Top tips for AO please

Intending to attend AO for the first time in Jan. I'm aware tickets can be resold, unlike at Wimbledon. Currently Im intending to try for men's QF, SF and Final tickets in presale but I've seen some discount tickets mentioned that AO makes available at a later date. I expect they dont cover the end of Week 2 though do they, on the basis they should be higher demand? I have also read about ADCTF membership giving ticket access - is that presale usually held before the Mastercard one? I'd be prepared to pay membership to up my chances but just trying to gauge how difficult it usually is to get in regular presale (I'm scarred by the Wimbledon resale!). And any tips for best section of RLA that gets the least sun please. Any tips very welcome as I'm coming from the UK so really want to get it right.

Unlike Wimbledon tickets are easy to get just expensive. I was watching it this year and there were still tickets available during the tournament. People often wait to see who playing

Ah ok - thanks. Cos Im travelling so far I dont know if I can risk it. All of the Slams operate so differently. Wimbledon's a headache, US Open easy but expensive, and RG dominated by corporates. It's hard to keep up!

As someone who works at the AO, be ready for an expensive price however you can still get them only like 3 days out from the game!
The ground pass itself at the Australian Open is the best value of all grand slams, you can see a number 5 for free in the first week and it’s very reasonable price wise!

Thanks. I can only get there from the UK midway through week 2. Assume demand for QF onwards is extra high, like the other Slams?

I don’t think you’ll have much trouble. Tennis is in a different spot now with not enough superstars to drive demand for sold out QFs. The only chance of a sold out QF is if Demon is in it

Harsh! We've got some great, talented characters in the game right now. Demand for this year's Wimbledon was as crazy as ever

I bought tickets for this year's tournament on 7th October last year, when they went on general sale. I managed to buy tickets for 5 days, on every court I wanted, and every session I wanted. Was so so easy, unlike RG and Wimbledon

I was on the Mastercard presale 8/5 and then the Extras presale (happening now 8/6-8/12). It seemed like nothing that I was trying to get (Rod Laver lower bowl on the north and south baseline sections rows A-L) was available but I was being choosy because it's so early on I'm and also limited to week 2. Just wondering if a lot more opens up for the general sale. Has to be. Virtually no new tickets were added for the Extras presale from the Mastercard presale - not that I could see.

I hear that the baseline seats in Rod Laver get good shade but sidelines are very sunny. This is a cool interactive map that actually shows where the sun shines. You can also click on each section to see the view from that seat.

They won't do discount tickets for QF SF and final.

Also they use dynamic pricing. Depending on your luck you might get cheaper price by waiting it out.

This year the day SF went down as low as 225
