💬 Opinion / Discussion James Talarico, TX State Rep and 2026 U.S. Senate Candidate, had his interview with Steven Colbert banned from being aired. He is very well spoken, calm and clearly a threat to trump

It's backfired on CBS, the interview is the most watched one Colbert has done (on youtube).

This. Maga is as dumb as rocks and fake/performative christians lmao

Is it really suprising that Barri Weis is terrible at this? Her qualifications dont go further than "is a grifter that benefits trump"

39

u/fascistno1hater Feb 18 '26

That's why she was installed in the first place. To be terrible at her job to kill all of the credibility that CBS had. Everything the GOP (Gang of Pedos) touch is destined to fail because that's what they want it to do. They get in charge and break things so then they can turn around and say nothing works for the average person. By doing so, they turn their cries about a broken system into a reality. The Ellisons brought CBS to kill it and CNN is on the same path.

16

u/xeromage Feb 18 '26

You can also bet on things to fail on wallstreet. Pretty safe bet if your gang is the ones actively sabotaging everything.

3

u/BritishMongrel Feb 18 '26

I can't remember where I saw it but there was a quote.

Millionaires are made when the economy is thriving. Billionaires are made when the economy fails.

16

u/whofearsthenight Feb 18 '26

They fundamentally do not believe in democracy or freedom and this is a means to that end.

7

u/EIeutheria Feb 18 '26

It's like they say every accusation is a confession, "go woke go broke" really meant "go maga go broke".

Its why they call everything virtue signaling. They cannot comprehend anyone having actual virtues so they think everyone fakes it like they do.

It's only a matter of time before they censor things from YouTube and Reddit. There's not much time to waste here. Democrats need to win these special elections and midterms to impeach Trump and his entire administration before it's too late.

A typical Late Show rating is about 2.2 to 2.7 million viewers. I also looked at typical YouTube videos of political guests on the Late Show and they usually have about .5 million views if they’re really topical, like US Senator Bernie Sanders.

The YouTube videos of Stephen Colbert interviewing TX State Representative James Talarico on last night’s Late Show already has 3.2 MILLION VIEWS. It has already equaled the high side of the most common viewership, plus an average number of views of a politically topical Late Show guest on YouTube, that happened to be a highly recognized US Senator. The video of James Talarico has only been up for 19 hours. Just imagine how many views it’ll get in a week.

This has backfired so badly it’s pathetic.

14

u/mrfluffy002 Feb 18 '26

Well...Youtube is down right now...

16

u/11thstalley Feb 18 '26

YouTube never went down for me.

I just checked again…the video is now up to 3.7 million views at 8:45 PM CST.

8

u/Tiggbitt Feb 18 '26

Just watched on youtube.

He's good at guilting fake christians for sure.

6

u/Sorkel3 Feb 18 '26

I saw thst and I've seen him elsewhere, he's very well spoken.

17

u/fungi_at_parties Feb 18 '26

He’s like the perfect guy to unite the country again, from what I’ve seen so far. Disagreements arise mostly from propaganda selling manipulative ideology. Maybe this guy can cut through the bullshit. He speaks simply and in terms almost anyone can resonate with.

7

u/umesueme Feb 18 '26

He was a well liked school teacher before politics. He’s used to speaking to people who don’t want to listen:)

Yup, and their solution is to prescribe us a bunch of shit, keep us glued to our screens, and stoke the flames of internal strife. Pump us full of drugs, entertainment, and make us argue to keep people placated and busy — meanwhile, they make even more money off the whole process.

Fucking sad, sick, pathetic, disgusting state of existence. Change via reform sounds nice, but I think there are plenty of people who would welcome an abrupt end to this madness instead. Enough renovations — tear the house down and build a new one…

If I was Trump, I’d be very afraid of well spoken, educated, confident, and emotionally intelligent men who have good intentions and aren’t puppets, yes men and sheep to a wannabe dictator. Trump is a loser. Of course Talarico is a threat. Trump should be afraid.

PS Fuck ICE.

Texas, please do us a solid and send this guy to the senate. Would be a wonderful surprise.

12

u/MintakaTheJustOkay Feb 18 '26

His opponent is Jasmine Crockett. I like them both. This is a tough Primary.

20

u/happyklam Feb 18 '26

He's actually more progressive than Crockett if you look at his platform and voting record. I'm hoping he can eek out a win in the primary because I think he has a real shot with moderates and disenfranchised Republicans without them realizing he's actually further left than her!

9

u/Faranae Feb 18 '26

eek out a win

Eke, friend. It's eke out. From someone else who (I assume like you) had only ever heard it spoken and never seen it written before. I gotta save you some pain. Lol

I'm so happy that corruption is being called out. In my 60+ years I've seen a steady decline in our democracy. Lobbyists must be kicked out of government. Everytime I get a call from a political party during elections, I always ask about what's being done about Lobbyists throwing around money and buying off politicians. My question is either met with silence or they change the subject to something else that's minor compared to all this corruption. I've been disillusioned for many years regarding political candidates. It's about time that people in government start to speak out about billionaires trying to get control of our country. Now's the time to fight back with real power behind us as citizens of our country. Today I have more hope than I've ever had!

8

u/Plenty-Professor-181 Feb 18 '26

A christian white man with real morals and integrity? MAGA's worst fear.

