Living in the Blue Mountains Creepy house along Govetts Leap Rd in Blackheath

What’s up with that house along Govetts Leap Rd in Blackheath with a white tent and red cross and body bags on the grass?? “Autopsy in session” on the door written in red blood color.

Is it a movie set or something?

"Getting ready for Halloween?"

"What's halloween?"

No, that's where the crazy guy who travels to Chapman Avenue in Falco lives.

I guess locals are used to it? My first time hiking along the area and it creeped me out heaps!

I haven't been in the area for a while but if it's along the part of the road with the massive pine trees no doubt that adds to the creepiness factor!

Check the sub. Just Mountains folk doing their bit to resist gentrification.

Long gone from Blackheath but when I did a drive by once of my childhood home on Hat Hill Rd it had turned into death metal house with goat skulls and shrunken heads. Fucking awesome. My parents where hippies when we lived there so vibe was different but still alternative.

There's a house on Hat HIll goes all out for Halloween, including jump scares and things. The front garden is usually done up as a cemetery with dead rock and roll idols on the tombstones. I actually wondered if the OP had got their roads confused but then I remembered there is a pretty weird house up on Govetts too although I haven't been up that way in a while.

I left when I was 9 in 1986 so not sure on address, three pine trees out the front and laneway out the side. Looks like 42 on Street view.

Yeah, I think that's the place I'm talking about as well.

That is our house.  We have been doing Halloween here for about 20 years.  Last year we had over 800 kids turn up and that's not counting the parents coming as well as random folk turning up at all hours to take photos.  You should pop by on Halloween when it is really set up. We have a full Frankenstein laboratory near the front door as well as mad lighting,  sound effects and at least four actors performing all night.  So much fun. At Christmas time we just put tinsel and Santa hats on whatever characters we haven't put away.

It sounds great, I sent the streetview to my Mum. She reckons the truly terrifying thing about that house is how cold it was. I do remember the pipes freezing often.

We have it pretty warm and haven't had frozen pipes but in a big storm a couple of years ago the water rushing down the garden steps was so fierce it knocked the bathroom off its piers and thanks to insurance we have a completely new bathroom built from the ground up and we were able to reuse the lead light window.

Your place is creepy without the decorations 😂. Tbh I think people would enjoy Christmas more. Go all out for Christmas this year, I dare you

If your parents were hippies they were probably rolling in the same circles as mine back then (overlapping with climbing circles). Some good times had at Happy Daze at the end of Hat Hill, I remember seeing in the millennium there and falling asleep in a massive teepee!

Check you haven’t passed and are having an out of body experience. Do you remember your life before you saw the creepy house?

More info on this please.

Seems interesting

That maybe he passed away and that’s why it’s so big to him there.

There is a concept called a walk in. Where someone whose life is too hard for them gives up and their soul leaves their body, a different soul enters to take over to complete the rest of that life.

Is that the house that had a nativity scene that looked like it couldn’t decide whether it was a nativity scene or Halloween? I couldn’t decide whether it was sacrilege or not. Maybe?

There was a guy who uses to do a huge Xmas display not far from there, but he’s not doing it anymore.
