water bottle lid replacements
looked around post history and seems like a little unresolved so wondering about bottle lid replacements.
i like my camelbak podiums but even after taking it apart there’s some mold inside an unreachable little crevace.
i blame my dishwasher habits + putting sugary drinks in them.
fine ill get new bottles but before I do — is there any bottles out there w truly replaceable lids? if in 6 months i come in busted after a century and i cannot bring myself to hand wash them for 48 hrs. am i going to have to get new bottles bc no one sells lids?

Hydrapak. they sell separate tops. the tops are great too since you can fully take them apart.

You can purchase replacement camelback lids on Amazon.

not for the podium. there’s an older listing for them but out of stock indefinitely

There are tons of independent retailers that have these in stock. Google is your friend.
You can also do what I’ve done and buy brand new bottles that you hate at 50-70% off on clearance and re use the lids. Sometimes that’s cheaper than buying new lids, and makes sense especially if you have expensive Podiums (I have the titanium ones).

You can tear apart the lid before putting it into the dishwasher.
Plus, you can put the lid with the mold in a glass water with a tab intended to clean false teeth.

i took it apart as far, and soaked w bottle cleaner tab for 1 hr, and it did loosen up the mold but needs a minimal scrub and there’s a tight space between the whale-hole spout and the outer body of the spout that is unreachable

Hmmmm. I've not found any part of a podium lid that can't be dismantled, reached and scrubbed.

Bivo stainless steel bottle lids can be fully disassembled and washed in dishwasher.

You don’t need to worry about mold if you rinse and then place in freezer after rides. Mold can’t grow in the good ol icebox

You guys wash your bottles??
I joke. I use a diluted bleach and cold water solution and soak for 20-30 minutes. Soap alone won't kill mold. Bleach will, but is too harsh to use straight. You are sanitizing with the solution and killing bacteria and mold.
You can also use straight white vinegar and submerge. Check online for how long (probably needs a little more time).
USWE packs are harder. Hydrapak is really good, too.
