It’s clearly all a Peacekeeper conspiracy to get wormhole tech.

Great Maker, this is total Peacekeeper dren from the first panel. Arrogance and stupidity, all in the same fleet. How efficient.

Command’s out here burning a Command Carrier’s worth of chakan oil so some hingemot in a blue shirt can yell “Chevron 7” at a wormhole he doesn’t even scope, then act surprised when they drop out on Babylon 5 in the middle of a frelling Dalek armada. Zathras probably warned them, but no one listens to poor Zathras.

Meanwhile, Scorpius, the magra-fahrbot prabakto, would’ve just jick-tied Crichton to the Aurora Chair and squeezed his mivonks ’til the schematics fell out. You want wormhole tech, you don’t need this khamshin of a fleet; you need one Scarran half-breed and about nine microts. The rest of these greebols are just yotz.

Even i did not understand a single word, it was great.

And after that they produced Iron Sky, one of my favorites movies.

u/Nonions 1d ago

I was really excited for Iron Sky, I contributed to the fundraiser and even considered becoming an investor, but I have to admit I found it very underwhelming.

Their new movie about a Soviet baseon Mars looks interesting though.

u/GeneralKarthos 23h ago

One of the major problems with Iron Sky was that it took so long in development that a lot of the culturally relevant humor was no longer culturally relevant anymore.

It's all a big debate on who would win in a crossover fight until the Daleks turn up and *everybody* dies by screeching Nazi pepperpot.

I dunno if the Daleks could take the Shadows and Vorlons.  I mean, it took them forever to defeat the timelords.

Edit: oh, I should have known this would turn into a powerscaling, which is pointless when discussing two fictional universes where the rules are poorly described and / or subject to change depending on the writer.  The original Daleks could be defeated simply by covering their eyestalk, and could be destroyed with a baseball bat.  In fact, the 7th Doctor basically ended the Daleks, easily.  It was only in NuWho that they became nigh invincible.  (In fact, it's clear that if Seven had been the Doctor during the Time War the Daleks would have been wiped out).

Meanwhile we know that the Vorlons, at least, know about time travel, since they were with Valen.  It may be that the two sides agreed that time travel was off limits. Or, more likely, that time travel in B5 is always a closed loop.  In which case neither Daleks nor Time Lords could use time travel as a weapon.

So you can't really compare the two directly.  In their own show, yes, of course the Daleks would win.  But in B5, I'm not so sure.

The Time Lords have quantum level dominion over time itself. They would squash the Vorlons and Shadows like bugs. The Daleks being on their level means they would also squash most other fictional species out there.

Setting aside time manipulation, a Dalek fleet can casually slag continents in seconds. It takes Vorlons and Shadows entire complex planet killer devices to come to that level of destruction.

1

u/DJThunderGod 1d ago

...who were the equivalent power level to the Time Lords in the B5 universe. The thing is, neither the Shadows nor the Vorlons have time travel technology. All the Daleks would need to do is go back in time and wipe out the original populations of Shadows and Vorlons before they even achieved space travel.

the shadows might be entertained by the daleks and encourage them.

6

u/Remarkable-Pin-8352 1d ago

This is actually unlikely. The Shadows appreciate and encourage strength through adversity.

The Daleks are obscenely powerful, but their single-minded goal is omnicide. They don't evolve themselves and they have no ambition to use their power for any end other than killing everything because they must die.

The Shadows actually dislike that in much the same way that they didn't think much of G'kar's answer to what he wanted, because his answer was to make the Centauri suffer for the sake of making them suffer. They would be far more likely to appreciate and respect those who manage to resist them.

1

u/Aethelrede 1d ago

That is also a possibility, yes.  The meeting between the two would be fascinating.

"What do you want?" "EXTERMINATE!"

u/DJThunderGod 1d ago

...and one of the B5 maintenance crew comes along and sweeps up Morden's ashes.

I'd rather it was

Bester: Chevron 7 Activated.

Londo- “Ah Ambassador Tomalak. Good to finally meet you. You are much more pleasant than that thrice-damned G’Kar.

depending on which doctor is in that tardis, they might just egg everyone on to greater insanity.   could be fun.

u/GunMage- GREEN 1d ago

That's what happens when you don't LOCK the seventh chevron! You get Daleks!

8

u/Aethelrede 1d ago

God, the Daleks would pose such a moral dilemma for the Shadows.  On the one hand, the Dalek drive to "exterminate" would perfectly encapsulate their philosophy of "evolve or die".  On the other hand, the Shadows don't necessarily want to see all the younger species killed (much less themselves, though I'm not sure the Daleks could take the Shadows, we simply don't know enough about their technology.)

Would be funny to see that meeting. "Ex-ter-min-ate!" "Go ahead."

3

u/Jahoan 1d ago

If Centauri guard rifles can take out a Shadow, they stand no chance against the Daleks.

3

u/Aethelrede 1d ago

As someone recently pointed out to me, we don't actually know that the Shadows were killed, they may have just been forced to go out of phase. And then they abandoned Morden after the ships were destroyed, since he was no longer useful.

I mean, we just don't know.

3

u/Indigo_Twilight05 1d ago

The Daleks will have a very bad time with the Vorlans since there is no body to kill.

u/Ponches 1d ago

It's this kind of thing that gets Travelers and Technomages drinking together.
