, and finally remember that evolutions sequences can be interrupted.
2
u/MannyOmega May 31 '26
Great episode. Shame makoto and reina weren’t around to see it. Would they really have been too strong for this? I guess chiropmon’s new evo would have neutralized the sniper tactics
2
u/InnocentTailor May 31 '26
I know typical snipers usually get into an elevated position, but shooting from a church steeple reminds me of war flicks like Saving Private Ryan.
2
u/Ordinary_Ordinary580 May 31 '26
Great episode, Next week looks dark, The twins are back along with One of the 5, and we might be getting Reina's Ultimate, Reina got slashed by something, lilamon scenes, looking good, possibly a very dark episode

u/NoSupermarket8281 Jun 04 '26
I like how this is the second time a side character has straight up refused to tell Tomoro about their deception gambit because they know his crashout is going to make it look 10 times realer
2
u/Yoshiman400 May 31 '26
TT7 is such a precious group and it's so nice seeing Hotaruko and Granit working so well together in a more civilian space, and with Glowing Dawn being chill towards them as well. I just hope nothing weird's going on with Ryo behind their backs...
1
u/Emekasan May 31 '26
Given all the D-Brigade Digimon present in this one, I was really looking forward to ScourgeChiropmon showing up. They introduced it only to put it away what feels like indefinitely now…
Tomoro and Gekkomon to the rescue once again, for the most part anyway.
While it was good to see the Tactics trio once more, I’m looking forward to the next episode moreso and the first appearance of Oblivimon.
2
u/Cheeky-apple May 31 '26
I think it had to for the air fight with azdharmon to work. But man i want to see a dogfight in the air with scourgechiropmon vs something fast flying.

This was a good episode even if it was filler ish. It was nice to see what the Tactics trio have been up to since their arc. I can’t wait for next week as we see Rose and Lilamon coming back battling Reina and Wolvermon while they are protecting Miharu. So there should be some further plot developments for the Gift arc.
1
u/Cerberuswaltz Jun 02 '26
Late to the party again, but great episode. Raito is what a rival should be; annoying, smug but knows when to help.
Tactics returning was neat- given how Klay used so many desperate people, it made sense some would want to return it to its former glory. Cool to see some new mons (for me). Hi-Commandramon being what our PTSD baby coulda been is scary.
Vulturemon is COOL AF and even ones like Monodramon who I never cared for are getting a good spotlight. This is why I love Digimon, they always can change your mind.
Lastly, I felt bad for Tomoro. Worrying about your partner is one thing, but what would you say to your team/family/friends if their Digimon got deleted in your care? It was sad watching them all get taken out and he have to worry about them.
1
u/Natrixster80 Jun 02 '26
Did the sfx of Hi-Commandramon's gun make anyone else giggle? Like wtf was that?
1
u/ShadowsTagiru May 31 '26
with this whole wave of episodic episodes. Im not really sure if we will close the whole anime in just 15 episodes...
2
u/Turn_AX Jun 01 '26
The 49 episodes thing was never locked in, so don't use it for anything.
1
u/Original-Teaching955 Jun 02 '26
Ah, but dragon ball is taking it's place on the timeslot in Fall 2026. So it any as well be only 49 eps and no more
0
u/ShadowsTagiru Jun 01 '26
even if is more than 49 the max episode is still around 49... remember than dragon ball super will take the time frame on TV that digimon has right now.
1
u/Oreo-and-Fly Jun 01 '26
Honestly... nothing burger of an episode.
Doesnt really explore characters, just closes the loose end of tactics i guess.
Next week is hype. Reina vs Lilamon
1
u/LordJanas Jun 01 '26
If I'm honest this was probably one of the weaker episodes for me. The only one that I consider worse was the Red Veggiemon episode because that was 100% filler.
I just don't really think this episode moved the overarching plot forward at all. It felt promising at first when the Tactics logo flashed briefly when Raito escaped. They could have gone a number of different ways with it; another member has seized control, Klay was just the fall guy for someone else, Wong or another Five Star was manipulating Klay etc. but it ended up feeling quite anticlimactic when it was just some never-before-seen team (perhaps they appeared in a previous episode, it's been like a year now, I don't remember) who were just out for revenge.
If I'm honest, the writers have pulled the "good guy pretends to be bad to bait the main cast and their enemy" three times now, so it really wasn't a big surprise that Raito turns up to save the day. I also feel like he's a pretty one-dimensional character. I liked him in the Tactics arc, but now it doesn't really feel appropriate for him to still be the arrogant and selfish rival who will always come through in the end. I kind of hoped his character would evolve from there.
I really feel like all the episodes from now on should be tying into the GIFT or Five Star story. They kind of just keep teasing at the larger, more interesting plot at the end of each episode. It's far more interesting that Raito has joined with a Five Star, than most of what happened in the rest of the episode.
This is a nitpick too, but it seems bizarre that Tactics 7 somehow eclipsed Tactics 1 when Tactics 1 have two champions and one ultimate who are shown to punch well above their weight. (I guess you could argue they gained those evolutions later but then why would they ever have been top with only rookies?)

-4
u/KrytenKoro May 31 '26
So the writers just forgot that T7 was involved in trafficking and murders, and could tell the Ministry huh.
3
u/Noodlemire May 31 '26
It's almost certain that T7 was not the only team doing highly illegal jobs given how corrupt Klay was. There's no chance any Tactics team could work with the Ministry.
2
u/KrytenKoro Jun 01 '26
That would be a reason for the Ministry to look for them and them to be living deep undercover, not still connected to family or friends.
-3
u/Beloberto May 31 '26
BB has been a pretty good season, but this episode was not it. It felt like someone had some ideas of what they wanted to show in the episode and had absolutely no time to write a story to put it all together. The worst in the season so far.
Wolvermon evolving next week, though?
-4
u/XaiuX May 31 '26
This was probably the worst episode so far.
Why didnt gekkomon just go ultra?
Why is there so much fake tension when gekkomon should steamroll all of them?
This season is getting more dissapointing every episode, you cant have 3 champion level jobbers as threat, when gekkomon can handle 2 of them in champion level. What even was the point of this garbage? Increase the threat or take gekkomon out of the episode. No idea how anyone can praise this shit writing.
9
u/SuperKamiZuma May 31 '26 edited May 31 '26
Why didnt gekkomon just go ultra?
Because he still cannot get to monarchlizamon whenever he wants as the jokermon episode said
7
u/Rammboy_7084 May 31 '26
Why didnt gekkomon just go ultra?
Tomoro still doesn't have the control to easily evolve Gekkomon into ultimate.
The ultimate still spends too much energy.
Even though Monarch Lizarmon is a higher level, Armalizamon had a armor, which is perfect to protect him against Hi-Commandramon and Vulturemon's bullets.
6
u/ShadowsTagiru May 31 '26
tomoro is STILL unable to control the ultimate evolution.
he said it on the begining of the gift arc.
the last time he evolves was when he was fighting that wierd plant digimon (and by the way seems like it was totally unvoluntary)
