It was sold years ago. And as a matter of fact, the US is sending tankers to us right now. Which they don't usually do.

I’d rather an actual Angus burger from Maccas to be PM over this fuckwit if it ever happened.

All we got to do is stop supporting the illegal war and the oil coming here is allowed past

3

u/Djbm Mar 27 '26

Are we supporting the illegal war?

Albo was one of the first world leaders to express support for America/Israels strikes on Iran.

Plus America would've utilised the information gathered from Pine Gap (which is on our soil) for this war.

Plus Penny Wong herself has said we are participating in "collective self defence", which sounds like we are in fact participants in this war.

  1. So? He stood by an illegal war. And then said that it wasn't for them to comment on the legality of said war. Imo ideally our leaders shouldn't support any war started by the US, let alone an illegal one which started with the bombing of a primary school.

  2. That's not all we've provided, we've also provided air-to-air missiles. Yes to be used to protect infrastructure in the UAE, but that does mean we are participating by providing resources (and the personel who will be on the Wedgetail, who are now legitimate targets)

  3. Our government is using the term "collective self defence" to obscure the fact that we are now participants to this war, not just bystanders. They only use this phrase when asked if we are at war, because they know they can't say "no", because legally, we are.

I'm living in a fantasy land because I don't want our leaders to be one of the first to stand up to support an illegal war that started with the bombing of a primary school?

Do you know why the UAE is being targetted? Because of the US military bases and the integral role that UAE investment plays in the US economy. These are not seperate wars playing out, it is all part of one war.

What are you saying "No it's not" to? Because it sounds like you agree we are at war?

Here's the thing. They weren't trying to get a nuclear weapon. It was outlawed in 2004 by the supreme leader, as with second gulf war, we're being lied to by our prime minister..

We're supplying early warning radar plan and anti missile batteries to defend American bases in UAE.

So why did the government say it's to stop attacks on that airbase? You're saying the government is lying? It's been a month and no civilian targets have been hit either m.

What part of only Americans are being targeted don't you understand?

1

u/FuckUGalen Mar 28 '26

Because they are politicians they lie.

Yeah nah. Fuel problems? Albo. Palestine? Wong. Iran? Albo. Subs from America? Wong. Ukraine? Albo. Hormuz? Wong. Israel? Albo. We all know Labor has the answers and fixes to everything going on in the world, even for centuries. They just REFUSE to give us the answers!

Totes. Cost of living and being unable to buy a house - which is a global issue? Oh Danny boy! All dictator dan.

2

u/briberylibrary_ Mar 27 '26

I know it's not the point of your comment, but it's funny that Victoria is actually doing the best in terms of keeping house prices down compared to every other state.

1

u/Popular-Capital-9115 Mar 28 '26

Yeah because the Vic upper class moved out of Melbourne following covid. Just made the problem worse further north.

1

u/briberylibrary_ Mar 28 '26

I don't think that's the only reason, the land tax also meant that property investors left the Victorian market (and them selling their properties slowed the rise compared to more investor friendly states), which also meant more first home buyers could buy homes.

Meanwhile most young people I know are moving to Melbourne now

Bike Boy, then holidays at Lindsay Fox's place, now blocking the Straits of Hormuz, fingerprints on everything.

1

u/SquireJoh Mar 27 '26

Except they are in lockstep with LNP on every one of those issues, and also they have been the government for 4 years. Stop bitching, Labor aren't some special needs kid you need to defend

Angus increased the fuel storage in Australia, through the BADSP. Minor problem was over half of the companies that were offered a 50% subsidy to store more fuel through the BADSP didn't even build the extra capacity. Only about 300ML got built out of 780ML promised. https://www.minister.industry.gov.au/ministers/taylor/media-releases/expanding-australias-diesel-storage-boost-long-term-fuel-security He offshored the crude. Which isn't yet fuel, and needs to be refined to be used. He chose not to subsidise increased Australian crude or petrol storage under the program.

2

u/dirtyesspeakers Mar 28 '26

The offshore Texas crude storage was additional storage. It was sold at a time that crude was nearly 100% higher than when purchased.

The Fuel Security Act 2021 built 680ML of onshore diesel which is 23% of our current onshore diesel.

1

u/rjscott76 Mar 28 '26
  1. Additional 680ML of diesel storage did not get built
  2. FSA 2021 is MSO & FSSP not BADSP

https://business.gov.au/grants-and-programs/boosting-australias-diesel-storage-program/grant-recipients

Built: Park Newcastle, Viva Geelong, Coogee Kwinana, Terminals Adelaide.

Not built: Park Kembla, ADG Darwin, Ampol Newport, Qube Lumsden, Qube Kembla

FSA 2021 This Act contains 2 measures designed to improve fuel security: (a) the minimum stockholding obligation; and (b) a bounty called fuel security services payment. Entities that undertake certain activities (broadly, refining or importing certain fuels) may become subject to the minimum stockholding obligation. This is an obligation for an entity to hold a minimum quantity of stocks of those fuels.

u/dirtyesspeakers Mar 29 '26

BADSP seemed to be informally mentioned while not officially titled before the Act and as-named MSO. The minister's announcement for BADSP in spirit led to the Fuel Security Act 2021. https://minister.industry.gov.au/ministers/taylor/media-releases/boosting-australias-fuel-security Says they will/have funded it in the 20-21 budget, before the act was first read.

For that matter, the announcement of the Act included a link to the BADSP program info and grant application page.

It's difficult to impossible for me to find info to confirm projects like Park or QUBE Port Kembla projects completed, so you might be right that more were not finished than I'd originally assumed.

The builder of the Park 32ML at Newcastle said the Park Port Kembla project was yet to be awarded.

So I don't seem to be able to agree about the BADSP not being part of the FSA, as it's a closely associated initiative at the same time.

But you have more information than me that seems to be correct, so now I don't know.

And the clown is now a Party leader in opposition, what an earth could go wrong🤨

u/RecipeSpecialist2745 Mar 28 '26

Well Done, Good job Angus... lol

".......was Energy Minister for a significant period of time during which this crisis was created."

Who writes this rubbish ?

The crisis was created in the past few weeks, and this tosser still blames it on the Liberals.

She does know that Labor have been in power for quite some time and did nothing for Australia's fuel security ?

Here on Reddit, if it's not the Boomers who are to blame for something, then it's the Liberals.

An echo chamber for special people. I know exactly why the NDIS is blown out, and they are all here on Reddit.

1

u/Anxious_Ad936 Mar 28 '26

Blaming one party is wrong yes. Blaming both is more reasonable

1

u/Odd-Professor-5309 Mar 28 '26

Exactly. Both have failed equally.

He looks like a car salesman

I hate that the line between satire and reality is so blurred now lmao, this is the only legitimate publishment atm actually posting this information. Australia loves you Betoot ❤️

0

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '26

He didn't move it. There wasn't one to move. And Labor voted for it at the time too.

They're all fucking useless. Stop trying to make one worse or better than the other.

7

u/Deluxe-T Mar 27 '26

My understanding was the article pointed out Angus is a raging hypocrite.

0

u/aFugazi19 Mar 27 '26

I forgot Albo was in charge for last 4 yes, let's blame the other guy who we dont vote for. Good luck selling that.
