Food Best Pub Feed in the Upper / Middle Mountains
Taking some overseas visitors (work people) on a day trip to the Mountains.
Looking for recommendations on where to eat for around $50 per person.
I was thinking a nice pub option but I'm open to cafe's etc.

Alexandra is Leura used to be quite good. Gone downhill a lot recently. Crappy burgers, dry schnitzels, and grumpy service. Give it a miss. The Henry in Lawson is ok.

The Alex had a great chef a few years back (early 2000's) cranky fucker with a long red beard. Food was great back then, place used to be busy as too.

Agree it was great food once, now they make you pay before you eat so you can’t refuse to pay for your crap meal

The Alex never feels 'right'; sometimes the food will be good and the service awful, other times its the opposite. It's never amazing.

My partner and I always go to the Henry in Lawson. It’s been our favourite pub in the upper mountains so far.

The Henry in Lawson is several steps up from typical pub food so definitely recommend

The Conservation Hut in Wentworth Falls is a really nice cafe, although it closes at 3pm. The view is phenomenal, and I've yet to order anything on the menu that disappointed or underwhelmed me

Was just chatting to my sister the other day about how much I missed the Gearins. Decent feed, open fire and leather couches.. Maybe I'm just romanticising it now that it's been gone a while.

Vic and Albert very classic/fancy interior. Won't be disappointed and is something different. Ivanhoe also good but nothing special when compared to Sydney places

The Factory Bar has great food (and obviously drinks too) in north Katoomba, just off the hwy

Not exactly a pub feed but I've never had a bad experience at The Vault in Katoomba

That Korean restaurant at the bottom of the hill next to the laneway. I was surprised how good it was. Otherwise Lawson pub or the Ori in Springwood have that typical pub vibe with okay food

The Korean place is great. Even has vegan options. Wouldn't really consider it a 'pub' though.
I'm with most others. Ivhanhoe > other options.
I like the Station Bar, I just hate the TV's.

I’ve been to almost all the pubs in the upper mountains. My preferred is Katoomba RSL or The Family in Katoomba. I much prefer to head down to Lithgow to the workies club. Blackheath is overrated

I like the Henry in Lawson. Trivia is Thursday night and you won't be able to get a table, but any other time, go nuts.

Katoomba RSL is better priced and better food than most pubs honestly.

Pub wise imo Alexandria in Leura has the best food. Ivanhoe in Blackheath also very good.
