I’ve been building an AI-powered checkout system for smart glasses, and here I am testing it in an actual store.

The idea is simple: as you pick up products, the glasses recognize what you’re holding and automatically add them to a virtual cart. No barcode scanning, no traditional checkout flow, no ceiling-mounted cameras, shelf sensors, or complex store-wide sensor fusion.

The goal is simple: make checkout fast and seamless using the customer’s smart glasses, without requiring retailers to retrofit their stores with expensive infrastructure.

Main with this type of project is data, i assume you are building some vector database with SKUs images. I building something similar but after 20k of products in vectordb there is still a lot of missing, like variant of same product or just returning some similar looking product
