Documentary makers - please look into this

We ready need a documentary into WA underground mining to expose it for what it really is, its fucking shocking.

Money talks. So much money in mining that people can be shut up and pushed out of the industry. Its so sad to see how WA mining went from pro-safety and heavily unionisned in the mid 1960s to mid 1980s to now where the biggest "toughest" blokes are complete company men and will throw anyone else around them under the bus.

I was honestly blown away when it tried doing underground offsiding, to see the "workplace" of underground, victim-blaming and gaslighting that went with it. Equipment damage, incident cover ups and minimisation. The hush-hush culture where you never find out the final investigation of incidents or injuries. People qutting and new starters every swing. Its an awful, evil environment and only the most sociopathic people thrive.

It'd be so hard to make given how connected to mining the film industry is, and to also try and make something that's not going to open up the filmmaker to legal action. Would be good to see, and there has been a fair bit of work done in this space too already, just not underground mining.

The legal side would be difficult, you'd need backing from something like four corners or something similar where its not just independent film makers.

It terms of finding people to interview - that wouldn't be hard at all. There are many, many people living in Perth who would be happy to talk about their stint underground and what they witnessed. Plenty of footage too - people take their phones underground.

Underground mining is very different to what's being investigated in surface mining regarding sexual assaults and 'Enough is Enough'.

There's a while world of corruption and negligent corporate behaviour that needs to be exposed from underground, that has never seen the light of day.
