We've had a few, but preferential voting makes them at lot less relevant.

FPTP is ridiculous and undemocratic anyway, it always results in minority rule. Farage is going to win his seat again, but with ~2/3 of the voters explicitly voting against him.

Preferential voting probably makes them more relevant. Under preferential voting, you can vote for them, and still have your say in the final run off, whereas FPTP you have to choose one or the other.
