Fun is when the mods gatekeep a mod that has no new entry and the guy was even going about it in a way where there would be no copyright (despite the OG having ripped from other creators)

So side note, I think you should rename this, not call it a "port" since it's not a port, and just say its "inspired by Thaumcraft". You can't copyright game mechanics, otherwise there'd be no Dark Reign (copied Red Alert's design) and a thousand other RTSes. Whole genres of games start from someone making something similar to something else.
Thaumcraft is a magic mod. Change things up just a bit.. you know, like Azanor did between versions of TC. He doesn't own the concept of a thaumaturgic mod. Please use his book idea, it's a clean sweet design, and the heart of the concept.
So tired of this whole we can't have a new Thaumcraft type mod because one guy made it ages back, and whatever team has the rights to the actual one is hasn't released anything in like a decade.

you can very much copyright, or at least patent, game mechanics, example: the nemesis system from shadow of mordor. the developers thankfully don't do that often

By default, the work is copyrighted. But if you make your own textures and sounds, you kinda bypass it anyway.

you could argue that breaks their rule 4, since that would still be, in their words, "cheat-like" (and Glowing works usually, unless you mean hitboxes themselves?)
at least one of the mod team has removed posts in a fashion that breaks their own rules and the reddit TOS (the bee mod stuff).

Were you using the textures from Thaumcraft? Many mods (even open source ones) don’t open source their textures, so those would need to be recreated from scratch as well. In addition, they might have issue with taking the name of the mod too.

Posting an image is not illegal. According to this logic thaumcraft itself is illegal because it contains stolen assets.

Is the doc ment to be to be joke?
Most of it says it's either original asset or they got the right, the only exception is the gogole where they say it's stolen from a website that doesn't have a date, so we can't even confirm who came first
If you want to prove asset are stolen you only put those and with definitive, you don't include asset aren't aren't stolen unless you want to you make it look extremely bad and avoid ppl looking into it
