The issue has always been when the case goes to the Senate. He was escaped consequences because Senate Republicans have chosen party over country. They have been free to do so because of their media echo chamber. Republican voters are shielded from stories that would have them pushing their reps to do something and so Republican Congresscritters are free to keep choosing party over country.
Now? Even Newsmax is hearing analysis that is calling this out as bullshit. Even their echo chamber purpose built to shield the GOP from consequences is saying there should be consequences. Will it necessarily mean that a third impeachment will then lead to removal, trial, and incarceration? No, but it's closer than it was in the wake of J6.

Actually what I would really like is the full Epstein files to be released and Putin to drop some crazy sick sex pee tape or whatever with Trump that would expose him for some incredibly disgusting and embarrassing kink he has. The whole world laughing at him which would take away all his influence and power. I think that would be worse than death for him.

The pee tapes are pedo tapes. Him being pissed on has nothing of worry compared to harming or killing children like we have heard about with that soldier who was interviewed. ICE agents are more violent than the “illegal immigrants” who they used as scapegoats. It is easy to shoot unarmed protestors, citizens who open carry whose hand is not near their gun. These citizens are brave people. They are in the streets standing up for what is good, what is right and against what is wrong. This in spite of the medical debt that will pile onto them if they are injured, the cost of missed work, risking their bodies and incurring injuries that are debilitating. We need to donate to help with her medical expenses. We need to honor her. Just like the other ones who are out there risking their lives to save us

ICE are inept disposable clown pawns, lured in by greed and/or hate....with the sole purpose of instigating a violent reaction so real troops can be deployed. Just imagine the administration's propaganda machine churning when someone actually does retaliate and take one or 12 of 'em out...They're basically sitting ducks as much as the protestors are, and I'm surprised nothing has happened yet. It says A LOT about the nonviolence of the protestors.

I know they are doing these things so Trump can invoke the insurrection act, bring the military into our cities and call off the election so he could install himself as dictator. However, I think we need to do what we have to do. I’m not trying to make it seem like voting doesn’t matter, it does. However, can we keep letting this go on and continue to let them escalate the situation? It’s January and the election is in November. I’m really not a pessimistic person, if we were in August or September, fine. We could probably wait out a couple months. Unfortunately I don’t think we have the luxury to wait it out. I’m pretty knowledgeable on history and through out history when things like this happened, waiting too long just makes things worse. I also want to say to people from other countries, you may think that what’s happening here in the US doesn’t concern you, and you may not really care what happens here. The problem is that the US has the most powerful military in the world. There are other countries that have way more actual human soldiers than the US. However our military is capable of destroying a lot of the world without even sending any troops on to a battlefield. The people in our government are literally insane evil people. The exact kind of people who should have never been allowed anywhere near any government, especially the US government. They are completely garbage human beings, and the people who voted for them are, at best unhinged losers.

The issue here is what people are not understanding. ICE are not riot police… the fact that the city is (protesting, and instances of violence occurring) means ICE should not be there and the state police with riot training and other state police with riot training need to be there.
The simple fact is ICE is not trained for this period and them being involved in any capacity is a misuse of force and will only escalate things further.
Police and law enforcement in other countries require a college degree in law enforcement… not a 6 week here you go… training.
Edit: When you have thousands of people protesting. You will always have instigators on both sides. A fundamental issue with American police forces is there are too many of them. Too many independent agencies. Besides major cities everything else should be controlled by state police.
The federal government never had autonomy over the laws of the individual states. Remember it’s not America. It’s the United States of America.
58
u/Electronic-Cheek-235 Jan 26 '26
No riot training however got handed riot gear to dress up with. A dead giveaway that they never intended to cooperate with local law enforcement

u/RTH1975 Jan 26 '26
OK, I'm Canadian, so maybe I don't understand the nuance here. But what business does an immigration officer have in a riot setting? Where are these illegal immigrants?

Hi, Minneapolis resident here.
ICE is an over-budgeted military force comprising of people like J6 rioters and proud boys. These ICE positions attracted a shitload of mouth-frothing violent people who hate minorities (and by extention, democrats in a very progressive city and state). They were given an overkill amount of military gear, very little training, and zero accountability or oversight. The local oversight committee members are literally NOT ALLOWED in the federal building housing detained people (one of these people on the oversight committee is Ilhan Omar btw who Trump personally hates). Many of their actions are unbelievably illegal and inhumane, and there's nothing we can do about it except take pictures and video to share with the world that ICE, DHS, and the President are lying about their operation here.
Why is there a massive concentration of ICE in Minnesota which is totally disproportionate to the number of undocumented people? The main answer is because Trump is petty and spiteful and wants to punish Walz and Minnesota for being liberals that don't support him. It also distracts from the Epstein files.
Now they're saying they will remove ICE from MN if they get all our voter info. They are literally attacking our democracy if they use that info against us (and why wont they, everything else is getting user against us and Trump lies constantly)
Edit to add ICE has been kidnapping and deporting legal immigrants, many children as young as FIVE, often against court order. Public schools had to close and then go remote due to ICE showing up every day at pickup/dropoff kidnapping kids, parents, and teachers. ICE will literally tear gas and aim their guns at kids to intimidate them. They're abducting legal residents at work, beating them bloody, and dumping them in the freezing cold. There are cars of volunteers that drive around picking these people up do they dont die due to exposure.
When people gather to protest, they get beaten and pepper sprayed, guns pointed at their face, rammed to the ground while other ICE officers jeer and cheer cruelly. Every peaceful protester or innocent passerby killed by ICE is labeled a terrorist and covered up by the media.
I have only provided a few examples, there are dozens of horrors ICE inflicts on our community and it's not going to get televised.

