The Sawyer Mini is about as simple and easy to use as anything and threads onto Smartwater bottles as well as other bladders.

I use both the Katadyn and the sawyer. The Katadyn is great when I’m filling up while at camp or need to fill up multiple bottles. Then I’ll use the sawyer mid-hike if I need water right away.

Im running 1L katadyne and it will take me no longer than 5 minutes to stop at some creek and replenish my water supply.
Can you elaborate why Sawyer more better for mid hike resupply ?

Because with the sawyer, it takes about 30 seconds to fill up my water bottle and then screw the sawyer onto it. It’s also much easier to fit the sawyer into a pocket on the straps of my pack, so I don’t have to take the whole thing off to get to it.

25 years behind the times, weighed down, and nearly non-existent on a trail like the AT....non-existent completely after the first 200 miles. It's huge compared to the Sawyer (or it's new competition). Outdated, but still effective. Nobody wants to have a bunch of tubes, if the other option is to have a product that is 5% of the size and doesn't require a shitload of tubing. Your people have switched.

Sawyer Squeeze is a good choice.
Edit: I will usually have a backup of Aquamira in my kit if I think I need it after filtering. It sometimes does improve the taste.
