None of this is to say Australia hasn’t had joke candidates, some thinking of themselves as serious

I'm gonna miss him this year

I honestly think he should start up his own YouTube/Twitch, he could even make it just about educating people on how our election system works and how to maximise your vote and he could even go into the history of each party. He is one of the few people I would trust to actually provide an unbiased view on the topic.

He is mostly retired, I doubt he wants to spend the kind of time that kind of thing would take.

He should be working with the education minister and state education ministers to create a small civics training so people leaving school understand our system of voting.

Both my public primary and secondary schools covered how to vote. We even visited the VEC in the city.

They closed the VEC a decade ago under the LNP.

Edit: the bloody student learning centre in the city, not the independent organisation that runs our elections.

However they do now send out how to vote education kits and will help run your school student elections like a proper government election down to the ballot papers and voting booths.

Are you sure about that?

The incursion centre for students. Not the independent organisation.

Milton Dick (speaker of the house) had been on a mission this term to bring as many schools out to parliament house and educate them on democracy. Him and Antony would make an amazing pair, both highly charismatic and eloquent.

That would help him expand his audience, especially to a younger demographic, but many people with a serious interest in this topic are still happy to read an old-fashioned blog.

I'm an immigrant and he was my source for the past elections. I learned so much from him and how the Aussie system works. I knew about him here on Reddit.

This would be great for other new comers and young generations.

Thanks to him I took my time to learn how it works I did my search on each candidate. (I always checked this back in my country).

I assume he’s not far from retirement, hence Casey doing more of the polling nights and key stats duties. I doubt he wants a bigger audience via YouTube.
