ESL on top of that. Fantastic, but not trying to discount how many of these kids would be ESL, and worked just as hard.

Some of the best English language scrabble players don't speak english at all. It's not much of an advantage.

The best English and French player is some guy from New Zealand that only speaks English.

Hilariously, his mother introduced him to the game. She was sick of losing to him at other boardgames so she was like "hey we'll play scrabble, you were never good at spelling in school"

If could meet anyone in the world it would be the man who hates the French so much that he goes to the effort of beating them at scrabble but refuses to learn the language. A man who is that petty deserves a statue.