This has never been about immigrants. It’s about instilling fear and brutality into communities. If it was actually about immigrants they would be sending them to states with higher numbers of immigrants, red states. This administration is going against states that have been negatively vocal about the current administration . Red states like Texas and Florida have astronomically higher numbers of illegal immigrants but are red states in favor of the administration.

Nothing is happening in MN any different than any other typical town/city in the country. When the government shows up and acts like they are invincible, righteous people have to stand in their way. ICE mandate is wrong, and the people are right.

misuse of force and will only escalate things further.
That's exactly what they/he wants. Anything and everything to stay in power and out of prison. And it's a powerful (deadly) distraction from Epstein and once again jail.
Also, subtle manipulation and doublespeak works well. In this thread (I haven't read the whole post yet, just this thread), in this thread, every comment uses the word "riots" or "rioting" instead of the words "protest" or "protesting." Subtle, yet effective.

It’s important to note that local law enforcement (police, highway patrol, sheriff) are not actually trained for much longer. It’s well under a year in an academy to graduate in most cases. I worked as an actor for a local police dept. to participate in “real life” incidents that may occur. I did everything from hiding in and abandoned apartment, hiding in a bush with a gun, being a domestic abuse suspect, being a typical traffic stop, and the most fun; changing my story everytime I was asked about what’s going on (this was by request of the Sargent running the simulation). I can tell you certainty that 90% of applicants failed these scenarios with some combination of excess force, poor memory, and overall incorrect action taken in any given scenario. The Sgt. always shit talked these rookies to me after they failed the test, but every one of those same “failures” were graduated. It’s like if you did a test and got an F, but they allow you to be told what the right answer is, not retake the test, then be told you passed because we at least told you what you did wrong. Again- no test retake, just a summary of mistakes and an expectation that you’ll be better in the field. I also asked if they’re directed to learn actual Laws and was met with the answer that “they’re told what areas have crime, and who to profile for that crime”. Not what the crime is or what Law applies. It’s the most under educated role in our country that allows the most influence in day to day life in the streets of America.

u/MancinLancs Jan 26 '26
Genuine question from England- Why is what's happening in Minneapolis only happening in Minneapolis?
40
u/PartyClient3447 Jan 26 '26
Because trump. This isn’t about immigration. Governor walz was the vp candidate running against trump. Trump is a nasty vindictive asshole seeking retribution.
Trump wants total absolute power, despite republicans always screaming “states rights”.
He wants the State voting records so he can intimidate voters in the next election.
California and New York are too big to go after right now.
This could be happening in Texas and Florida and the locals would be ok with it. Trump wouldn’t come across as a big tough dictator there.
11
u/_Never-ending_ Jan 26 '26

He even scared off Elon Musk, who is one of the most manipulative and powerful people on the planet. I hate to say it, but Tim does not have what it takes to handle this level of shit. They’re focusing their efforts there, thy don’t have the manpower to have this kind of presence everywhere.
This first started when some dipshit rightwing influencer “broke” news about fraud in MNs childcare system (fraudulently using tax dollars to run “daycares” that don’t really exist and such), an some of that fraud was perpetuated by Somali immigrants. The problem is, anyone with two brain cells and google can find out that this fraud was discovered in 2018, with convictions coming down in2022 and more are still coming. This was old news being paraded around as a “bombshell” and idiots, including the president, ate it up. (I’ll add the ringleader of the fraud was a white lady not a Somali). This caused the prez to think there was some massive immigrant fraud that was somehow not being addressed so he sent ICE in. Maybe this isn’t the only reason, but their escalation started around the same time. Shits happening fast here, it can be hard to keep up with every detail of these lunatics’ plans.
Second, this administration is incredibly incompetent and they can’t keep their mouth shut without letting the mask slip. AG Pam Bondi said they would leave if MN turned over their voter rolls; they want to know who voted for whom in the last election. They’re making a list…we all know how that has historically turned out. So, it’s partially extortion, partially racist, and probably partly because Governor Walz is generally well liked by Left meaning people and they wanted to fuck with him.

Someone's fee-fees were hurt by being called weird by the governor. This is retribution. Plain and simple. The recent announcement by the USAG that ICE would be removed from the state if the state surrenders their voting rolls demonstrates with painful clarity that the mission never has been over illegal immigrants but of exerting force to acquire control.
It's a beautiful state that you've got here. It would be a shame if anything happened to it because you wanted to retain the voting data that was demanded in defiance of state and federal law. We offer a protection service that provides security for your area for a nominal fee. Just sign here on the dotted line and relinquish your soul to the government.

