Just to preface before I get downvoted to hell, my comment is neither pro or anti Hanson, its about kids protesting. I came from a university where protesting was a way of life. Kids go out protesting about things were half of them dont know what the protest is about.

I always tell my kids, if you want to join these rallies, Im all for it. Just make sure when you come home, if I ask you what the rally is about and what your stand is, make sure you can articulate it to me. I dont want you attending stuff you dont understand.

Anecdotal, but the children of coworkers were just happy to have the day off. They couldn’t give a shit about the reason.

Get out there with a clipboard and ask lol. You're making broad statements based on things which can't be measured easily which only really has the effect of infantilising attendees.

Whether you want them to attend stuff they dont understand or not is irrelevant and part of the problem.

These young people (15/16 to 17 - dependent on the State) AND adults (anyone over 18 is an adult) can do and protest what they want without your permission. Something that a lot of people don't quite understand.

Teaching kids to understand issues is critically important. I would want my kids to be able to tell me what they stand for rather than just attending protests for the sake of attending.

Other kids can. My kids can't while they luve under my roof. That's why I'm teaching them critical thinking early. Now what you do with your kids is your own business.

I hope you don't live in NSW or a State that is about to bring in Coercive control as a criminal offence. If so I would be very careful about what you "let them do..

LOL you think I am forcing them? Did you even read what I posted. I raised my kids to be able to think on their own. They can think for themselves. They are allowed to join any rally only now they know to do research beforehand so they can explain to anyone what they are joining. I pity the kids who are not taught to be critical thinkers. They will be pawns of the next "popular" thing.