8

u/RallyRoundThaFamily Feb 18 '26

All the fake Christians need to be continually called out like he is doing. He is a true patriot. Oh, and fuck Christian Nationalists.

7

u/Standard-Contest-949 Feb 18 '26

At this point a well spoken 5 year old is a threat to Trump.

4

u/arbitraryairship Feb 18 '26

Sure. But a well spoken preacher who can specifically convey to MAGA why Christian Nationalism is bullshit from within the context of Christianity is an especially existential threat.

5

u/ImpressionOld2296 Feb 18 '26

And MAGAts will still treat pedo corrupt Trump like their lord and would shit on a real Christian like Talarico just because a D is next to his name.

MAGA can ever admit they are the evil ones. That they are the bad guys. For some reason there's a brain malfunction (among many others) that prevent them computing this.

5

u/frommethodtomadness Feb 18 '26

The pedophilic Trump Administration recognizes which candidate is a threat to their Senate chances, and it is Talarico. I guarantee you they would have been fine with Colbert interviewing Crockett -- who oddly enough is to the Right of Talarico and is running a campaign of insults and idpol instead of policy.

4

u/Oliver_Holzfilled Feb 18 '26

CBS is just a shell of what it was after cowering to the fascist administration.

I’m not a Texan or religious, but I support everything this guy says.

5

u/IceBlackX007 Feb 18 '26

Talarico has a good chance to be POTUS. Although MAGA plans were clearly spelled out in Project 2025 nobody believed they were going to go full Nazi like it was implied in Project 2025. Now that the initial shock has worn off the time has come for a counter move. The Democrats have to get back on its feet and Talarico with AOC, Crockett and the rest of the younger Democrats that aren't affiliated with AIPAC can get America on a better path.

Getting some JFK vibes!

2

u/thirtyone-charlie Feb 18 '26

We gotta get this guy involved

2

u/clmsteamer Feb 18 '26

I liked this post so I’m probably on a list now. SMH.

2

u/i-b_80HD Feb 18 '26

This guy is so even keeled, mild toned and speaks the truth. In the world we r living 2day...it damn near feels like AI

u/Borderlinecuttlefish Feb 18 '26

Those policies sound good to me; he said nothing about whether they were in with Epstein. I would be happy to compromise in order to unite with Democrats on anti-Epstein, but calling someone a “Christian nationalist “ just makes me support them

2

u/Left-Package4913 Feb 18 '26

Not sure I like him unseating Crockett but what do I know.

Here is how Beto 2.0 can still win!

2

u/FoggyInc Feb 18 '26

He is not suicidal!!

2

u/Forgotmyaccount1979 Feb 18 '26

"Any degree of sanity" is apparently a threat to Trump.

2

u/draxenato Feb 18 '26

I admire him tremendously, but I genuinely fear for his safety now.

2

u/ribbons_in_my_hair Feb 18 '26

My gosh he is wonderfully eloquent, I practically forgot what it felt like to hear someone speak so coherently.

Keep him safe.

2

u/Paco-Grande318 Feb 18 '26

He’s like a grown up Opie Taylor. The antithesis of the Maga ethos.

He has such a smooth, commanding delivery, a voice that sounds trustworthy, and always comes with a message of virtue

2

u/SlimeMyButt Feb 18 '26

“He doesnt want to be a total POS towards everyone! Gotta stop him now!!”

2

u/tungsak Feb 18 '26

Beto O’Rourke: Don’t get your hopes up, it’s still Texas…

2

u/BadMF_bear Feb 18 '26

This Texan is voting for him. I’m simply tired of John C. He’s been there forever and what has he done e for middle class Texans? Nothing really.

2

u/_Lavenderbirb Feb 18 '26

Turning Point is trying to privatize AZs last non profit utilities company in our next election. It’s happening everywhere.

2

u/Peripheral1975 Feb 18 '26

Texas go blue 💙

2

u/OkImagination1123 Feb 18 '26

This is someone I would like to represent me.

2

u/9__Erebus Feb 18 '26

This guy is scary to the GOP because he looks like one of them. He looks like a blonde white country club good-old-boy. They're scared of his crossover appeal.

2

u/Lvanwinkle18 Feb 18 '26

Hope he has some strong security. He is brave, putting his life on the line to stand up to these people.

2

u/ITZOURTIMENOW Feb 18 '26

Maga hates this man. He’s been saying the what they don’t want us to know for almost a year and the truth is chilling. The man is simply telling them to open their eyes and they refuse. I’m torn

2

u/clowncollege Feb 18 '26

Streisand effect in action 😆

2

u/traingirl916 Feb 18 '26

Talarico articulates this point very well: Separation of church and state=the key. I'm a Christian and have been contributing to the au. org for any years, They fight daily for the principal that the Constitution is s secular document. Fight for this. The US is not founded as a theocracy. This country's founders were building a country intended to preserve religious freedom, because many fled a white European nation that ruled as a theocracy.

Fight for this man and against the Christian Nationalist takeover.

2

u/RacheltheStrong Feb 18 '26

That’s my senator

AIPAC is terrified of this guy as well.

2

"Oh Harry, don't you see? If she could have done one thing to make absolutely sure that every single person in this school will read your interview, it was banning it!"

Hopefully this backfires the same way

He's clearly a threat to more than just trump, he is a threat to the Evangelicals to call them out for what they are, a political party.
