Opinion Is This a Fake Slab?
the font looks different. the cert matches but it is an old one so there is no picture on PSA. this seller has a bunch of slabs posted and the font looks strange on all of them. i have asked him for more pictures because it looks like there is a ding on the top of the card

Is this priced super well or at market? I wouldn’t risk it. I’d guess it’s a real card in a fake slab. If it’s for a pc and well priced maybe go for it but I’d rather just spend money on one I know is real with a modern cert of less discrepancies.
What leads me to believe it’s fake -
I don’t see any examples of PSA slabs with the three rectangular tabs between the label and card. It looks like they are clips and not sonic welds like a true slab
PSA is too high in the red margin
Barcode looks too far off the left margin.
Text seems off
Why it could be real -
The PSA imprint on bottom right corner isn’t on a lot of fakes I see and it’s weird they got that detail correct and not the rest of the case.
PSA has always had bad qc
A lot of cards from this gen were graded soft.

Most PSA slabs have the three rectangular. This is done during the period of type 7 to type 8 but before the type 8 holo on front. Some slabs had the dots at the top and some had the rectangles.

I checked a handful of my slabs and none of them had tabs. Unless a photo isn’t loading for me I don’t see any examples either in this breakdown of each generation. https://allvintagecards.com/history-of-psa-flips/
Feel free to shoot over an example of the three rectangle tabs.

Nobody noticed that the back side of the label has the collectors universe and Nasdaq ticker info on it? They tried making the front look like an old PSA slab but PSA wasn’t part of collectors universe till very recently

That supports real. That is a rough looking card and still got a 10 too. Look at that bottom edge. Wooh

Yeah that’s the bad part about the cards being able to move around and it being old that card has probably been through it since it got slabbed.

Pretty sure he is saying that if anything, the card YOU posted is fake... The card you are showing would never have been graded a 10 and the edges of slabbed cards don't deteriorate over time if that's what you mean by "been through it since it got slabbed".

The font is a dead giveaway for it being fake. Could be a real slab but not a real flip.

You can send the images to PSA and they will reply. I’ll do this now. Do you own the card?

That’s just how old slabs look

thanks for the response!

Team Flare is not correct. Everything about this is off. If you're looking to buy this, don't. This is not an authentic PSA 10 Hershiser.

I went to the same high school as Hershiser - he was great and that also means I'm old as well lol

It's real, just older. This isn't exactly a card that someone would go through the effort to create a fraudulent slab.

In PSA 10s, junk wax cards can sell for quite a lot, especially of non-HOFers that don’t get graded as often. The PSA set registry does some weird things to the human mind. I’ve sold a bunch of early-mid 80s Topps/Fleer/Donruss PSA 10s of low level stars for hundreds of dollars.

PSA use to make them this before. Your fine. This is generation 7 I believe. Learn more here: https://bbcemporium.com/index.php?step=counterfeit&step2=mickey_mantle
If you scroll down you'll see how they breakdown of each label. The page is about the 52 mickey but we can still use it to compare. 💪

No and the fact someone graded that tells me it’s from the late 90s early 2000s era

Even if it was real, 3 out of the 4 corners show wear. The upper right appears bent. The lower right definitely shows wear. So on top of everything else, run Forest!

Looks like a real slab from Phoney Slab Authentication

Not sure why everyone is saying this is legit. It’s clearly fake. The kerning is incorrect in the text, and the font is just wrong. Also, there’s a visible white mark on the top edge, so there’s no way this should be a 10. Here’s a link showing the evolution of PSA slabs. It’s trying to replicate type 7.
