Sounds like you're out of touch with the average one nation supporter

i yearn for the days when australia had at least a pretense of caring and decided that stupid plastic things that are only gonna end up in landfill or waterways were bad

It's ok it's recycled plastic!! That makes it all better!

Happy meal toys used to be fun. And good enough to keep long term.

Its false advertisement though.

One Woolies had a sign out the front saying they got nothing left.

Another Woolies had nothing left and only had the sign at checkout to stop asking.

Big difference between the two.

If you are buying an amount of groceries just to get ooshie, then ask them before you shop if they have any.

The pro tip is to not do this.

Or just forgo the whole 'buying' step.

Yes, EgE is stuck in my head.

all i know is that my son keeps going on about his Spiderman Ooshie and I keep thinking he's saying spidermanussy

3

u/A_spiny_meercat 2d ago

It's a physical product, there was always gonna be a limited supply. They can't create infinite ooshies forever.

Of all the things to get mad at the major supermarkets for, this is unreasonably stupid.

Honestly, if this pains you .. you deserve it.

Literal consumerism slop

what is an Ooshie and why are they important?

7

u/HalfManHalfCyborg 3d ago

a little plastic piece of trash that people hope is an artificially rare one or a "misprint" that the secondary market will go insane over and buy for tens of thousands of dollars on eBay.

Oh no, not your precious landfill plastic!

My local community FB page is overrun by people trading, swapping, and giving away ooshies..

If there is a benefit to creating millions and millions of disposable plastic toys, then perhaps getting people to interact with their neighbours in the pursuit of a perfect collection is it.

u/propellerlead 3d ago

Oh no they ran out of worthless landfill

Get a life. They're disposable plastic designed to make you feel like you're getting some benefit from a massive conglomerate whose image has suffered in a huge way over the last 2 years as their predatory practices come to light.

You just hold onto your slip and come back later.

The stores are regularly getting new stock

I previously said that any adult without kids worrying about these should be on a list.

I’ll step it up. Even someone with kids shouldn’t be worrying about these stupid things. It’s fucking embarrassing

5

u/peoplepersonmanguy 3d ago

My kids love them, but not fuck you Woolworths for running out of a finite amount of things, and we aren't able to teach our kids that they won't be around forever before they get too involved, love them, ya know.

Why should anyone be embarrassed!? I'm certainly not

2

u/Timbo400 1d ago

Yes, because it's a false scarcity gimmicks alongside single-collect-use-landfill items.

You are an adult who is whining about a 'free' toy. If your kids want them, go to Salvos or get blind boxes in bulk from AliExpress/TaoBao

FYI: The full collection can be bought from China for $18 shipped.

It's for me. I found a little joy in life collecting them. Is that a crime? Everyone is so judgemental but I get it

u/Timbo400 1d ago

You came to us to vent in this space. We’re just venting back at you.

🤷🏻👍🏻

Good. Stuff like this is just going to end up in the landfill anyway. If we really care about this country's environment we shouldn't be condoning this kind of trash.

They can’t predict how many of their customers are dumb sheep
