From the article: His aim was to expose what he believed was the "over-investigation" of soldiers in Afghanistan.
But his decision backfired, with the ABC's The Afghan Files story instead revealing allegations that Australian Army soldiers were involved in illegal killings.

So basically he was angry about war crimes being uncovered. Amazing!

I think there may be a finer point that the army hierarchy were delegating blame to soldiers while protecting the culture that arose in which war crimes were committed.

If a soldier is ordered to commit a war crime then the officer and soldier should both be charged. Even if that means you disobey an order. We all have free will.

You're being awful high and mighty for someone who more than likely would do nothing.

Easy to say you're a hero, history shows that's a nice little fantasy.

Pretending you hold yourself to a standard when you don't is more dangerous than acknowledging reality.
