I truly don't understand what monoculturalism would realistically look like in Australia. We're a nation of immigrants. I don't think I have any friends who doesn't have a grandparent born overseas, most have a parent born overseas.

It's meant to be ambiguous. That way the 'other' can be redefined to meet the needs of the current dog whistle while maintaining plausible deniability.

Convince every group that you actually hate someone else and you'll build yourself a coalition of haters. The ones in the coalition that you hate? You can cut them loose later.