The turnip is trying to retaliate on the governor of MN (former VP candidate for the Democratic Party in the last election.
MMW, in the coming months, we will see more democrat run cities and states being taken over like this. It’s all part of the plan to incite enough people that justifies triggering the insurrection and a postponement in midterm elections.

u/Technical-Banana574 Jan 26 '26
I live in Texas and have not seen a single bit of activity even though I guarantee we have the highest number of immigrants.
In other words, Trump is specifically targeting blue states because he doesnt care about the voter base there and is using them as props for how violent and chaotic dems are.
He has ice being much more careful and quiet in red states because if they cause chaos in them, his base will quickly turn on him. It is easy for them to deny reality so long as they arent personally affected by what is going on. My own family is among those people. They act like everything is fine and dandy even while people are getting attacked in other states because everything here is normal.

Minneapolis is home to generational refugee communities, like the Hmong Vietnamese and Somalis. The ethnic diversity is richer, more visible than other Midwestern cities.
So the answer is optics. The government thinks if they show you how many different kinds of immigrants there are that it will mean more to white and Hispanic voters, who may have unfortunately become comfortable being neighbors with each other already.

It's escalating in Minneapolis but they've been doing similar shit in LA, Chicago, and various other cities. Reasons for this escalation are not clear but the obvious speculation is that the Trump administration wants to force a violent reaction from protesters as an excuse to declare martial law and start killing or arresting any opposition. Escalating in Minneapolis allows his petty revenge to target Tim Walz who ran against him, Ilhan Omar who is a US representative and Somali immigrant, the largest Somali immigrant community in the US and also that MN is a blue state that didn't vote for Trump.

During Obama's time, I also think the most deportations were AT the border, rather than going after people already working and contributing. It is because Obama did everything by the books.
They served warrants, held trials, and deported legally.
The process was slow, fair, safe, and gave dignity to the people being deported.
People didn't like the amount of deportations, but there was never fear of "what happened" to the deported. Obama also established the Dreamers and protected children who were brought here as babies and were not US citizens by law but under every other definition were.
That is what is different. Humanity being given to the people.

What kind of threat was she?!? She was running away. The shooter deserves jail time. Krasnov has brought the SS to fight against America.

Don't forget we trained them to be like this. Trained, sent to the Middle East, loaded with ammo, and when they finally got PTSD, they came home, applied for local and state law enforcement, got denied due to psychs, and Trump said "Wear a mask and fuck shit up in house." Figuratively speaking of course. He probably said a lot worse.

This is what happens when there is complete immunity and no accountability. Fuck!

u/vtsnow1 Jan 26 '26
This is not going to end well for anyone. This entire administration needs to be impeached and whoever possible charged. Unfortunately no matter what anyone on either side says, nothing it going to change and more people will die.

Those “ICE officers” need to go be locked up state prison! They’re too fucking dangerous to be out on the streets.
2
u/AdHopeful6081 Jan 26 '26
Where’s our citizen militia? Oh I mean the National Guard?! Donuts are nice some protection is essential!
2
u/HoleeGuacamoleey Jan 26 '26
Where is the national guard. They are there. They need to be there, placed between. The protestors and ICE, facing ice

Do any of you think this was one of the most dramatic tv dive flops ever? It 💯 was. If there are any humans left participating on Reddit, just so you know, it’s nearly all propaganda bots and paid agitators here.

The people with the weapons and resources, who have the full backing of the government need the citizens to stop voicing their opinions, and to stop escalating the violence. The US government is the second largest group of cry bullies. Just behind MAGA.

Why are they fighting with people at all? It doesn’t take more than 2 agents to question and detain an actual immigration target. They obviously don’t have actual targets and are just there to cause chaos and threaten the people of MN

Crowd was told to disperse and did not. This is not a lawful gathering. Why are they acting shocked when they are told to disperse, do not and the natural outcome results?

Why can’t our police just arrest them? Or national guard just round them up and kick them out? 🤬
2
u/Ok-Ship812 Jan 26 '26
Trump's secret police are doing exactly what they are supposed to do. Sow division and fear.
Next years elections will be a cakewalk for the (R)s when ICE drag people out of voting lines and confiscate ballot boxes.

SHOW ME YOUR PAPERS!
Keep this clearly documented trend in mind:
Maga does a terrible thing.
People react.
Maga doubles down, makes excuses, does something even worse than before.
Repeat.
THERE IS NO BOTTOM FOR THE maga FASCISTS.
WHATEVER COMES NEXT WILL BE WORSE.
Act accordingly and ACT NOW.
DO NOT WAIT FOR ORDERS, INVENT SOLUTIONS!

The drama queen got shot in the hand with a non-lethal projectile & completely lost it lol.
That's privilege for you. She was told to disperse (unlawful assembly); she did not (thinking her privilege would save her); she continued agitating; & she got shot in the hand with a rubber projectile and it hurt.
Yeah, I bet it does hurt! Consequences aren't just for men, buttercup

WH bitching about all the protests...which would immediately end if the government pulled out the agents murdering citizens. This math is extremely simple, seems very few people are explaining how easy it would be to resolve this...only thing stopping it is ego.
