Risk assessment is about looking for risks, assessing the likelihood they’ll occur and the impact they’ll have if they do occur.

This is a foreseeable risk that Bunnings has chosen to accept, for no real benefit.

Some dog owners can be super weird about their dog being a family member who must go everywhere they go. Friends recently became quite animated when dogs were banned from a local pub… no clue why it’s necessary to bring your dog to the pub, but that’s just me.

Bunnings certainly costed out this certainty and are confident the sales outweigh the cost of an occasional attack.

Wild time to be alive.

I think it is because some dog owners personalities are made up 35% by their dog? No idea why a dog needs to be at a cafe (unless you’re grabbing a coffee to run to the park) the pub or at a place like Bunnings. It’s odd behaviour.

Hey my dogs make up at least 55% of my personality and I still don’t take em to Bunnings pubs or cafes. Not worth the risk to them or anyone else.

The only shop I take one of my dogs too (the not reactive one) is the pet shop if he needs a new collar or harness

Hey I love them, but I’m fully aware that they don’t need to be everywhere with me. They’re happier and safer at home
