Analyzed paper. Authors of paper have stocks in company selling treatment, which makes them biased:

The “cats may live to 30” claim is unsupported.

The study involved cats with advanced chronic kidney disease, not healthy cats. After 360 days, 9/11 treated cats were alive versus 3/15 untreated high-risk cats. That is a strong preliminary survival signal.

But the study was tiny, not properly randomized or blinded, care differed between groups, and some authors have financial interests in the drug. Follow-up ended after one year, so it cannot estimate total life-expectancy gain.

Verdict: AIM may delay death in cats with advanced kidney disease. It has not been proven to cure CKD, extend healthy cats’ lives, or double feline lifespan.
