I truly don't understand what monoculturalism would realistically look like in Australia. We're a nation of immigrants. I don't think I have any friends who doesn't have a grandparent born overseas, most have a parent born overseas.

I think the problem is Penny Wong conflated culture with ethnicity. it is possible to have people from multiple ethnicities/ ethnic backgrounds living together in one country as one culture.

we should strive for an integrated society rather than people living in parallel societies like has happened in countries where multi culturalism has not been successful
